Day -10

(USS Hades - Cargo Bay 13 - Science Exchange Officer - Ensign Tilkrene - 1110)
It had been an interesting morning. Tilkrene had worked on an experiment in one of the science labs with some unexpected results that had upended his current running hypothesis. Science however is repeatable and so Tilkrene had set up for another attempt with more precise instruments, but found the lab had run out of reagents that were not replicable. It was fortunate that a surplus of the compounds were stored in cargo bay thirteen.
Tilkrene's suit whirred as the door opened and they strode inside. As they walked back to where the surplus was stored the suit sensors picked up a localized heat source.
"Skreeee!" [Damage control protocols engaged.]
Moving at near top speed for the suit, Tilkrene cleared the intervening distance in nearly an instant.
(Reply MacKenzie)
The sensors on Tilkrene's suit showed an adolescent female of mixed ancestry and a series of support struts welded together in an unfamiliar configuration.
"SKREEEE-pop-pop!" [Stop what you are doing and explain yourself.] The right arm of Tilkrene's suit reached out and grabbed a piece of the welded structure and engaged the electro-magnet pads.
