"I'll let you handle that. I'm a good engineer, but when it comes to the
technical stuff and monitoring paperwork, well that is when I do my best
impression of an absent minded professor."



" Yeah send me into the lion's den by telling Commander Merek , gee thanks.
" Ethan replied he owed the screen showing the maintenance work on
transporter room 2.


"So I got a communique from Starfleet Academy yesterday." Alistair said
with a sight. "They are offering me a teaching position. They know I
haven't been out as long as other professors but they think I am up to the
task of teaching." Brightwood said.



Ethan smiled.

" Really? Dude, that's awesome. I think you'd be a great teacher. "


"I'd be teaching intro level Engineering classes as well as Ancient Earth
Philosophy. If I took the posting. I have until the end of the month to
give them an answer."


" That's a little short notice for a life changing career move. Don't you
think ?" Ethan asked with a shrug.


"I don't know if I will take it or not. Problem is, I haven't told Cerise
yet."


" Yeah, that's the risk we run with making friends or getting too close to
people, but she can always go with you. No offense but they have holograms
who can do her job, maybe not as good. Too be honest a hologram can teach ,
but you're being presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity. If she
wanted to, she could relocate and take a posting near you. Starfleet
medical has tons of openings on earth and Mars,  hell even the Utopia
Planitia fleet yards have openings all the time. Engineers tear their
bodies apart working there." Ethan suggested.

Ethan placed a hand on Brightwood's shoulder.

" The best advice is to talk to her about it as soon as possible. Give her
time to think and prepare. If things don't work out I'm sure she can
request a transfer back. The captain let me have a damn robot." Ethan
laughed.
" So having a member of his crew come back should be nothing. "
