Hi all.
Firstly, an apology, you'll by now have started numerous JPs that I've been
involved with over the last couple of weeks, and a few of my threads are
coming to an end. I apologise that these are so thick and fast, but I did
want them ended (or moved on to phase 2 ) by missions end. I know that some
are quite long, as most of you may appreciate, once you get in the zone
with a JP, sometimes it ends up in places that you didn't expect, and
certainly a lot longer.
If you don't already, can I encourage people to use google docs for this,
if you haven't already, the fun that you can have writing a JP live with
another person in character is unbelievable. a lot of the JPs that I've
done with Will and Jackie especially are done with them writing at the same
time, and it gives you a feel for the character at the time that being more
reactive doesn't.
This brings me neatly onto the next bit, over the next few weeks, you'll be
hearing more from me direct to you, So that I as FO, can support you, and
increase your game enjoyment, I'll be emailing you directly, reasonably
frequently (perhaps every two weeks, but that is tba.)
It will be a simple 'how are you, how are things' for the most part, but I
will also be asking if there's anything that you want to do with your
characters, things of that nature. Nothing to worry about. It will simply
be a supportive message, and a change for you to bring anything up,
thoughts, concerns etc, as well as the general things.
I meant to thank Mat H for the compliment regarding Story arcs. It's true
that I love doing these, they're a big part of my depth of enjoyment of
this game, that outside of the mission, it gives us absolute freedom to
expand our characters lives beyond their day jobs. Some of the arcs that
I've run have taken a couple of years to come to fruition, and have been a
true labour of love. So if anyone has any thoughts, or questions regarding
this, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Lastly, a challenge.
Hands up I'm probably more guilty than most, but I've found that I haven't
spread myself around enough, and there are some of you that I haven't
written with, so in the name of pushing myself and each other I propose a
challenge.
Pick someone that you haven't written with for a while, or even at all, and
write a thread, JP or whatever, could be 'work' such as a piece of
equipment that needs fixing meaning that you call for engineering,
whatever.
I'm certainly going to be spreading myself more, so watch those inboxes.
Mat L...I know I've mentioned a JP with yourself for a while now, you may
be one of the first :-P
A massive thanks to you all, this mission has been a lot of fun to write,
and it wouldn't have happened without your hard work and diligence.
Kindest regards
Mark
