Mission: Space was cool before it mattered

(USS Exeter - Starlight Lounge - Ensign Rylee Page - 0632)

Rylee yawned and rolled her shoulders. Having been in the computer core for
the last few days, she knew she was due a serious callisthenics work out
but, right now, she would settle for a strong cup of coffee. Keeping the
computers in tip top shape and making sure nothing interrupted the scans
the science and survey teams were doing was a full on job.

"Buenos Dias, Señorita Page." A voice filled her ears, a voice she knew in
passing but the accent gave it away. "How are you doing this morning?"



Turning, she fixed a smile on her face as she saw her colleague, Santiago
Torres. “Tired and sore but other than that, not too bad.” She had been
keeping herself to herself for the last few weeks. Not for any particular
reason, she had just found that her own company was what she needed at this
moment. Although, she was grateful for the interaction.



"I know you don't have the bridge shift again today, but thankfully it is
on a day that there isn't much going on."



“Maybe for you guys who work the bridge. I’ve been in the core keeping that
in working order and replacing who knows how many conduits and just making
sure everything was in working order because you know how those survey
teams can be.” she replied with a slight smile.



"Of course, if you specialized in comms, there might be more opportunities
on the bridge if that is what you want. Though, the bridge isn't always
that exciting. Sometimes it is too exciting, especially for this early in
the day."



Laughing slightly, she nodded, “Perhaps you would benefit from a stint in
the core. No excitement in there. Still, good work although i find myself
in need of a serious work out, having to crawl through Jeffries tubes
pretty much every day for the last few days.”

“So, do tell me of the excitement going on on the bridge at this unhealthy
hour of the morning?” Rylee asked, taking a sip of her tea.
