Mission: Andromeda's Chain

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.03

(USS Exeter – Astrometrics - CSO Lt Erin Cortez – 0429)

“Yes. I won’t steal you or the Captain’s thunder.” Keira reassured her. “
The Captain will eventually have to break the news, but I’ll let her do it
on her own time.”

"Stealing my thunder has nothing to do with it. Commander's orders are to
keep the circle tight. Right now only you and I know for certain. There are
three others that know I suspected where we are but not that I had
confirmed it."

“Did you have to recalibrate the sensors to get your readings?”

"That and tap into the sensor data from the probes and calibrate with
acceptable allowances for stellar drift in the interim time frame." Erin
replied a little short. She knew what her friend was asking but her manner
took over. Sighing, she looked at her and smiled.

“You know, it feels like forever since we’ve caught up, with all we’ve been
through. Though in actual galactic time it’s been less than a hand full of
days.” Keira said.

"Yeah, I know…" ~and waking up naked next to your beloved and trying to
seduce him at one point…. That's gonna go down well.~ she thought to
herself.

"When this is done and we are back where we should be, we should catch up.:

“I’m sure Ravok is game, and I wouldn’t be able to keep Rayna away from you
with a force field. Pencil it in for tonight, unless something pressing
comes up?” Keira offered.

"Girls night? Definitely. " Erin replied, hoping that Keira would not
elaborate or that she wouldn't catch the subtle hint.

“Sounds great.” Keira said with a smile.

"You heading back soon?"

“I won’t be going straight up to the bridge. Probably take a detour through
my old stomping grounds before I head back up.”

"Make sure that Lieutenant Hammersfield hasn't wrecked engineering?"

“Good talking to you…” Erin barely turned at the sound of the doors opening
and closing. Taking a breath, she wiped all the data from the main computer
and the backups on the secure server and transferred them to one single
PADD which she then placed beside her, locking it to her biometrics and
hers alone.

As she picked it up, she spotted Keira coming back into astrometrics,

"Can't keep you away?"

“We will not be alone very shortly.” her friend said. Erin, tilting her
head, looked at her and replied,

"Okay… what?"

“If you could lock out the internal sensors, I’ll start checking the major
systems.”

"Stop a second… what is going on.."

“Engineering….” Keira said out loud as she checked systems, “bridge…” the
space between sections got smaller as each was called off, “tactical….main
computer….external sensors.”

"Keira, stop. Damn it woman, stop and tell me what is going on?"

(Reply Merek)

"Oh… wait…. What? Why here…. There's nothing of importance here except… "
Erin’s eyes dropped to the PADD in her hand, "Keira, I wiped the data off
the computer. This is the only record of where we are. If what you are
saying is true they can't get it."
