EXETERRPG: (1-2036) SOPS/3O Lieutenant Commander Tyrek Na'Rel

(USS Exeter -Officer's Mess– SOPS/3O Lieutenant Commander Tyrek Na'Rel-2036)


" Possibly Lieutenant, is there a problem ?"

"Not at all, sir." Alistair said with a smile. "Just curious, that's all."

" Curious ? NOTHING wrong with that Lieutenant.  I'm sure by now you must
know at least half the faces of the people you serve with " Tyrek responded.

"I mean, I think I at least know the faces of most of the crew, though
we've had a lot of transfers in and out, so things are a bit, well, you
know, all wonky."

" Yes there has been a lot of movement. It's actually down right shocking
how many people come and go. " Tyrek said seeing that Lieutenant wasn't
done and gave him a look to continue.

"But just figured with your rank pips being, well, more oval and slashy,
then the normal pips, thought you might be some sort of inspector general
or something. And I assure you sir, as an Engineer I don't do shoddy work.
Really I don't. Not to mention the remodel of the captain's suite is right
on schedule, so rest assured sir, my team is getting it done."

" Well Lieutenant. I'm sure the Captain and his family wouldn't have picked
anyone else to work on bettering their home among the stars, but you can
relax Lieutenant" Tyrek said, taking another drink from his mug.

" I'm No inspector. I couldn't tell you the difference between an actuator
on a door and the backside of a replicator." Tyrek laughed slightly.

" My rank is different because it's an acting commission. I am a transfer
from the Romulan Republic Fleet. Here as part of the officer exchange
program between our two powers. I didn't attend starfleet academy, take the
oath and get sworn into service. Therefore I am not technically a starfleet
officer, so I don't wear the same indicator of rank as you do. Yet,
Starfleet has been generous enough to appoint me to the acting rank of
Lieutenant Commander with all the powers and responsibilities of that rank,
but look at me rambling on. " He smiled and extended his hand to the
Lieutenant.

" Lieutenant Commander Tyrek Na'Rel, Chief of Strategic Operations and
third officer aboard the Exeter."

" Assistant Chief engineer ? Well you are certainly one of the last people
I'd want to upset on this ship. The Chief Engineer on my last ship would do
what she needed to do to remind us who had true power. Literally true
power. Upset and engineer and they could make your life unpleasant. " Tyrek
smiled and looked down. He hadn't thought about her much since coming
there, until just that moment.
