He shouted and shouted but he could not be heard. He banged his hand against the stasis field. But got a shock for his stupidity. Stan watched as the events around him played out. It all felt unreal as Ire managed to kill Maxine. If he was not feeling like the lowest of the low. Stan would have openly rejoiced. But Stan knew he would never laugh again. 

The holodeck returned to normal as the program shut down. Suddenly formaliar voices rang out. Shapes became to fill the grid covered room. Stan walked over to Erin's body. He slowly sank to his knees and sobbed.

“ I’m so sorry lassie forgive me please…..” He said. A hand touched his shoulder but More  violently to shook it off.

Stan did not see who had touched his shoulder. He stood and took off his uniform top. He placed it beside Erins fallen body. Then walked towards a corner. Were he slumped down to the ground and bowed his head. He heard voices but ignored them.
