(USS Exeter - Turbolift - aCTO Ensign sg Jori - 0941)

After meeting with the captain in his ready room, Jori was on her way to main security. She had been promoted in rank and in position, so it was now her responsibility to get the security and tactical department prepared for when the Exeter was ready to go back into space.

There were crew transfers, both incoming and outgoing. She would need to set up duty shifts and name team leaders. She would need to inventory weapons and equipment. She was beginning to realize how busy she was going to be.

She looked at the new rank pip that was still in her hand. Another chapter in her life was about to begin.

The turbolift stopped and the door opened. Stepping inside was Jack Roberts.

Jori stiffened, but recovered quickly, moving slightly to one side to make room for the counselor. Her fingers folded back around her pip.

"Well, fancy meeting you here," said Roberts.

Jori wanted to say something snarky, like, 'here on the ship where we both serve', but she didn't. He hadn't done anything wrong, so there was no reason to be a mean girl.

"Counselor."

"How, uh, how have you been?" said Roberts.

Jori waited until the door closed and the lift was on its way again.

"I'm fine. How about you?"

Being uncomfortable around men was never an issue for Jori, even after taking her oath. Of course, what happened, or what almost happened, probably had something to do with that.

Well of course it did! She really needed to relax.
