(Prophet’s Truth, Bridge - FO/CEO Atho Turil & CSO – Dr. Fave Itel – 0840)

~Three shots. That’s all it took. Lost with nearly all hands.~ Turil ruminated over that as he watched the Federation vessel pick apart and destroy the vessel that had three vessels of crew with it. Sensors hadn’t detected any escape pods, but the Exeter had activated her transporters. There’s no way they could have gotten everyone.

“Time to weapons range?” Turil barked.

“One minute.” The helm answered.

“Shall I arm weapons?” Tactical inquired.

“No. Stand by.” Turil said as he silently counted out his timing. “Helm, bring us out of warp. Point our bow at them, maximum power to speed. Tactical, transfer weapons power to impulse. Shields full power.”

“What are you doing?” Itel asked the man in the center chair.

“The humans call it “press your luck” or “Chicken”. I’m seeing who will flinch first.” Atho informed him.

“They’re hailing us.” The OPS said.

“Ignore it. Continue course.”

“Are you insane?!?” the scientist asked raising his voice. “This will certainly kill us if we collide.”

“They likely won’t survive either, that’s the point.” He said grinning and staring directly at the front monitor.

“They’re hailing us again….” OPS announced now looking nervous. “They’re locking weapons.”

“Well, doctor now’s your chance to be useful. Use our main deflector to project a tetryon scattering field to confuse their sensors, it should cancel their weapons lock.” Turil offered.

“What if they compensate?” The doctor asked nervously.

“It’ll be too late.” Turil answered.

A flurry of activity came from the science station. “Done.”

“They’ve lost the lock.” Tactical said.

“Helm, on my mark, hard to port.” Turil said holding a finger up. “NOW!” The dart-shaped vessel banked at an impossible angle to it’s own left side, rolling to the same side barely clearing the shields colliding. “Evasive maneuvers. Bring the weapons back online.” Turil grinned ear to ear knowing that the Exeter’s view screen would have shown the interceptor taking up the entire viewscreen before he banked.

“They’re firing weapons.” Tactical stated.

“They won’t be able to hit with out a weapon’s lock.” Turil said with confidence.

(Reply Exeter)

The ship rocked with the impact of a phaser hit. “Aft shields are down! Aft Polaron array is down!”

“The pup does have teeth!” Turil was impressed. “Return fire. Attack pattern Sierra.”

The interceptor pulled a tight angled loop, rolling and dodging the still manually targeted phaser fire to flank the larger ship. “Fire!”

The interceptor unleashed a three-shot burst from it’s forward polaron cannons, violet bolts smashed into the Exeter’s shields.

“They’ve compensated and achieved weapons lock!” Doctor Fave warned.

“Evasive….” Turil began to say but was cut off.

(Reply Exeter)

Exeter unleashed a barrage of phaser fire from her aft array and a single torpedo. An explosion rocked the bridge everything went dark for Turil.
