Mission: A new day dawns

Stardate: 2446.01.30

(USS Exeter, Main Shuttlebay - 2O/CEO, Lt.Cmdr. Keira Merek -1300)

Keira had made sure that those available and willing were standing tall in
duty uniform before the Admiral's arrival. Two small groups in
rectangular formations flanking the sides of where the shuttle was cleared
to land, all standing at parade rest. She had gotten word several minutes
ago that the shuttle had left San Francisco and was en route. It was now on
approach vector.

=^= Exeter this is Shuttle Hephaestus requesting docking clearance. =^=
came a near terrified voice.

~Poor kid, probably fresh out of the academy too.~ Keira tapped her
combage, "Hephaestus this is Exeter you are cleared for main shuttle bay,
we have a spot all set up for you. Welcome aboard. Exeter out."

Not even a moment later the shuttle pierced the blue forcefield,
executed a  textbook rotation and landed exactly on the spot that was
designated.

~Damn, that kid could have been one of Trip's pilots back on Mars, wonder
why he isn't in the fighter wing, or is he?~

Keira assumed the position of attention and gave the command, "GROUP,
ATTEN-TION!"

The ramp swung down and the Admiral stepped out on to the deck, followed by
the Bos'n's whistle.
