(USS Exeter – Nine and Dine – Ensign Janice Hammerfield– 1207)


 "I am having a difficult time with ...feelings. It started yesterday when I had to escort Ensign Sleeford in for questioning. I was overcome with an urge to feel emotion. I did not want to take him in for questioning. He is someone I respect. However now I am dealing with a rather frustrating sensation that I do not fully understand. "



Janice paused for a moment and looked at him before reaching down to the soup and turning it back round, “I know that you still have emotions just they are very controlled. I never imagined you would have difficulty with them?” She paused again, “Sorry that came out wrong... I meant I thought that you have practices you do to keep your emotions in check.”



" I spend 4 hours everyday training my martial skills and another 4 hours in meditation. Yet all my efforts seem to have been pointless. An unarmed human wounded me and made all my training irrelevant. I however hypothesize that Ensign Thorn didn't just wound me physically, but mentally as well. Perhaps we are experiencing the same thing ?" T'kel asked.


"Possibly – I’m no psychologist though,” she replied back, “Maybe a talk with one of the ships councillors might help. I feel a little better for it. I think its one of those things i’ll just need a bit of time with.”

“Im open to any other suggestions you might have to help,” she added in feeling very responsible for T’kel. After all he wouldn’t have been in the room if she didn’t ask him to be there.
