Mission: Space Was Cool Before It Mattered
Day: 2
Stardate: 2446.04.26
(Exeter - Holosuite 7 - CEO/2O, Cmdr. Keira Merek - 1047)
" Willams sparring program number 4 , created on stardate 2445.09.01, by
Trip Willams and Ravok Shara as a combat enhancement sparring partner
programmed to learn from, adapt to and anticipate the actions of my user.
Programmed with 1,944 personal logs of Lieutenant Commander Ravok Shara, I
am able to construct personality profiles of those mentioned in the logs."
the hologram stated. Keira couldn't decide if it was stating all this
information matter-of-factly or if she was just projecting emotions onto it.
"Any of these entries mention me?" Keira inquired. She had never opened or
read any of Ravok's personal logs. She considered them that; personal. He
was, she felt open enough with her that she didn't need to go through his
things to prove or disprove anything. He even told her the various times
when women, and men, made passes at him. It seemed every other week at one
point. Especially the mission to Trill Prime.
" 498 logs are primarily about you, with an additional 208 logs making
mention of you. Since a total of 36.3168724% percent of all the personal
logs are about you or make mention of you , I have created a personality
profile based on the information provided in those logs."
She saw the hologram's eyes observe her as she was observing the program.
~The sparring algorithms, no doubt. ~
"When was the first log that mentions me?" She was curious. Her father
would chastise her for not taking advantage of information that presented
itself so readily.
" It's not getting any easier, she hurt me. I loved her. I still can't
believe she wanted me to lie to her parents and say I was Vulcan. It's been
nearly three days and the pain has only gotten worse. Although something
happened today, I was walking outside and walked past the most beautiful
woman I've ever laid eyes on. Another Cadet, we didn't say anything to each
other. She just smiled at me as she passed. It probably meant nothing , but
to me in that moment and just for a moment my pain disappeared. I didn't
feel alone…I sound like an idiot now. I should have said hello , but my
nerves got the best of me. I want to look her up…what am I saying ?
Nevermind, end log." Gram concluded the play back.
Keira wiped away a single tear. She remembered that moment, the moment he
told her about thinking back to that moment, anyway. It was just a smile at
a cute boy passing by at the time, but hearing it again through Ravok's
logs and in his voice even if it was such a flat affect, brought it all
flooding back.

"It's a moment of emotion. It will pass." She said.
(Reply Gram)
"No!" Keira said a little more urgently than she intended. "I mean...." she
composed herself and moved a stray lock of hair out of her face and behind
her ear. "....that won't be necessary."
(Reply Gram)
"I came here to exercise," she said. "Computer, Tlhlngan Horey'So!"
The holosuite grid was replaced with an ancient Klingon training arena.
Which isn't as formal as all that you would find on Earth or Vulcan. It was
essentially an abandoned mine hewn out of the mountain side ages ago with
mining lasers that had stopped producing ore that had found a new purpose.
Braziers stood in the four corners of the space about shoulder
height casting warm orange light and long flickering shadows everywhere.
Off to one side was a rack with all kinds of various Klingon weapons, two
of each.
"I never got to train with Ravok." Keira began. "I was wondering if instead
I could train with you?"
(Reply Gram)
Keira picked up a bat'leth variant that had a metal staff wrapped in
leather between two blades, one with a standard configuration, one with a
sharp hook. "You said you had his logs, and that you could approximate his
personality?"
(Reply Gram)
"Do it." Keira said while picking up the weapon.

awakening the same evil within ourselves. Our first instinct is to seek
revenge when those we love are taken from us, but that's not who we are." -
