(Gamma Quadrant Planet – Shuttle Michelangelo – 2O/CEO – Lieutenant Keira Merek – 1215)
Keira had made a course towards the other team, and when they were nearly there the sensors showed erratic and unstable readings for just a second, “Did you see that?” she asked, her rhetorical question was interrupted by the communications chatter.
=^= Vespers to anyone medical emergency two to beam to Sickbay, please come in, I need to get her to Sickbay, will someone answer r=^=
"Michaelangelo to Vesper. Doctor we are coming in right by you for landing. We're here to take you back home." Erin said. In the time of “Those Old Scientists” she would have made a great communications officer.
=^=I have Ailynn, emergency transport to Sickbay I need to save her=^=
"Doctor, we're a few seconds out. Stand by and we will get you there." Erin replied finding a way to be stalwart and calm despite what they both were hearing.
Looking over at Lieutenant Merek, Erin closed the comm and said, quietly,
"Get us down there."
“With best speed.” Keira said, “hold on.” Keira red-lined the engines to get them there faster than planned.”
(Gamma Quadrant Planet – Shuttle Michelangelo – 2O/CEO – Lieutenant Keira Merek 1223)
There weren’t a whole ton of options on places to put this big duranium bird down. A steep mountain nearby, a talus and scree field, and of course, don’t forget the cliff. Keira didn’t want them carrying wounded through either, so she brought the shuttle to the very edge of the cliff with the aft end as close as she could make it, in this case almost touching. When the hatch / gangway came down it landed solidly on the stone of what reminded Keira of the patio area of Ravok’s Alaska property. She placed antigravs and thrusters at station keeping, and went to go help with hurrying passengers and casualties.
What Keira saw next, she wasn’t quite prepared for. The sight of Ravok stumbling up the gangway. Her heart was simultaneously in her throat and in the pit of her stomach. Her mind could not articulate what she was feeling. Her eyes began to well up, but remembering what her father had told her. His words echoing in her head. ~True Romulans don’t cry.~ Her face distorted in anguish she approached.
" Lieu.." he wheezed. " Lieuten.." He once again wheezed. " You..ha..have the tea..m " he said obviously in pain, which mirrored how Keira felt seeing him like this. She nodded to acknowledge him giving him command of his team, not wanting to speak, fearing she wouldn’t be able to control the deluge of emotion pouring out.
“Lathuel e'lev, ” she whispered while touching the least damaged side of his face. “What did they do to you? I’ll get you home, I’ll get you all home,” she promised and left her world in her friend’s hands, and went to prepare for take off.
“Everyone strap in somewhere or hold on to your seat. Is this everyone? We aren’t leaving anyone or anything behind?” Keira called out.
(Any, but none needed)
Satisfied with the response, Keira pushed the recall button on the aft panel lifting the back hatch. She watched the hatch close all the way, but her mind was on Ravok. Worried about what had happened and how bad he really was. The snap-thunk of the hatch sealing shocked her out of her melancholy trance and she made her way to the cockpit. As she was getting under way she heard a call from the back.
"Lt Merek, could you possibly get us off this planet and within transporter range of the Exeter, once we're there use the Sickbay transporter to beam me and my patient to Sickbay." He looked at Erin "and that's an order"
“Doctor, with the field off, Exeter’s transporters can handle us from this distance.” Keira said, matter of factly. ~If you had read your ship’s specifications or the away mission briefing notes….~
(Reply Vesper)
“Tying our transporters into the Exeter, site to site will take four people at once, directly to sickbay.” Keira clarified. “Just tell me which four and I’ll get a lock.”
(Reply Vesper)
“Shuttle Michelangelo to Exeter, medical emergency four to beam directly to sickbay.” Keira spoke clearly through the channel.
(Reply Exeter)
“Ready back there?” Keira asked.
(Reply Vesper, and which ever other three he chose)
“Energizing.” Keira said and entered the command. The four people dematerialized on their way to the Exeter.
(Reply Vesper, Exeter Sick Bay, any)
