Mission: Andromeda's Chain
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.03
(USS Exeter – Deck 5, Corridor – aFO, Lt. Cmdr. Keira Merek – 0524)
"We need to go down two decks. This should bring us approximately two junctions away from where Ailynn is." Erin said.
“Ok, let’s go.” Keira said and pressed the key that opened the hatch.
"Wait… it occurs to me that we have both just taken each other on face value. Neither of us know for sure that we are who we say we are and not under the control of or involved with this mutiny."
“Seems the long way to go about it, don’t you think? If you were one of them you could have just made my console blow up with that gas and been fine. I could have just let the two security guards in…” Keira offered.
"Apart from your scans, we need to be sure… I mean, I could be leading you to the Commanding Officer and you could be involved.." Erin countered.
“You already told me a general location, if I were in this mutiny there would not be a better time to betray you than now. Showing trust for your plan should prove better than any scan whose side I’m on.” Keira said, getting slightly annoyed. ~Time is wasting, but I do see her point. What if I was a deep cover sent in to find things out?~
"Fair point. So what do we do?" Cortez said.
Keira opened her case and brought out her tricorder, “We start scanning to get this over with, so we can move on.”
"We have a finite window here. So scan me. Tell me if I exhibit any of the same readings as the two that came for us. Then scan yourself and show me."
“Okay.” Keira popped the tricorder open, and began scanning. She compared the results with the earlier ones, and no match. She nodded and then turned the tricorder on herself and gave it three long slow passes and presented the tricorder to Erin.
(reply Erin)
“Satisfied?” Keira asked. Letting the hatch swing wide.
(Reply Erin)
“We get down to the right deck and I hang back. You verify and speak to Ailynn, and call for me and then I approach.” Keira said going over the plan again. “If Ailynn is playing the long con you’ll let me know, then I take off to enact plan Charlie. Cause as much Chaos as I can.”
(Reply Erin)
“Our distraction, almost forgot.” She reached over to a nearby panel and executed the worm start command.
(Reply Erin)
“I started the selection with loud first. “Long Tall Sally” by Little Richard. Then as songs are played they progress to more and more annoying. Ending with a pre-war boy band called Hanson named after three brothers that were in the band. The song is called “MMM Bop” I used it on one of Ravok’s Flight Officers who made fun of our dance in the Red Sands.” Keira explained. “After one hour of that it’s static, various alarms and warbles. Also consoles, doors and turbolifts will start malfunctioning long before that.”
(Reply Erin)
“Sometimes I access the Romulan side of my nature, I can be quite devious, let’s go.” Keira said following Erin into the Jefferies tube and closed the hatch behind them.

“The only way to defeat fear is to tell it 'No'." No - we will not take shortcuts on the path to righteousness. No - we will not break the rules that protect us from our basest instincts. No - we will not allow desperation to destroy moral authority.” - Michael Burnham, Star Trek: Discovery
