Mission: Murder on the Exeter Express
Day: 2
Stardate: 2445.12.02
( USS Exeter - Deck 8- CTO office - CTO/3O Lieutenant Ravok - 10:44 )
Ravok led Stan into his office and as soon as the door shut Ravok turned
around and looked at him. " What the hell are you doing?" Ravok asked in a
stern and annoyed tone of voice.
“ It’s quite logical if you look at it. This recent piece of evidence is
going to make me look. More then ever like Nix’s killer. Which I can assure
you I am not. Ensign Hyru may be a loud mouthed idiot with no respect. But
he won’t be the only person in security. Who thinks the same way. There is
of course others who believe I am innocent. This will cause friction
through out security. Causing a distraction you can do without. At a time
when we need to be on our toes.” Stan took a breath.
“ The real killer is still out there. We don’t even know if they plan to
stop at Nix. You need them concentrating on their jobs. Not on whether I am
innocent or not.” Stan said
Ravok was completely dumbfounded at Stan's logic. He sat down in his chair
and shook his head. "Ensign with you turning yourself in for a crime that
you claim you didn't even commit. You have just handicapped this
department. "
“ I understand that sir. But as someone once said. The good of the many
outweighs the good of the one.” Stan replied
" Here's one for you " Ravok said with an annoyed look on his face.
"Being emboldened by duty to one's self is the strength that solidifies the
masses." He said quoting an old romulan saying.
" You may think you're doing something commendable, but you're not Ensign.
You literally just allowed your paranoia to label you a suspect. You
assumed damning evidence was collected to name you a culprit in the
probable death of Commander Tyko Nix instead of allowing the investigation
to move forward in a natural progression of events. You threw yourself into
the fire. Now I have no choice but to remove you from duty , remove all
security clearances. You're lucky I don't throw you in the brig. "
( reply Stan)
" Ensign More, the investigation still continues. There are things you
aren't aware of that are coming to light. I am not arresting you. I refuse
to arrest someone who just feels like they need to prove a point or because
they are concerned about the meaningless opinions of their peers. You're a
good man Stan, but you literally just threw yourself on a sword for no
reason. " Ravok said as he covered his face with his hands and took a deep
breath. The stress was getting to him.
( reply More)
" Ensign your off duty as of now. You were worried about people suspecting
you before. Now people are gonna be even more sure that you're the one.
Thus causing them to lower their awareness and their guard. Making it
easier for something bad to happen again because now everyone will become
complacent. What we need is fear , real fear of a possible killer on the
loose , real fear motivates people, drives them. But now they think the
case is closed and even worse people are going to assume that I have taken
it easy on you by not throwing you in the brig."
( reply More)
" I will admit your tactic of turning yourself sounds very Romulan of you,
but take it from a Romulan… If you want to play the game of tactics you
must think 10 steps ahead of yourself at all times. " Ravok said. He
pulled a device from his desk.
" Wear this at all times. It will track your movements by a system that
functions independently of the ship's main computer. I will receive moment
to moment updates of your movements. Take it off and I will
personally drag you to the brig myself. " Ravok said as he handed the
Ensign More the wrist band.
( reply More)
" You aren't confined to quarters, but I am watching you
carefully….dismissed."
