(USS Exeter - Astrometrics Lab - CSO Lieutenant Erin Cortez - 2008)



Seeing the look on Parker’s face, Erin took a deep breath as he asked,  “So
what is this all about, Lieutenant?”



Looking at her assembled team, Erin smiled, “First of all, i am sorry for
calling you all here on leave. I have a few things that i wanted to say to
you face to face rather than over comms.”

“Firstly, the last few days and weeks have been tough on all of us. From
the alternate universe to the whole thing with the Empress, It’s been bad.
We’re down and demoralised but i want you to know that my door is always
open for you. I know that sounds trite but it is the truth.”

“Secondly, our department has taken a hit recently. We lost Clarke and
Michaels has chosen to stay on earth for the foreseeable future. We are
down but not out.”

“I want you all to know that i am so proud of each and everyone of you. We
are a small team, probably the smallest on the Exeter but we are close. We
work as one and we hurt as one. I have expressed my pride in each and
everyone of you to Captain Williams.



On a personal note, I count myself lucky to be in this position. To be
leading you is an honour and a privilege. If any of you need anything,
please feel free to come and talk to me. If you have any suggestions, any
projects you want to look at, heck if you want to grab a coffee with me i
don’t mind. Come and talk to me.”
