Mission: A new day dawns
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.28
(USS Exeter - Ready Room - CSO Lieutenant Erin Cortez - 1601)
Walking up to the ready room, Erin felt a sense of trepidation. The last
few days and weeks had been trying to say the least. Ravok doing what he
had done was almost like a knife in her heart.
Part of her blamed herself for not seeing it coming and the other half of
her knew there was nothing she could have done. Taking a breath, she
pressed the panel outside the ready room and waited.
"Erin, please come in," Trip said to his science officer.
Erin walked in and nodded her hello. Taking a seat opposite the Captain,
she smiled softly, "Thankyou Sir."
"I'm sorry to say your department has taken a bit of a hit, Adala has
transferred, it sucks, but after Cade's murder, she needed, she's back
working on Earth, I guess it is her happy place."
"Understandable. I am grateful that she is okay and dealing with things. Am
I sad to see her go? Of course but she needs to process and grieve."
"You and Ravok were close, weren't you?"
Erin sighed and nodded, "He was like a brother to me."

"Part of me blames myself for not seeing this sooner, for not being there
for him."
(Reply Trip)
"In answer to your question, I won’t lie and say I'm doing great because,
if this whole situation with Toronto and the trial with Ash… sorry Mrs
Williams, has taught me it's that it is okay to hold your hands up and say
I'm not doing well." She paused for a brief moment and looked at Trip as
she continued,
"Am I holding up? In a fashion. There's a lot we all have to unpack. But I
have avenues. Sensible routes to follow to deal with things."
