Mission: A New Day Dawns

(USS Exeter, Astrometrics Lab, Science Officer Ensign sg Xava Denlorr, 2015)

The long journey from Shagrus III, to Earth, to four years in Starfleet Academy, to finally being assigned to serve on a starship, was taking its next step. The USS Exeter had arrived and needed new crew, so Xava was assigned there to the science department.

The Exeter arriving caused quite a commotion, as from what Xava understood, was an unexplained disappearance. There were stories, rumors, and theories, but Xava wasn't privy to the truth. It wasn't reasonable to spread something unconfirmed, so she shrugged it off, knowing she may or may not ever know. Either way, her purpose was to serve her people by assessing if Starfleet and the Federation were worthy of the Shagra and she didn't need to know fleet secrets to do that.

When Xava received orders and clearances to board the Exeter, the first place she went was the main science area, where she would be spending most of her time. Since crew were on leave, she hadn't met anyone yet, but she was impressed with the equipment and resources available. She felt she could excel there.

Moving to another room, Xava heard voices, so she followed them to where two people were talking in tones that were more than casual, astrometrics. She stopped outside the door, not wishing to interrupt, but feeling like she was eavesdropping. Since she was thereto learn, she remained.

When the conversation ended, a male left the lab, rushing past her like she wasn't there. After watching him disappear down the corridor, Xava stepped inside, seeing a female.

"Excuse me, but I don't mean to intrude. I'm Ensign sg Xava Denlorr. I've been assigned to the Exeter."
