Mission: Guess Whose Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 14 - Promenade Level 1- SFI Deputy Director
Michael Weston and SFI/TA T?xen Toks - 0939 )
When Michael saw Zon preparing to leave the first level of the promenade he
stood up. Looking at Tok?s he smiled.
?Well, I think that it?s time I moved on,? he said.
Toks nodded.
?As enjoyable as our chat has been, I think I?m gonna head down to the
lower level of the promenade. I?d like to get there before Dahr and Zon.?
And, of course, Quinna. But he didn?t want to say that out loud.
?Marai said it?s ok to tell you that it isn?t the bagel shop where the
protest is likely to occur.?
Toks held up a hand. ?Not timey whimey, just calculation of the known
dissidents present at this time. Want an escort to the more likely position
to protect your mate?. Oh and the president and Captain???
Toks stood from the railing and headed toward the further set of turbo
lifts. ?If you want company that is.?
Michael?s brain honed in on certain keywords, such as protest and
dissidents. Although he hadn?t expected Zon?s visit to be completely
peaceful, those words intoned some form of premeditation, which put him on
high alert.
Thinking it might be a good idea to have someone along who had a general
idea of what was about to happen, he nodded. ?Absolutely. Sounds like we
might be on for an angry mob situation and in that case the more the
better.?
They headed out of the cafe.
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3- SFI Deputy Director
Michael Weston and SFI/TA T?xen Toks - 0942)
Michael had discovered a service access way that made its way down to the
third level of the promenade, avoiding the typical travel routes. Turns out
that was a good choice as the level had already begun to fill up. It took a
lot to impress Michael Weston, but he had to admit that he was impressed by
the size of the crowd.
He looked around for a good vantage point and noted that there were, at
least, twelve security officers moving through the throng. The remainder
were, mostly, Trill citizens there to express their support, or
disagreement with the current leadership of their planet?s governmental
policies.
He frowned and looked at Toks, ?Any thoughts to a good spot. I?d prefer to
be close to the turbo lift if possible.?
Toks surveyed the area, allowing Marai to bring up holographic schematics
with data trailing of each area and each person that his eyes looked at.
The biogenic neural patch synch was a wonderful device.
?There is a mini amphitheater outside of the shops, for public
performance,? he suggested to Weston.
Michael followed his line of vision and nodded, ?That?s, most likely, Zon?s
ideal location. He?d literally be the center of attention.?
He didn?t like the idea that they?d have to traverse that distance, but he
had to trust Dahr and Samuels to protect the president. Unfortunately, he
knew his love, and she would throw herself into the foray to protect Zon as
well. However, the location was practical.
?There?s a quiet spot on the right,? he said. ?Let?s go.?
They found their position where Michael had a good view of the turbo lift,
or at least as good of a view as he could get as more people seemed to
appear as if by magic.
Then the door opened and Zon stepped out.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0940) Ensemble

Mission: Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3 - President of Trillus -
Ensemble - 0940)
When the doors to the turbo lift opened and Taylin stepped out, the
greeting that met him made him smile. Now this was the crowd he?d been
hoping for. A throng of his people cheering for their government and their
achievements since the end of the civil war. And bringing them back to the
Federation.
Stepping forward the crowd?s roar was almost deafening. His bodyguards
closed the distance as Zon kept moving along the narrow corridor created by
the station?s security forces.
Gort, at the front of the wedge through the crowd snarled at any who stood
before him and they quickly stepped aside. He looked over at Samuels, who
still stood with the president.
Samuels nodded to the Nausican, indicating for him to precede. He looked
around to give directions to Green, who was nowhere to be found. One of
the lesser known things about El Arians is that if you have been a listener
long enough, and your focus is strong enough, time can appear to slow down,
even stand still, so that you can take in all of the detail.
It was an illusion, as time did not really stand still, but it came in
handy at times like this when he needed to see something clearly, like
where his junior officers were. However, he was not able to see the
little red haired security officer. But his ears did pick up a tiny voice.
?Mommy, changing lady.? It was the small voice of a Trill child, and
Samuels had a pretty good idea of what happened. He knew he was going to
have to have a word with Green when this was all over. He didn?t object to
the changeling?s action. What he did mind was not being consulted and down
one officer when he was dire need of numbers. Now if she had the ability to
duplicate herself, that would be a talent he could use right now.
Quinna turned at saw Samuels scrutinizing the crowd, "Trouble?" Quinna
asked on instinct. Besides the increased presence on the level, the hairs
raised on the back of her neck.
Hank shook his head and frowned, ?One of my officers has gone rogue on me.
I believe she?s moved into the crowd. I?m not sure to what end.?
Tixen Toks moved within view of Weston but near the performance area to
have more than one angle. He watched as the procession moved forward and
tapped his necklace. It acted as a sensor feed for his implant to provide
him and Marai.
Quinna noted the lack of a security person with the presidential
entourage. "Do you recommend I replace your rogue? Get the flanked
covered." Quinna again showing how green she was to this side of Starfleet.
?I?d rather save that to a last resort,? Hank replied. ?No offense, but if
things go south I?d rather you be closer to President Zon.?
He tapped his comm badge, a bit irritated, ?Samuels to Green, status.?
Raven heard Samuels on her COMM Badge for a report. She had to fall back
from the crowd for a moment to take the call. When she was a few yards
away she tapped her badge.
"Raven here. I am trying to go undercover with the trill crowd Hopefully
I can draw the sensible trills away from the protesters when the time
comes. I may have an outlet with a trill child. I will report when I
can. Green out."
Samuels blinked and looked at Solice, confused. He could barely get the
words out of his mouth. ?Under cover?? Protesters? What protesters??
Quinna gave Samuels a puzzled look, "I am sorry did I miss something?
Shouldn't that have been mentioned before we came down here?" Quinna
turned to the president and his group. She noted that Green was not
there. "I am going to stick close to the president."
Raven rejoined the crowd and started talking to the trill boy. "Hi, I am
Colleen. What is your name?"
Izra turned to the stranger talking to him. It was the changing lady, He
tugged at his mothers sleeve, "Mommy?" It was almost a pleading cry. A
sense of 'Stranger Danger' took over. When his mother brushed him off
again... "What do you want?" Izra said reluctantly. They stranger seemed
to be the only one paying attention to him.
"I am here to see President Zon. How do you feel about him being on the
station?"
Izra shrugged, "Who?" afterall he was only 7 and only cared about playing
with his toys. He wondered what a president was.
Zon had managed to make his way to the amphitheater area and the crowd
gathered around the circle. Security created and adequate barrier between
himself and the crowd. Dahr maintained his place beside his honored guest.
He wasn?t sure who he was most disappointed with, Zon or the people, who
treated him as some kind of celebrity.
Samuels moved around the perimeter created by his team, shoring it up where
necessary. Minor tides of movement attempted to test the security wall,
unsuccessfully.
Michael watched from the edge of the crowd as Quinna stayed with Dahr and
Zon. He looked over at the relaxed looking Toks. The Chameliod was sending
him a message that this was not a time altering event, but it didn?t mean
that nobody could get hurt. However, he managed to stay alert, while
keeping his body relaxed.
A chant began in the crowd, which grew louder, calling out to the
president. Dahr moved up to Zon and yelled, ?You better start talking, or
this crowd is going to get ugly.?
Toks stood near an adjacent exit point of the amphitheater to Weston, he
leaned looking as if he were waiting to see what the fuss was about, but
his scans continued.
Faces flashed when warranted and then there was the flash of a Trill woman,
identified with a Starfleet insignia and the alias was Lt. Raven Green.
?The Changeling?- he thought. -talking to a child?-
The young Trill seemed to recoil as the Changeling attempted to converse
with him.
?Marai, can you give me more on the Trill woman you have marked in the
crowd? The one speaking with the Trill minor??
=^=Certainly,=^= The AI?s voice answered. =^= This is the Founder in the
File shared after your recovery and is listed as assigned Starfleet
Security using the alias Lt. Raven Green. Currently she is assigned to
Starbase Freedom and has been on the station for?.=^=
Marai continued as Tixen watched the Changeling locate Weston?s position
and then, after a few more moments of attempting to speak with the child,
headed in the shared direction of himself and Weston.
The Trill child to his credit looked visibly relieved and attempted, though
in vain, to warn his mother at the changelings departure.
At that moment, Tixen had a sudden sense of being watched. He turned to
look as he heard a voice break through the cacophony of noise of the
assembled crowd.
At that moment, Tixen had a sudden sense of being watched. He turned to
look as he heard a voice break through the cacophony of noise of the
assembled crowd.
?They say time is the fire in which we all burn,? a cardassian said walking
toward him and giving an overly flourished hand. ?Or at least Dr. Sorsn
seemed to think so.
Toks glared at the unexpected interaction.
?I prefer Jean Luc?s view. Times is the only constant companion on the
journey reminding us that each moment never comes again.?
The Cardassisn chuckled.
?Well unless you are one of the brave few who visit some moments again and
again.?
Toks glanced at his surroundings.
?Look speaking of time could we do this some other? There?s a sit?..?
?Certainly Ticks and Tocks. Most unfortunate name, didn?t your parents like
you??
Toks shook his head. ?Unless your name is??
?Geelum,? the cardassiam pressed his hair on either side as if it were
being blown in the wind.
?It is a most unfortunate name from my world. My parents apparently didn?t
like me either.?
Toks shrugged: ?Did you let them finish a sentence.?
The cardassian gave an impish grin. ?No my Darling Ticks and Tocks. Hardly
ever. But maybe one day you?ll venture back and talk them into a more
enjoyable name. Tick, tick, tick as they say.?
?Tixen not Ticks and?
The cardassian rolled his eyes, ?and Talks? Not Tocks?? He took the agents
hand slipping something in it.
?Another time it is, when we can feel the heat of the moment upon us more
to?? our liking.?
The cardassian turned and quickly vanished in the crowd, leaving Marai?s
voice to say, =^=Your contact seems gregarious,=^=
Toks almost snorted. ?Intentionally irritating is more likely .?
Michael watched the exchange between Toks and the cardassian with great
interest. Unfortunately the noise from the crowd was too loud for him to
catch more than the odd phrase. He found the Chameloid?s lips difficult
to read, and he was looking at the back of the cardassian?s head.
He moved over to the green skinned man smiling. ?That looked like an
interesting conversation.?
Toks gave Weston a concealed look at the data chip that had been palmed
during the interaction. ?And hopefully informative,? he slid it back in his
sleeve.
?After the appropriate decryption.?
Michael raised an intrigued eyebrows then looked up over Toks? shoulder. He
noticed a Trill woman who seemed to be moving towards them. His eyes
narrowed slightly as he noticed something odd about her. It was the way she
moved. A little awkwardly.
He glanced back at the Founder, in the Trill form, her skin looking a
little too smooth and painted watching Weston and approaching.
Hmmmm, -young Changeling?- he wondered. -unpracticed in shape-shifting.
As the woman got closer Weston had come to the same conclusion as Toks.
This was Lt. Green. The texture of the skin was just a little too perfect.
The spots too evenly spaced. It would pass to the typical observer, but if
someone was more aware then it would strike them as odd.
As the woman approached Michael nodded. ?Feeling a little native today, Lt.
Green??
Raven relaxed a bit knowing Weston figured out her undercover play.
"Yes, I am trying to prevent trouble from Inside the crowd??,? Raven
answered. ?My physical appearance isn't perfect but will do at the
moment. In this form I am going by Colleen. Is there anything you can
tell me of the overall crowd? Is there anything that can help me draw the
sensible trill to me when trouble starts??
Toks listened with interest. Had the security officer not been trained in
standard security protocols? Or maybe it was a lack of xeno-sociological
experience. He made a mental note to ask Weston more.
Michael fought to not roll his eyes. ?What kind of trouble are you talking
about? And have you never seen a mob before? If something bad goes down,
I seriously doubt there?s anything that you can do to draw the ?sensible?
Trills away. In fact, as mob mentality goes, you?d have trouble finding
someone sensible.?
He paused for a moment, ?Did Hank Samuels really green light your actions??

He paused for a moment, ?Did Hank Samuels really green light your actions??
Raven thought of this for a moment then responded.
"Very well I guess I am on my own on this then. It would have been nice to
have something to back up my concerns to control the situation from within
the crowd. I will have to find a way as it goes."
Raven returned to the crowd as Colleen and waited for someone willing to
talk to her.
Michael looked at the woman as she merged back into the crowd with
disbelief. ~Did she really just show me that not only did she not have her
superiors permission she really had no idea what she was up to? ~ He looked
over at Toks and shrugged. Then his attention was drawn back to the
amphitheater as the voice of President Taylin Zon began to speak.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1 -- 0942) XO Commander Quinna Solice

NRPG: This is Quinna's inner experience. No dialog no tags.
Mission: Guess who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom -- Level 16 -- Pomade Level 3 -- XO Commander Quinna
Solice -- 0942)
Quinna moved with the entourage that surrounded President Zon. When Green
went into the public to do some surveillance from within the crowd, there
was a hole in the group. So Quinna plugged the hole.
At the Amphitheater, Quinna maintained an adequate yet not too far distance
from the group. Her eyes scanned the crowd but the honest truth is that
the President?s visit ruffle in the area.
Quinna?s eyes locked with Michaels for a second. But then moved as she
scanned the crowd consistently.
A feeling came over her. A feeling of not being safe. Quinna shook it off
as a ridiculous feeling but there were many signs. She tried to find Green
in the group, but could not. At lease with her nerves on the edge, she
would be too but then again, she has been known to make a mountain out of a
mole hill on the rare occasion.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0943) Commander Quinna Solice and Lt. Hank Samuels
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Wed, 1 Jan 2025 10:47:20 -0800
Mission: Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23.
(Starbase Freedom - Level 15 - Promenade Level 2 - Commander Quinna Solice
and Lt. Hank Samuels - 0943)
Samuels watched as the President entered the Bagel shop with Zon. He did
not follow. Raven was inside already, and Gort was outside. There was a
team of eight security officers surrounding the area as well as Zon?s own
team.
He turned and scanned the crowd that had formed, waiting for the president
to exit. He was pleased to see that they were giving him the space to visit
the shop. There didn?t seem to be anything overwhelmingly malevolent
brewing in the crowd. In fact, to an extent, the spectacle was dissipating
slightly as those who had already seen their prize decided to leave.
He could not help but continue to worry about what was going to meet them
on the third level of the promenade. He made his way over to Commander
Solice.
?I think that they have everything under control here Commander,? he said
softly. ?I?m going to head down to the next level and check on how things
are shaping up down there.?
?I will come with you.? Quinna said as if she had the option, but in
reality, she really knew her place was with Samuels.
Quinna then took one last back. Before heading on, ?I believe you
mentioned that Level 16 you are more concerned about. Care to elaborate??
Hank nodded, ?Let?s just call it a gut feeling. Things have been going too
smoothly. There has been time for a larger crowd to have grown down there.
A larger crowd means more probability for something to go wrong, whether by
accident or design. The fact that I haven?t heard from my team leader gives
me some concern. Granted everyone is new in their roles.?
?The Law of Chaos is not on our side. Lead the way.? Quinna stated.
Hank moved to the turn lift with Solice beside him.
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3 - Commander Quinna Solice
and Lt. Hank Samuels - 0945)
When the doors to the turbo lift opened Hank was truly surprised by the
sheer size of the crowd. There was a sea of people standing so close
together that it was difficult to pass through them. He grabbed Solice?s
sleeve and led her through.
Hank finally located his team leader and moved to him. ?Ensign Rite, what
happened to our crowd control.?
Rider, a younger Trill shook his head. ?I don?t know, sir. They suddenly
seemed to appear. I had men posted at the turbo lift and another at the
alternate entrance. They just all came at the same time before we had a
chance to close it down.?
Hank looked at Solice, ?Recommendation?? He knew what he wanted to do, but
Zon wouldn?t be interested in bypassing the level. The next option was
becoming more of a brute squad to clear some space. Of course, they could
always just transport people away. He smiled at that prospect.
?We could always reprogram the turbo-lift to take him to a different
level,? Quinna said, half jokingly. The problem was that the people on
Deck 16 also had a right to be there. ?The only thing I can think of is to
use security to secure a path. Then have someone observing from above
watching.?
Samuels nodded, ?I concur.?
He turned back to Rider and ordered, ?Okay, Ensign Rider, I want two rows
of officers in front of the turbo lift. When the door opens they?ll need to
step away from each other and create a path through the crowd. We?ll need
to depend on the team following the president to cover his six.?
?Yes, sir,? Rider replied and waded through the crowd to gather his people.
By the time they had created a path, five bodies deep on each side, Gort
had contacted him to let them know that Zon was on the turbo lift and
coming down to the level. He continued to scan the crowd, looking for
anything out of the ordinary. Not seeing anything overtly concerning he
prepared himself for the door opening.
When the door opened all of his expectations were met. Zon stepped off the
lift and a roar came from the crowd. There was a surge forward. Gort joined
the front of the line of security personnel forming the head of a wedge.
The people at the head of the surge saw the Nausican and backed off
slightly, before the crowd behind them tried to push forward. But the
wall of security held.
Hank looked at Solice and nodded his approval of the path they?d created.
He then looked at Dahr and shrugged. This was as good as it was going to
get under these conditions.
Dahr moved over to Quinna and nodded. ?Welcome to Freedom Commander. How?s
it going??
?The welcomes keep getting warmer and warmer,? Quinna answered as she
joined the entourage wondering where they were heading next.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0945) President of Trillus - Taylin Zon
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Thu, 16 Jan 2025 16:47:45 -0800
Mission: Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3 - President of Trillus -
Taylin Zon - 0945)
Taylin Zon stepped into the center of the amphitheater and turned in a
circle so he could see the whole crowd that surrounded him. Himdreds of
Trill and other Federation citizens had come to meet with him and hear what
he had to say. This was the type of gathering that energized him. He beamed
as he lifted his arms over his head with clenched fists.
?My fellow Trill,? he started and the crowd erupted into cheers. He waited
for the cheer to die and he said again, ?My fellow Trill and other esteemed
Federation citizens.? Another cheer, but not as loud.
?I am so pleased to be among you today. I know that I have been remiss in
visiting this station but hopefully I can make this up to you today. It is
a joy to see our people with other Federation members working side by side
on this marvel of this intergovernmental cooperation. It is truly a sign of
what is to come.?
More cheers and claps.
?And what is to come? Let me tell you my friends, we are on the precipice
of a new age. An age where the Trill are not only accepted as a full member
of the Federation, but a leader in that age. We are on the cusp of a new
golden age.?
Suddenly a voice came from the crowd, ?A golden age? For who??
Zon whirled to face the voice, ?A golden age for the Trill, my friends.?
?All Trill?? the voice called out from a new location.
?Of course,? Zon?s eyes narrowed, ?all Trill.?
?Even the unjoined?? the voice asked.
Zon began to suspect the source of the voice. ?Yes, especially for the
unjoined. Joined or not you are one of the people.?
?Then why are there no unjoined in our government?? the voice continued.
Zon nodded, suddenly knowing who his antagonizer was. ?Dolan Gahns? You
already know the answer to that question.?
Gahns stepped forward but stayed to the edge of the crowd. ?Clarify? for
everyone. Please.?
?Our government is selected by the people,? he?d had this conversation with
Gahns or some of his group several times. He was aware of their complaint.
But they were a minority group. He?d hoped that having them on the Starbase
would allow them that sense of autonomy they desired. ?You know this,
Dolan. If you want to change the government then convince the voting
public. Otherwise, I speak from their voice.?
There was a cheer as he stood up to the outspoken dissident and Zon bowed
to his people.
?And I speak with the voice of the disenfranchised,? Dolan added. There was
a smaller cheer, which began to grow louder in a chant for change, in small
pockets throughout the crowd.
?We want a voice. We want a voice.?
The chant repeated itself, and there was a little pushing as some attempted
to come forward through the crowd, but were held back by those who were
already there to see their president.
Zon looked over at Dahr, who shrugged, to ask. ?What do you want to do??

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0947) Civilian Engineer Dolan Gahns
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Sat, 18 Jan 2025 12:26:41 -0800
Mission: Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3- Dolan Gahns- 0947)
Gahns gave a little half smile of satisfaction as he thought he had finally
given this ?president? a realization that not everything was, what was the
phrase he?d heard, hunky dorey on this station, and even on their world.
There was a modicum of dissatisfaction among the populace.
He had arranged for a number of his movement to be on hand for moral
support and had caught a few eyes in the crowd and looks of approval. It
emboldened him to continue. But not as much as the chanting that grew.
Suddenly a voice spoke from behind him and he turned to see who was
speaking. It was a young Trill woman that he found not recognize. Which
already concerned him.
"You have a voice,? she said. ?Your voice is heard right now. What needs
to be discussed can be discussed right here right now. Let us find common
ground."
He turned on the woman. ?I don?t know who you are, but you clearly have no
idea what I?m? we?re talking about. The Voice movement is not about being
allowed to speak. It?s about being heard. And if you can?t understand that
then you should stay out of this. You clearly do not live on this base.
After all, I?ve never seen you before and I know all the Trill on Freedom.
So you must be a fleeter, and most likely a joined.?

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0949) Dolan Gahns, President Taylin Zon and Michael Weston
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Tue, 21 Jan 2025 17:31:03 -0800
Mission: Guess Who?s Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3- Dolan Gahns- 0949)
?You are too naive, young lady,? Gahns replied, ?as well as misguided. Even
though President Zon ?hears? my words, he does not listen to what they say.
And the Federation,? he barely spat out the word, ?their silence in our
strife has been clear. They do not want to hear about our troubles. This
is an internal problem for the Trill government. So don?t tell me that I?m
being heard. We know it is not true.?
(reply Green)
Zon turned and looked at Dahr, ?Don?t know who that woman is??
Dahr sighed as he surmised that it was his newest crew member. ?I believe I
do.?
?Is the Federation now inserting itself into Trill politics?? he asked.
?They are not, Mr. President,? Dahr was suddenly very official. ?I will
have a word with her at our earliest possible moment. But if I interrupt
her now it would be? awkward.?
Zon nodded, ?Indeed.? He stepped forward. As he did his bodyguards stepped
closer. The President looked at Dolan Gahns and took a breath.
?We have, indeed, heard your calls, Dolan Gahns,? he said. ?The whole
planet has heard them. They just don?t agree with you. Trill elections are
free, and the people have spoken. Here I stand as the people?s choice.?
With that the crowd burst into cheers. The call for Zon became intermixed
and began to go over the call for a voice for the unjoined. Zon held up his
hands to calm the crowd.
?And I am here, today, to hear the concerns of my people, joined or
unjoined.?
?So you say,? Gahns replied. ?But here you have a Starfleet lackey doing
your talking for you.?
Suddenly two big Trill appeared behind Raven in Teull form and grabbed hold
of her.
?Perhaps the time for talk is past,? Gahns said. ?Perhaps it is a time for
action to show how serious we are with our? requests.?
Michael Weston had been there to make sure Quinna was safe. But it looked
like providence had fallen in favor of this? woman. As soon as she was
grabbed he moved behind the assailant and applied his hand to the side of
his neck, squeezing the carotid artery. It was not as efficient as the
Vulcan nerve pinch but gave the same end result. After a few seconds of
struggle the man?s eyes rolled to the back of his head and he dropped to
the floor.
Weston looked over at Quinna, suggesting that she should get the president
out of there.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (1-0950) Civilian Engineer Dolan Gahns
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Thu, 2 Jan 2025 14:11:29 -0800
Mission: Guess Whose Coming to Dinner
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3- Dolan Gahns- 0950 )
Dolan Gahns was an exceptionally bright engineer. However, his daughter had
surpassed his knowledge and ability when she was a child. So he hadn?t been
surprised when she had been selected to participate in the symbiont
program. It was at this point when he really first began to notice the
social status change of being in the program.
She had already become more distant through the training. After her joining
it was as though she were a different person? which, technically, she was.
Then she went off to be part of Starfleet. More distance. More time between
communications. Less information. Less Deb.
The deepest cut was when she was ?lost in the line of duty.? Deb had
always been a homebody. However, the symbiont had other ideas and took his
baby away from her world, and him. Then when she died? there was more
mourning for the symbiont than there was for the host. Her family was
easily dismissed, and they were left with just the pain of loss.
As time went along he began to notice more and more the disparity between
joined Trill and unjoined Trill, and those who were never eligible to be
joined. The third class citizens of the Trill culture. They had no voice in
their government and less privilege than the more elite Trill. Then, when
he was ordered to be part of the engineering team to put this station
together he saw he had little free choice.
Many of the Trill on the station were there because they had the gall to
speak out about the lack of equal rights and representation in the Trill
government. Freedom was a good place to put those dissenters while the vote
to rejoin the Federation went through. And many of those on Freedom where
not happy had begun to meeting so they had others to complain to.
Dolan quickly became a leader of the group. And when they learned that the
president was finally making good on his promise to come to Freedom and be
among his people there they all knew that this was the opportunity that
they had been waiting for. They quickly planned and organized. They planned
to give Taylin Zon a welcoming that he would not soon forget.
So when Zon finally stepped off the turbo lift the crowd cheered for him.
Well, most of the crowd. He lifted the small communication device to his
mouth and uttered a single word.
?Go.?

Being a chimera of species including a genetically inherited memory, Tixen was often wowed by the repetitive nature of humanoid life. It didn?t matter the world or the century, people were people.
This protestor had been predictable and clearly Weston was practiced at his job.
He?d moved like a cat as soon as he saw the Trill ruffians moving into the crowd at the protestors signal.
Toks followed silently, slipping past the crowd easily, the mass never noticing in their enthrallment to the scene.
The pair grabbed the changeling in her disguised form, Weston dropped one with a carotid blocking pinch.
Toks reached up to the second the Vulcan nerve pinch executed with care, and gently lowered the man to the floor. He made it clear he was not trying to hurt the man.
?Marai, prepare override protocol if this suddenly falls o to our jurisdiction, otherwise report anything you can support the deputy directors need.?
=^=Acknowledged Tixen. No sign of temporal agents at this time.=^=
Toks looked to Weston to take his lead, as he allowed his other eye to scan the room for more movement.

Little Trill Izra Trimond stood next to his mother. His shoulder was
aching from his hand being held above his head. Usually, the little
7-year-old would be in his mother?s dress shop in the back room studying or
playing with his toys while his baby sister would be in the corner sleeping
or playing with her toys. She did not do much. She was a baby after all.
But Izra?s mother unexpectedly picked up the baby and grabbed Izra?s hand.
>From that moment on, his arm was hurting from being held up.
He could not see why all the fuss. Why was his Mom in such a tizzy? He
thought that tomorrow he would ask his dad if he could go to work with him
instead, Looing around someone caught his eye.
Izra saw a person change. She started to pull on his mother, his free hand
pointing to the changing person ?Mommy, Mommy,? Izra pleaded loudly.
?Not now, Izra? The mother did not bat an eye or change her glance. She
was seeing history.?
?Mommy, changing lady. Changing Lady? Izra insisted.
?Enough,? Izra?s mother snapped back.

The crowd had grown to a problem. Where one may have vocally challenged
the president, the preamble to a full-out riot was about to begin. She saw
green in the middle of it. We saw Michael head towards her, but the Quinna
lost sight of him.
Her immediate priority was the President and the Captain. ?We need to get

?Agreed,? the CO said.
?I suggest a site-to-site transport from here to your office, Sir,? Solice

Zon shook his head, ?Absolutley not. I?m not ducking out leaving this idiot
the feeling that he?s chased me away. My people have every right to see me
walk away the bigger Trill.?
It was Dahr?s turn to shake his head, ?Them announce your departure and
let?s get out of here. I?m not sure what you?d planned to after this but
it?s all curtailed. I?m not putting lives at risk for your pride.?
Then he turned to Quinna, ?Commander, get Samuels and clear a path back to

Slow and easy.?

was not on board with the plan. She wondered if the president thought he
was invincible. She found Samuels. ?Let?s clear the way for the president
to depart.?
(Reply Samuels)
Quinna caught the glance of a now safe Green and off the Promenade, so her
focus was on the President. She walked the path length ahead of the
entourage and called for the turbolift. She waited for it to come. When
the doors opened, she stepped one leg in and one leg out to hold the lift.

her.
?Let?s clear the way for the president to depart,? she ordered.
Hank looked visibly relieved, ?Yes ma?am.?
He turned and tapped his comm badge. ?Alpha team, we need to create a path

you?re on mop up duty. Make sure passage is secure until President Zon is
on the turbo lift.?
He watched as his people began to shift from

Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.09.23
(Starbase Freedom - Level 16 - Promenade Level 3 - President of Trillus -
Taylin Zon - 1000)
Zon turned from the violence and addressed his people again.
?Friends, citizens of Trillus, ? he began, ?I am aware that some of us are
unhappy. But we have a system that you have selected in place. We are
approaching a new golden age for the Trill people, which has started with
our reunion with the Federation. This is only the beginning. There is much
more to come. We will make Trillus great once more. Trust me to do what you
have elected me to do.?
The chants of the disenfranchised were drowned out by the roar of cheers
from the crowd. Taylin smiled. There still more of his supporters than
protestors.
He noted the exit route forming and he raised his hands, ?My people, I am
hear for you and I will be back.?
He began to walk towards the exit tunnel that had been formed. Adoring fans
reached to touch him. One young lady threw something towards him. One of
his guardian angels snatched it out of the air, inspected it, then handed
it to Zon. It was a
Pair of woman?s under garments. Quite suggestive ones as well.
Taylin smiled and pocketed the item then allowed his body guards to move
him down the tunnel. He looked back to see Dahr close behind. His eyes
danced across the crowd looking for danger. Gort stood beside him and if
any had the inclination to move any closer his look kept them at bay.
They finally made it to the turbo lift. The doors opened and he stepped
inside. As he turned and the doors began to close he cried out, ?Long live
Trillus.?
The door closed to the thunderous sound of a new chant. It was a chant of
his name. He smiled and looked around at Dahr.
?Well, Casian, I think that went well.?
All the captain could do was sigh.

?Why did you leave your position with the Presidential Guard?? Quinna was

Quinna listened to Green. ?Lt., I don?t like being caught off guard. When
you go off on your own can be dangerous. You were grabbed in the
audience. When no know knows your intent, then you have no backup. You
left a hole in the President?s security when you went rogue. We are a time
and I care what happened to everyone. If you cannot trust me to let me in
on the plans then I have no business being here. You were not asked to be
a spy, you were asked to help protect our VIP.? Taking a second for a deep
breath, ?As for an outlet, I think we should see what exactly will happen.
We can leave it as an option, but this is an internal issue of Trill. And
we, as Starfleet, do not interfere with internal conflicts. Besides, I
think it would be best handled by a Trill representative. Before you tell
me that you can shapeshift into a Trill, Need I to remind you, that people
are more likely to listen to those who are truly themselves and not someone
pretending to be one of them. I will pass your offer off the Captain Dahr
and let him decide.? Quinna said her piece. ?Is there anything else I
need to l know, Lt.?
(Reply Green)
After Quinna had finished with Green, she went back to the main promenade.
There she spotted Michael across the way. She gave him a small smile as
she worked her way over to him. ?Thanks for the backup with the crowd.?
(Reply Weston)
?I am not sure what is next but I have a feeling it?s going to be
eventful,? Quinna told Michael.
