(USS Exeter – Personal Quarters– CSO Lt JG Erin Cortez – 2008)



Having not been able to get back to sleep after waking earlier, Erin sat
curled up on her couch wearing nothing more that a tshirt and tracksuit
bottoms. Sighing to herself, she knew that one part of her path had been
cleared and now, it was just a question of how to deal with the path before
her and clear her name.



As she took a sip of the water beside her, a voice rang through her
quarters.

=/\= Merek to Cortez.=/\=

Picking up her combadge, she tapped it and replied,

“Keira, unless you are calling to invite me out to dinner on the holodeck
with those dancers…. I’m not interested.”



=/\= Erin I know it’s late, but I’d like you to join me in the Acoustics
lab as soon as you can. I need your help. =/\=



“Fine. I’ll be there in a minute.”

Standing, Erin pulled her hair into a tight ponytail, sighed and headed out
of her door.

Walking into the lab, Erin held her hands up in protest, “I know i am not
properly attired but, after the day i have had, i was damned if i was
putting on my uniform again.”
