(USS Pete Mitchell - Officer's Mess - MXO, Lt. Major Sean Masters - 0607)

 "You're a fleet brat too, huh." Billy said with a chuckle. "Welcome to the
club. Dad was an ops officer, then a flight officer, then a first officer,
then a JAG officer, then a Flight officer again, then a First officer
again, then a Commanding Officer, then a JAG officer. Mom was just a
counselor."

~Discussions around the dinner table, I'm sure mom loves being called
"just" a counsellor, with all the jobs your pops did I'm sure the misses
kept his head on straight.~

"Yup, us fleet brats sure do get around." Sean confirmed.

"So, your group has a lot of newly minted Romulan officers, I served with a
Romulan officer before. Decent fellow, before his brain got all scrambled.
Shame what hapened to him." Billy paused. He too had his brain scrambled by
the empress, but unlike Ravok, his brain had not been permanently
scrambled. "But that feels like ancient history now."

~Only place in the fleet with Romulan Officers was the Exeter, where we are
going, so he served on her.~

"Empress?" Sean mulled over that word for a second, " seems you've lived
some things that the 'fleet and the Corps decided to tell me nothing about.
Some things never change, Marines still get treated like fungi, left in the
dark and fed garbage."

"So, if you don't mind me asking, XO to XO so to speak, how do you feel
about that, being an expiremental unit, with a Romulan CO, and 8 Romulan
and 2 Reman subordinates, straight from New Romulas herself?"

" You meet this new MCO I'm going to work for?" Sean asked.

"Pity I'd love to pick your brain for something substantial." Sean said.
"To answer your question, from what I hear this guy is experienced and he
knows quite a bit, looking forward to working with him, and learning what I
can."

"The rest of the team, since I've just run them through an exercise, I got
a peek into how they think," Sean said. "I like what they're putting down,
fresh ideas. Once I talk to the new CO, we'll see how that factors into our
policies and procedures."
