Mission : The flames of Purity

(USS Exeter – Sickbay  ACTO  Ensign Paul Sleeford  13:01)



Sleeford lay on the bed, trying to get comfortable, the beds in sickbay
where designed for efficient treatment, not comfort. The niggling pan in
his  leg made it difficult to get fully comfortable, but not impossible.
Hearing footsteps enter the room Sleeford opened his eyes and sat up,
Seeing the CMO and the head nurse entering he nodded to both.



"Mr Sleeford, how are you feeling?"



"To be honest doctor, like a rouge Targ is chewing on my left knee, other
then that I’m fine.”



"I understand you've spent some time with the counselor already, but given
the extent of your injury I would like you to see her weekly, I'll get an
update from her in a month to discuss your rehabilitation, but if you feel
able to we can discharge you in the morning, but prior to that I would like
you to meet with myself and the counselor to discuss things and make a
final decision about returning to work"



Looking at the doctor, Sleeford nodded, he understood the need to spend
time with the counsellor,



"Before you leave, Doctor I’d like to thank you for your efforts in saving
my life”



"Take care"



As the CMO and nurse left Sleeford felt a sense of relief, while he was
still on medical leave, he was alive and at least he’d be in a comfortable
bed.
