Mission: Andromeda's Chain

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.03

(USS Exeter – Astrometrics - CSO Lt Erin Cortez – 0443)

“We’ll need to find someplace out of the way with some space to work, and
plan. We try to lock out systems while we can, but stay uncaptured while we
take stock of where they’ve taken, and surmise if they’ve captured Bracken
and try to find some way to communicate with her, without them knowing.”

Erin smiled, "I have a way. Just find me a console and I can take care of
it. She still has her crystal."

“I remember that, you’ll have to elaborate a bit on it once we’re somewhere
safe for now.” Keira said and opened a panel in the wall to reveal a crawl
space. “After you.”

"Once more into the breach… " Erin said as she climbed inside. Something
about the Jefferies Tubes never sat well with her. But she bit her lip and
moved forward enough to allow space for Keira to get in comfortably.

she heard the doors to astrometrics open and glanced at Keira in a silent
'what's going on '.

“They’re approaching the consoles.” Keira narrated, “Accessing…. there it
goes.”

"Things bad begun make strong themselves by ill." Erin said softly under
her breath. The fact that she had had to knock out members of the crew
weighed heavily on her and she knew that before the day was done, more
would be needed, perhaps more drastic action.

“They’re out, nice work.” Keira congratulated Erin, “And diffusion does
it’s thing…. and the gas passes harmlessly out into the corridor with far
too low a concentration to take us out.”

"Exactly. In fact we should be okay now."

As she stood tall and stretched, Erin did the same as Keira. The weight of
the rifle in her hand was almost foreign to her but she out on a determined
face as she set the phaser to heavy stun.

“Now we’re armed and there will be a slight delay between when they wake up
and when they call for back up. If it’s not already on the way.”

"We should skeedaddle then. Any ideas?"

“I gave it some thought, we’ll need to head to some place with a
replicator. I’ve got a plan to cause some more havoc.” Keira boasted.

"I bet you do. I need a console to contact Ailynn. Much as I trust you
right now, I don’t want to say anymore. Where are we heading?"

“A present from Trip. When Ravok and I asked to live together, Trip was
concerned neither of us would have a place to cool off, so he set aside a
crew quarters, one of the ones with the bunk beds for in case we had a
fight. We haven’t had to use it, but it should be empty.”

"Sounds like a solid plan." Erin said as she fixed the PADD holding her
data in the waistband of her uniform trousers and holsters her rifle.

“Not too far from here a couple of decks up on deck 5. I can modify the
room’s replicator for my needs, at least it will be more comfortable than
the hard deck grating of the Jefferies hubs.” Keira said.

"So long as there is space to work for me then we could be heading to the
brig for all I care. Let's go, Kimosabe!"

“I’ll lead the way.” Keira said ducking back into the crawl space.

"Oh fantastic…" Erin muttered as she followed suit, shutting the Jefferies
tube behind her.

"So, Keira… has Ravok told you anything about what happened in that other
world?"

As they rounded a junction and began to climb, Erin sighed, "No reason
really. I was honestly glad of his… company."

(Reply Merek)

"A conversation for another time perhaps?"

(Reply Merek)

"So, are you able to mask our location again once we get where we are
heading? I only ask because I don't know if Ailynn is…. Well, herself. I
don't want to take any risks by contacting her and have our position given
away."
