(Toronto, Canada - Maple Academy Of Dance, Concord - Lt Greta Smith/Donna
Mills - 1302)
Standing in the studio, Donna smiled at the young kids as they walked in
the door, waving their hellos. She had been a dance teacher here for a long
time and loved it. Even after getting the odd role on tv shows that had
been filmed in and around the area, she made time to make sure that her
kids would always have a teacher.
Most of them were always excited to hear stories from the various sets that
she had been on. Almost always it had only been for one episode up until
she had landed the recurring guest spot on USS Exeter. Even then, every
Friday evening when some of the crew went out, she came back to the studio
to teach. The teenagers that she taught were always asking about what it
was like to make out on camera with Richard Evans who played Ire.
Smiling, she simply replied with a question of, “What do you think?” and
winked. The younger kids, many of them who were there with her at that
moment, always wanted to know how they filmed the space battles and the
fight scenes. Looking at the class as they began the warm up that they all
knew well, Donna’s heart was full.
Whether she continued as Lieutenant Greta Smith for the next season or not,
she knew that she had a job here and people that depended on her. A lot of
these kids didn’t have much and looked forward to the class every week.
“Okay people. Shall we begin? Big show next week.” As the assembled group
cheered, Donna smiled widely and pressed play on the music that was their
routine and stepped back to let the kids show her what they had remembered.
