Stan hoped very much that the Captain would allow him to switch to science. Because after only three minutes of walking through the Arboretum. More had let Lillian loose , put down his nap sack containing his three books ,  a packed lunch and  a flask of tea. Rolled up his sleeves and started moving plants around.  
He had noticed some Betazed night roses. Had been planted far to near some Petunias from Earth. True both plants looked quite pleasing together. But the Betazed night Roses roots would steal all the nutrients from the soil. That the Petunias needed to thrive by. He could already see some foliage starting to wilt. 

Stan had to act quickly. He moved the Petunias to a much better place.

“ There ye go my wee beauties. That’s better aye.” He said giving the soil around them a gentle pat.

After sitting down he took a sip from his flask of tea. Then he tapped his comm. badge.

“ More to Commander Bracken come in please.” He said
