(USS Exeter - Turbolift - Head Counselor, Lt. JG Jack Roberts- 0940)

If pride was a sin, Jack was definitely guilty of it. He was feeling pretty
prideful about his promotion and new position. He was getting ready to head
down to the transporter room. He was going to Earth to visit his family. He
was looking forward to visiting his nieces and nephews and being fun Uncle
Jack, rather than stern counselor Roberts. He didn't really have many
opportunities to really hang out and be himself. Most people viewed him as
the counselor, and felt like he had to be on 24/7. In fact the last time he
felt relaxed and was actually connecting with someone, making a friend,
they ran out of the Starlight lounge in a hurry, as if all of a sudden Jack
had gone from Jack the counselor, to Jack the human, to Jack the ripper.
Still it would be ok. With family, he would be just Jack. Besides, he
hadn't seen Jori for weeks, so enough time had passed for things to not be
awkward.

After a brief wait, the turbolift arrived. As he entered, but before he
could say which deck, he noticed he was not alone. To his surprise, but not
shock, his fellow passenger was none other than the fleeing girl herself,
Jori. Trying his best to smile and not be awkward, he nodded to her.

"Well, fancy meeting you here." He said politely.

"How, uh, how have you been."
