He slowly and painfully stood up and looked a backat “Maxine”.

 

“That is not her.”

 

"Computer, where is Lieutenant Greta Smithright now."

 

[Lt. Greta Smith is in critical condition inholodeck 3. She needs immediate medical attention] the computer paused. [Lifesigns of Lt. Greta Smith have ceased. Lt. Smith is presently deceased inHolodeck 3]

 

He looked down at Greta.

 

~It is not her. It is not~

 

“She is not here. She is out there.”

 

He waved his hand to indicate outside of theholodeck.

 

"I told you, she made her choice, you madeyours."

 

He gritted his teeth and gripped his dagger tighter.

 

“Yes, I did.”


He began to move forward but the stasis field gripped his once more. It movedhim to a position slightly further than where he was before.
