(Unknown Planet - Tactical Ensign jg Jori - 0535)

Jori had remained lying on the ground, carefully watching everything happening on the ledge below. The situation was still potentially serious, as they knew nothing about Olympia. She could be a friendly person thankful for being rescued or she could be an enemy biding her time. For all any of them knew, the woman could kill them all and take the runabout.

The only thing that gave Jori any bemusement, was Lieutenant Commander Shara and Olympia making engine sounds and moving their hands like flying ships. It was humorous, as it reminded her of children playing.

Shara had a quick conversation with Doctor Kruze. From what Jori could hear through their respirators, it seemed Lieutenant Winters was suffering some sort of ill affect from falling into the purple substance.

=^=Alright, Ensign. Come down here. I'm going to bring the Muskogee to our position. Lieutenant Winters doesn't have the luxury of waiting. Wouldn't want you left behind.=^= said Shara.

A few seconds passed while that registered in Jori's mind. She understood the need for haste when someone required immediate medical care. However, since they could remote pilot the runabout and land it on the ledge, why didn't they do that in the first place?

She got up, brushed off the dust and dirt, and holstered her phaser. Making sure all her equipment was secure, she prepared to descend from the cliff edge.

=^=Olympia is a non-threat. Take it up with command when we get back.=^=

Of course, Shara had no way of knowing that, so it made her wonder why he said it. His tone was kind of snarky, so Jori surmised he may not have appreciated her asking to stay topside the first time he told her to come down. It was probably just a guy thing.

Jori easily made the downward climb. Disconnecting herself, she took a position with her back to the cliff, far enough away from Olympia so she couldn't be struck. She casually unslung her phaser rifle, facing Olympia's direction, though pointing to the ground.

If Shara said something later, she would be completely fine with a dressing down. This was still an unknown situation, so she was going to follow her training.

A few minutes passed and Jori could hear the sound of the Muskogee. As it flew overhead, there was a downward draft that blew dust and gravel across the ledge, pieces sounding like chimes as they struck the metal of the crashed ship.

Shara opened the runabout door. "Let's go!"

Jori waited, intending to be the last to board. Maybe everything would be fine; it probably would be, but if something bad was going to happen, it wouldn't be because she was unprepared or didn't do her job.
