"An Urn?" Tyrek asked, very surprised. "You woke up with an urn? Oh I'm sorry I'm afraid I must hear the rest of this story." Tyrek laughed.
“Well, alright.” Heinrich cleared his throat. “To this day I’m not quite sure how I ended up with it. Someone had snuck it in my person, I think, in an attempt to steal it. Turns out it was a prop from some entertainment company in 20th century earth. And it had become quite valuable. But that’s not really the hinge of the story. There were two species on Risa at the time. I forget their names but one resembled a humanoid earth turtle, the other resembled a humanoid earth hare. Like the old fable, I suppose. They were in conflict, and the turtles wanted the urn for some marriage rite. The hares wanted it because they valued it. Turns out I was in the middle of an intergalactic political incident. But we were able to calm things down and get the urn back to its owner.”
"I'm afraid I have no stories like that to share." Tyrek laughed. "I'm not trying to bring up bad times Heinrich, " He said calling his friend by his first name. "But I must ask, was your experience in the fictional universe created by a member of the Q continuum as profound as the experiences of others ? Just asking out of curiosity.”
Heinrich’s mouth dropped. Even in counseling he had never opened up about the encounter. At least not really. And here was a friend asking him directly, blankly, what it was he experienced. He had done much to avoid remembering that day. And with the question memories came rushing back.
“Do you mean, like, 21st century Toronto? Or…”
(Reply Tyrek)
“In Toronto I was an actor, playing the character ‘Heinrich Kruze.’ I never was able to pick up too much about my backstory, but I gathered I was a terror on set. The second day in that reality I got a copy of the ‘script’ for the opening episode of the second season. And it was…” His voice began to trail away.
(Reply Tyrek)
“I think everyone on the crew, if they read the script, would find there was some part of themselves, some part of their life story that was on that printed page that they didn’t want anyone else to see. At least, that was the case for me. But it was only the beginning.”
(Reply Tyrek)
“I don’t know how much I really want to say… But, I do feel like I owe it to tell you. And maybe it’ll be good for me.”
