EXETERRPG: (1 - 1027) CSO Lt Erin Cortez/Genevieve Rhodes

Mission: Lights, Camera….Action?

Stardate: 2446.01.01/2025.06.30

(Toronto, Canada - Metro Toronto Convention Centre - CSO Lt Erin
Cortez/Genevieve Rhodes - 1027)



As the crowd expressed their delight at the song she had sung, something
surged within Erin. A sense of acceptance and happiness. Smiling widely at
the crowd, she glanced over her shoulder and saw Ravok appear on the stage
with another guy dressed obviously as a Romulan. Raising an eyebrow at him,
she walked over to Ravok and gave him a quick hug, whispering, “Who is
that?”



(Reply Ravok)



As she hugged him, she heard the crowd respond with a cross between
excitement and love for the pair that they thought was Genevieve and Kyle.
Letting go of Ravok, she turned back to the crowd and gave them a wave. As
she did so, she caught sight of someone in the audience. A face that she
had not expected to see. Her eyes widened slightly as she turned back to
Ravok and hissed under her breath, “I swear Ire is out there.”



(Reply Ravok)



Erin turned to watch as the crowd began to disperse and she became suddenly
aware of someone approaching them. Looking at the man, she recognised him
as the same person that had collected her from the room they were in with
Ravok’s parents and smiled, “Stephan, right?”



Stephan nodded and said, “Miss Rhodes, i know that this is not normal but
one of the people who asked a question has asked if you wouldn’t mind
saying hi to them.” Glancing back at Ravok, she sighed softly, “I’ll be
fine. Just don’t go anywhere.”



(Reply Ravok)



Following Stephan, Erin walked to one of the sides of the stage and
immediately recognised the young girl that had asked about the single
earlier. Smiling at her, Erin sat down on the steps leading up to the stage
and said, “Jamie. I remember you.”



The young girl smiled back and replied, “Thankyou. I know that this is not
something that normally happens so thankyou for agreeing to just talk to
me.”



Erin nodded, “What can i do for you?”



Jamie shuffled her feet a little, obviously nervous. Erin smiled at her and
gently, took her hand, “Hey, i don’t bite. What is it?”



The young girl looked at her and spoke, “I wanted to tell you thankyou. You
are…. Just amazing. You don’t worry about what people think about you and
you, just by being you have given me the confidence to be me. I’ve had a
hard life, like Erin has, and seeing you and reading about how you have
dealt with things and how you are in your normal life…. It gives me so much
confidence to speak my mind. You have no idea how much you are loved by the
fans here.”



Erin, completely taken aback by this young girl’s words, opened her mouth
to reply but no words came out. Jamie, seeing that this was affecting her,
continued, “I didn’t mean to upset you. I just wanted you to know that we
see you. I, for one, love you for who you are and the fact that you take no
BS. You make no apologies for who you are and you always keep fighting.
Through all the bad times, those three words you spoke about in that
article a few years ago, they stuck with me. So, thankyou. You helped me
through a bad time without even realising you were doing that. Just by
being you.”



As she spoke the last few words, Erin felt a slight tear fall down her
face. She wiped her eye and pulled the girl into a tight hug and whispered,
“Thankyou.” Letting her go, she watched as the girl walked back off to her
friends and sat on the stairs in a daze of emotion.
