(Exeter – Shuttle Bay One – SMO – Ensign – Ciri Kovak -1936)

 

She saw the Master Chief walking towards her with purpose. She gave amental smile it was not long ago she would have been freaking out when a masterchief made a bee line towards you. She had been pacing the shuttle bay tryingto mental see the pattern of movement. She had done this at the academy so the knowledgewas there but actually doing on a real starship where mistakes would be costlyshe was wanting to make sure everything was done properly.

 

“Evening Master Chief.”

 

He stopped in front of her and nodded respectfully.

 

“Evening Ensign.”

 

“What can I do for you Master Chief.”

 

“Have you received the shuttle movement request yet?”

 

She was not surprised that he knew about it. The Chiefs always seemed toknow most things that were happening before the rest.

 

“Yes Chief, here it is. I have the preliminary movements here.”

 

She handed him the PADD and she watched him scrutinise it carefully.  

 

“What’s you plan sir.”

 

“Well, we are getting off loads from the USS Pete Mitchell and TomKazansky. I don’t want to have any bottle necks during tranfer…”

 

She saw the Chief twitch slightly and ghost of a smile danced across herface as she passed his her PADD. 

 

“..but if the Master Chief has any suggestions I would be happy to hearit.”

 

She saw the control reassert itself as the Master Chief went intoteacher mode as he scanned its documents. 

 

“We do have the space in both shuttle bays to hold the new shuttles, butI would suggest cross decking all the departing shuttle to shuttle bay 2 andhaving the shuttle bay 1 clear. Then bring all the heavy stuff here first…”

 

He pointed to the deck.

 

“...as bay 2 is clearing and then we can fit the others in there when itis clear.”

 

She nodded thinking about the points as she turned to the observe thewhole shuttle bay landing area.

 

“We can put the Charon, dropship here and put the Red River and theArgo’s in Two. Especially as we will have to do a new to station service whenthey arrive.”

 

She saw him nod and was pleased. 

 

“What about the Commander’s option about using transporters?”

 

“The Commanders plan is sound depending on how many pilots we get from thechief.”

 

“Okay lets get all the movement orders started before I comm LieutenantFrost and give her then plan.”

 

“Sir I would suggest moving the alert shuttle to the forward starboard spoton both bays in case of emergency and ease of launch.” 

 

“Way ahead of you chief. I will allocate two of the red rivers as theother one is on routine maintenance.”

 

She saw him nod and she got her head back into the puzzle that wasshuttle tetras. Once they were happy with the plan, she tapped her comm badge.

 

“Lieutenant Frost this is Ensign Kovak.”

 

(Reply Frost)

 

“Evening Sir sorry to bother you. We have come up with a cross deck planto deal with the new shuttles that we are getting tomorrow.”
