Day: 2

(Exeter – Science labs- MO Dr.Klaz Vulon,Ensign & SO Lieutenant T'Gema
Vaxis- 1258)

Klaz walked into the science department and marched right up to Crewman
Patters.

"Crewman Patters, have you made an attempt at running an analysis on the
water sample given to you by Lieutenant Miller?" He asked.

Crewman Patters looked up from his equipment " I'm a geologist. I told
Ethan I would have someone look into it."

The coloring of Klaz's skin started changing to a darker tone as his
frustration began to mount.

" Geologist ? You mean the science department's equivalent of a Dentist."
Klaz said harshly.

" What?" Patters asked.

" Geology isn't meant to be taken seriously, but I'm here for the sample,
give it to me " Klaz demanded.

" What's the issue? " T'Gema asked, poking her head into the geology lab.

Klaz turned around and looked at her.

" Oh great, another geology wizard. "

T'Gema crossed her arms.

" Excuse me Ensign. I'm a Lieutenant. "

Klaz clapped.

" Good for you and I'm a doctor." He said then turned back to Crewman
Patters and held out his hand.

" Sample now!"

Patters handed over the unchecked sample.

" Here you go."

When Klaz turned back around T'Gema was right in his face, her bright blue
eyes glaring at him.

" Doctor or not , you will respect my rank and adhere to protocol."

" Fine Lieutenant whoever , Please move Soni can find someone who isn't a
rock smasher to run an analysis on this sample. " Klaz said, holding it up.

T'Gema looked at the sample then back at Klaz's large black eyes.

" I'm not a geologist , I'm an astrophysicist and biologist ."

" Then can you run an analysis of a discrete sample ? " Klaz asked.

" I can't, but my equipment can. Follow me." T'Gema said, Klaz followed.
She lead him into her lab.

" This place is a mess. " Klaz remarked.

" I just got here today, apparently no one has used this lab in several
months, it's said to be haunted. " T'Gema said.

Klaz looked over his shoulders in both directions.

" Haunted ? Like a ghost ?"

" Are you a child ? " T'Gema asked as she took the sample from his hand and
inserted it into the machine for analysis.

" I'm one hundred and two years old. I'm old enough to be your great
grandfather. Besides, you said it was haunted. " Klaz said.

" I guess the word haunted was the wrong word to use, I meant it like ,
this place was the scene of something bad. A member of the crew killed
themselves during a fight with two other officers…right where you're
standing. " T'Gema explained and looked at the machine.

Klaz tensed up.

" Well people die. Did you find anything ?"

TGema pulled up the information from the analysis and projected the
findings in front of them.

" Calcium, magnesium, potassium, wait…"

Klaz looked.

" Where the in hell is the fluoride and sodium ? "

T'Gema opened up the files from the analysis on a nearby terminal.

" They appear to be mineral substitutes. Synthetic minerals. "

" Do you have anything that matches them in our records ?" Klaz asked as he
stepped closer to her.

" Doctor , there nearly a million Synthetic minerals in our records, but I
can run a search for matches." T'Gema replied and began running the
Synthetic minerals through the computer.

" There are two matches. Prexiu/Sodium and Tri-letic fluoride. "

" Prexiu ?" Klaz asked.

" It's a mineral bonding agent, seriously over a century old and you don't
know these things ? " She asked as she analyzed the data.

" I'll remember that when you need a check up Lieutenant." Klaz barked
back.

" Tri-letic minerals had strict limitations placed on them. Letics were
chemical compounds developed in the 2350's to strengthen mineral integrity.
I've never seen a Tri-letic and a Prexiu mixed together, except for in…"
T'Gema turned to Klaz with shock in her eyes.

" What ? What is it? " He asked.

T' Gema grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

" THINK THIS IS FUNNY DON'T YOU?" She yelled.

Klaz started panicking.

" What ?"

" Bringing me a sample of synthetic minerals that have only been used in
research to nullify the effects of Thalaron radiation." T'Gema said with
anger as she gripped his collar firmer.

" I swear it's all just a misunderstanding. " Klaz responded.

T'Gema let him go.

" It looks like someone found a way to make people resistant to radiation.
Research into mixing Tri-letics with bonding agents was brought to an end
when it was discovered that in order make someone resistant you had to
alter them genetically. " She explained.

" Send this information to Dr. Kruze and myself. I'm Dr. Laz Vulon. " He
said.

T'Gema shook her head in agreement.

" I have to get back to sickbay. " He said as he left.
