(Earth, Arizona, aCTO Ensign sg Jori - 1230)

Choosing security and tactical as her service to Starfleet, Jori knew there were going to be times she would be fighting for her safety and even her life. The academy did an excellent job training their cadets, putting them through such a myriad of situations, they were prepared as best as was possible. Of course there would always be unknowns, but Starfleet personnel were the best there were.

Being battered about in the middle of a baseball brawl had to be one of the unknowns for which Jori hadn't trained. Though having been hit and shoved, she enjoyed putting Joshua Tucker in his place.

Able to crawl out of the morass of arms and legs, Jori stumbled to her feet, only to be looking right at Captain Williams.

"Hello, sir. I'm glad you could make it."

Williams responded by giving Jori a quick lesson on the right and wrong times to hit a batter with a pitch.

Jori remained silent, not knowing what to say. Williams spoke again, but his words were drowned out by music playing over the public address system.

When Jori heard there was going to be baseball, she showed up to play because she loved the game and to reconnect with friends. She hadn't considered Josh Tucker would be there. When he taunted her, everything changed.

Normally, when a pitcher hit a batter, there was yelling and finger-pointing and nothing more. Even the times players came off the bench, the results were mostly posturing and swearing. Only a small number of times did true fighting erupt.

There was something different today and Jori didn't know why. It had gotten so bad, fans were pouring out of the stands.

All Jori intended was to get back at Josh, but it was obvious she hadn't thought things through. At this point, she decided the best thing to do was to get off the field.

"Oof!" Jori crashed to the ground as someone tackled her.

"I have you now!" Josh Tucker sneered, his warm breath in her ear.

"Get off me, you jerk!" grunted Jori.

"You're not so tough now, eh Baldy?" Josh laughed.

Jori struggled, but Josh was too big and strong.

Wondering how much time she was going to spend in a hospital after the pummeling she was going to get, Jori was shocked when she felt Josh's weight coming off her.

"You okay, kid?"

A man helped Jori to her feet. Bewildered, she saw Josh in a rumpled heap a few feet away. Whoever this man was, he had pulled her out of a hot mess.

"Yes, I'm okay. Thanks."

This had to end before someone was seriously injured.
