(Toronto, Canada - St Michaels Hospital - NPC Nurse DJ Turkelton & CSO Lt
Erin Cortez/Genevieve Rhodes - 1144)

"Good Morning Ms Rhodes, how are you feeling? I'm DJ, your nurse, you've
had a little bit of trouble I see, care to talk me through it?"

Erin stared at the man for a split second, ~he thinks… ~ She smiled softly,
"Got a bit of a shock is all. The room spun and I passed out."

~can't exactly say that you think I'm an actress and I saw what amounts to
the ghost of he one man that I gave myself to.~

DJ stood and made notes from what Ms Rhodes was saying. He looked over the
drip and her chart

Watching him as he looked at the thing that was attato her, Erin tilted her
head slightly, "What is that?"

"What is what? Are you feeling ok? You look a little peaky?" DJ looked back
to the monitor and saw that on the whole the woman was ok.

"The thing in my hand. What is going into me exactly?"

"Oh yeh, it's usually a shock for people, they've only ever seen them on
TV. That's your IV, currently finishing a bag of fluids for you. But I
don't need to tell you that, I've seen you in enough hospital dramas to
know what's what, you could probably run this place better than half the
real doctors" DJ laughed silencing the drip as it bleeped to signal it was
finsihed.

"Oh… okay." She replied, flatly. Turning her head away, Erin closed her
eyes, still unable to get the image of Nix walking and talking to her out
of her head. Part of her knew that it wasn't him but to see him there,
shook her.

"You're a nurse?"

"Last time I checked. Although, im trying to make it into acting. To be
honest Ms Rhodes I was over the moon to pick your chart up, imagine, you
here in our hospital, I don't suppose you can give me a few hints? A few
names. To be honest I'm not a fan of the whole Exeter thing, completely
unbelievable I mean, really people in space. I prefer your earlier work,
you know real life stuff not make believe. I've been a big fan, some might
say I'm even your number one fan. If you've got a few moments I'd love to
hear your stories."

"Stories? From what I know, I have a few." Erin paused and looked back at
him, "What earlier work? Surely you can't mean the Las Vegas incident that
seems to be going around?"

"Las Vegas? You must be feeling ill, I've never seen anything like that. I
mean your other acting jobs, city hospital, what was that one where you
played the woman who was getting a divorce? Oh how embarrassing I should
know this, you were in it with that man with the funny nose. Oh anyway,
what's it like, with all the lights and noise and hubbub, probably far
better than playing that silly woman pottering around in a lab, they really
have given you a dud part. I was the first the write to the studio, an
actress of your caliber should be playing Ailynn, the first officer...hell
you should have been the Captain!" DJ sat next to Erin and filled the chart
out as they spoke he hung in her every word.

"I'm not…. Sorry, Erin’s not Captain material. She's happy in her lab. To
be honest, it makes a nice change. I know that people didn't think I could
handle that role. Someone like her that has been through so much, dealt
with so much and hasn't grown into herself yet. From what I know, it's
different from Genevieve. She's strong, loved and appreciated. Erin… isn't
strong. She's vulnerable and… she…. I… it's sometimes difficult to know
where Genevieve ends and Erin begins and I'm not making a lot of sense am
I?" Erin replied.

In her mind, she was feeling more and more like this was a place she could
be. She felt wanted, like her opinion mattered and here was this guy,
listening to her every word.

"That's my point though, they've cast you in the wrong role. You're fire,
you're a fierce actress. Hell those other roles youve played have been
fantastic. Strong woman and now youre sat in a lab playing someone who
doesn't know who she is. Completely not you, really I wrote to the studio
they didn't reply but you've gotta get a better role. Bring some …"

"Bring some what? It's… I like Erin. But, sometimes, I wish she was more
outspoken. When Nix died, she could have raged, especially whether thought
it was her…"

Rof that pizazz you're known for Ms Rhodes. But I only watch it because of
you. What's been your favourite part?"

"There's been so many…" Erin said, hoping that he wouldn't realise she had
no clue what she was talking about, "...but I am really enjoying doing
something different with Erin. I'm hoping that she gets better luck this
season."

"Why did you become a Nurse, DJ?" She asked, hoping that there would be no
more tricky questions.

DJ laughed out loud "like you want to know my story. Look I gotta go and
check a few more people and I need to prep your insurance. I'll be back
soon and if you need me just press the call buzzer"

"The what now?"

"Well, the good news is there doesn't look like any real damage, you're
being kept in for a few more hours for observations though."

"So" DJ looked around "are there any Orians hiding around here?" He winked.

Erin winked, "It's not the orions, it's the ferengi you have to worry
about."

DJ grinned, this morning was going to be his ticket out of this dump. "I'll
be back soon"
