EXETERRPG: (3, 1302) Chief SCE, Vice Admiral Folless jav Pros

(USS Exeter, Main Shuttlebay - Chief SCE, Vice Admiral Frolless jav Pros
-1302)

The Admiral tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for that near useless
pilot to open the rear hatch. He was two minutes behind schedule. The pilot
should have done his preflights a little earlier, after all everyone was
waiting on him, and you don't keep Admirals waiting. The insufferable
Admiral over at RnD of course would tell him that it would be more
efficient of his time to transport, proven technology and all. All the data
in the quadrant wouldn't get rid of Frolless' feeling that scattering your
atoms kilometers away just didn't feel natural. He certainly enjoyed the
debates, though sometimes Pros even let him win, just to keep him in the
game. Two minutes!

"We're burning starlight, kid, open the damned door." Pros snapped.

"Right away, sir!" a panicked voice came from the cockpit, and the door
began a controlled descent on its hinge. Within a moment or two the hatch
came to a soft, nearly silent landing on the deck of the shuttle bay.  As
Frolless stepped out onto the Exeter proper, a Bos'n's whisle gave off the
customary shrill three tone salute, harkening back to ancient seafaring
vessels of multiple member worlds.
