(USS Exeter – Mess Hall – CTO – Lieutenant – Ire Williams - 0807)

"Mind if I have a seat Lieutenant, the mess hall seems to be busy thismorning and this is the only seat available." 

 

Ire looked up from his meandering and saw that Violetwas standing beside his table. He smiled at her and nodded.

 

“Of course please seat.

"You know, I don't know why I came here for breakfast. I could have goneto the Nine and Dine or the Starlight Lounge, they tend to have less breakfastrush. Or I could have eaten in my quarters. Not Bean me up! though, theyusually tend to be a bit too crowded for my tastes. And I prefer something abit heartier for breakfast."

 

“I know what you mean but sometimes its nice just tobe in the presence of other people even if you are not actually with thepeople.”

 

He paused for a moment realising that he would haveto be polite and talk to Violet.

 

~Okay Ire out of your head~

 

“I guess it depends on what’s happening for therest of my day will decide on what I am going to have for breakfast.”



"I guess I just come here because I like being around people and some ofthe people I encounter in sickbay can be real energy sucks. Not thepatients of course, but my coworkers. So I guess the mess hall is the bestplace for early morning conversation."



“Yes that is nice to.”


~It also helps to people watch which is going to be more interesting as hismission here drags on~

"What about you? You seem a million miles away."

 

“Sorry about that.”



He smiled in apologetically.

 

“Just trying to get my head ready for work thismorning?”

“No its mainly just this monotony after what wehave been going through lately. It all seems to have gone to a screeching halt.Which on the one side is good as being in constant danger is not good for anyone…..”

 

~Let alone for the safety of the crew~

 

“….and it’s not like I want to be in combat all thetime it’s just.” 

 

He paused with a shrug.
