Mission: A new day dawns
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.28

(USS Exeter - Ready Room - CO, Captain Trip Williams - 1603)

"He was like a brother to me."

"We share that in common." Trip replied.

"Part of me blames myself for not seeing this sooner, for not being there
for him."

"Honestly, we ran out of time. Had we had another day, a week, a month. But
there was no way anyone could catch it that fast." Trip said with a sigh.
Except he knew it, he could tell. He knew Ravok had turned. But he wanted
to make sure Ravok's close friends had hope he could come back, be whole
again.

"In answer to your question, I won’t lie and say I'm doing great because,
if this whole situation with Toronto and the trial with Ash… sorry Mrs
Williams, has taught me it's that it is okay to hold your hands up and say
I'm not doing well." She paused for a brief moment and looked at Trip as
she continued, "Am I holding up? In a fashion. There's a lot we all have to
unpack. But I have avenues. Sensible routes to follow to deal with things."

"Well that is all we can hope for, keep moving forward."

"As you know, I played baseball in high school. And after a tough loss,
coach always told us. Keep your heads up, don't lower them, don't give
people that satisfaction. Keep your head up, because even though we lost,
even though we fell short, you gave it everything you got. You left it all
out on the field. It's a matter of pride in oneself. Sometimes that's what
is needed. Keep your head up, don't give that son of a b...." Trip stopped
himself. "Don't give the circumstance the satisfaction of seeing you
defeated."
