(USS Exeter – Sickbay – Medical Officer, Ensign JG Heinrich Kruse, M.D. – 0130)

Heinrich had gone to the replicator to get another coffee. When he returned Ewan said, “She is breathing on her own Doctor.” Heinrich beamed.

“Fantastic! Another job well done. Thank you Ewan for all your hard work. I’d anticipate a full recovery, the only thing to be watching for now is brain activity. There’s a chance she might start developing seizures and that would be more complicated.” He took a big swig of his coffee. “But she hasn’t shown any yet so who’s to say.”

He checked the chromometer. Now was the worst part of being a doctor, the waiting. “I can’t wait until my shift is over and I can pour a stiff drink.” He muttered under his breath.
