Ire gave a slight smile at that.

 

“Well that’s a good thing I suppose.”


"Ire, you're on leave, leave means not doing work. Maneuvers is a form ofwork. I need you, for your own heal, to take some time off and rest especiallygiven the the news we got last night."



“I understand what you are saying.”


"If doing maneuvers is what you need to do for rest, so be it, but you doit on your own time with someone else's equipment. So you aren't cleared to usethe Charon or any other support craft that is tied to the Exeter. Why? BecauseI want you to stop and rest."

 

“That goes both ways.”

He glanced at the bridge chronometer 

 

“Especially if you want to miss the admiral and keepRonnie happy.”
