(USS Exeter – Science Labs – Ensign Janice Hammerfield – 2230)

 "I know as head of security I shouldn't admit this , but I am a terrible shot with a phaser. Even though I'm a romulan, I'm pretty decent with a bat'leth . " He remarked.


"Understood,” she nodded, “I thought you might go for something more traditionally Romulan. Its an odd thing to pick up on. I can only imagine you must have had some interest in it?”



"I learned from my step mother, shes klingon and a remarkable Engineer, but she would consider the word remarkable as a drastic understatement of her abilities." He said with a smile.



“I would never have guessed. I’m sure I pale in comparison so ill settle with competent until I can work up to remarkable,” she smiled back, “I don’t imagine you are just here for the chit chat though. Is there something you needed some help with at all?” Janice sat her tea back down on the table and pulled a small tool out of her engineering kit. She gave it a wave over the device in front of her and the lights on it turned on.
