(Mars Facility - Shooting Range and Obstacle Course -  ACTO, Lt. JG Troy
McCoy - 1005)

"No, you weren't." Keira snapped back. She had to hold back the reflex to
strike him. Her fingers were curled ready for a palm strike.

Out of the corner of his eye Troy noticed that the woman in front of him
was reading for some kind of attack. With a speed and quickness befitting
of his nickname, he quickly set the phaser on his right hip to stun and
gripped it in his hand, ready to draw at a moment's notice. "Commander, if
I were you, I would relax your hand before you make a mistake. Bumping into
you was an accident, but striking me, that could seriously muck up your
career. Hitting a junior officer ain't gonna impress the brass." Troy
replied. ~Not to mention, I'd drop you with a stun blast before you got a
chance.~ He thought to himself. Troy McCoy was calm and sweet, but Tex
McCoy was the cockiest gunslinger in the Alpha Quadrant.

"I'm sorry. I've just been on edge lately, shouldn't have snapped at you.
Commander Merek, Exeter, and you are, Lieutenant?" She said, offering her
hand out to shake in a customary Terran greeting.

Troy relaxed and the Tex aspect of his personality sank down below the
surface. Removing his hand from the phaser he extended it. "Lieutenant Troy
McCoy, and as of 0800 hours this morning, Assistant Chief Tactical Officer
on the USS Exeter."

Troy took Merek's hand and shook it.

"Commander, I know y'all have been through hell. But you need to be careful
about the way you move your fingers. You might be able to get away with it
depending on the officer, but most of us that make up security on Mars,
especially after the Dulon incident from a few years back, well, they train
us to be keen observers and quick draws. I know an offensive posture when I
see one. I hope I wasn't out of line sir, but had you attempted to strike
me, I would have fired to stun you. We all have our training, and that's
mine."
