Fixed spelling errors… not too bad. Fixed formatting errors… again, there is an overall improvement here. Please remember to start new paragraphs, etc. when necessary. It just saves time later. Please remember, Starbases have Medical Centers and not Sickbays. Changed weird fonts and funky coloured fonts back to regular fonts that the website posting programme will actually take. She watched as the station grew larger from where she sat near the front of the shuttle, this was her new home in their final voyage as classmates. She stood as the shuttle slowly settled onto the deck of the shuttle bay, she was the only one getting off at this point and after saying goodbye to those who had been her friends in the Academy and giving thanks to the pilot she stepped from the shuttle, duffle in one hand, PADD in the other. (Posted by KJ) (Starbase Geneva, Deck 1 Main Ops, OPS, Ensign {JG}Zadora Yalrath, 1230) Zadora continued to work on her secondary panel. ~I hate this thing,~ she thought. The secondary panel was half the size of the primary and was often difficult to work. She knew that space could be an issue, but never understood why these things were designed this way. Finally, Zadora saw someone from engineering walk out of the turbolift and towards her. “I haven't had any more luck tracking down the power drain. It appears to be gone at the moment so I can't track it, but I’ll keep an eye out." "I'll forward that information to Lieutenant Casely Mr. McLaren. Thank you," said Zadora. She had heard and was observing the strange occurrance after McLaren had found it. "I’ll take a look at that console." Matthew walked to the remains of the ops console and scanned it with a tricorder. "Gees you did a good job of it." Matthew said grinning at the ensign manning the secondary console. Zadora smiled glumly, "I was just using it normally when suddenly it stopped working... a few minutes later it just kind of went poof." "There you go." He said to ensign Yalrath, motioning to the console. "Try not to blow it up again." He said grinning. "Thank you Mr. McLaren. I appreciate your help," said Zadora flashing him a demure smile. Matthew tapped his comm. badge, "McLaren to Lieutenant Casely, there anything you need me to do immediately?" A response quickly came back, =^=Actually Ensign, how would you like to get your feet wet with some security matters again? We have a slight situation. Meet Doctor Engtamn- Jensi and myself on deck 46, do not arm yourself. The extra presence should be sufficient.=^= (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva, Ready Room, ATAC: Ensign {JG} Dorrin Klars, 1212) "AH, yes, Ensign Klars. The new ATAC is that correct?" Dorrin gave a sharp nod and responded "yes sir!" at the same time. He was on a ship now so he didn't believe in informality. "Yes, welcome Mr. Klars. Welcome to Geneva. You are assigned to us in the capacity of ATAC and will be serving under Lt. Casely. Please find a time to get in touch with him throughout the day. There is a formal ball at 18.00 and a play at 14.00, you are welcome to attend both and encouraged to attend the former. The ball is a masquerade so costumes, while not required are again, encouraged. Please contact the quartermaster to assign you quarters." Dorrin nodded while he filed away the information from the obviously rehearsed speech. He didn't believe he would be attending the ball, he had close friends but didn't socialize with large groups of people well. The one time he did all that happened was he embarassed himself. He got his revenge though..... He brought his attention sharply back, this was not the time for daydreaming. Other than that, I think that's all for now. Did you have any questions?" Dorrin shook his head, "no sir." "Again, Ensign Klars, welcome aboard. Dismissed." Once he was dismissed he left in search for Lt. Casely who he would be working with. (Posted by Dan Mason) (Starbase Geneva- Ready Room- Ensign Iss'ad Ghakin - 1234) Iss rad found the Captains Ready Room with no problem. The fact that she studied the schematics of the station on the way there had helped. The chime sounding as she stepped to the door, which opened on a command from within. She stepped forward, handing the PADD to the Officer behind the desk before snapping to attention. “Ensign Iss'rad Ghakin reporting as Ordered.” (Reply Captain Lise Arianna) (Posted by KJ) (Starbase Geneva, Main Ops, Ensign McLaren, 1235) A response quickly came back, =^=Actually Ensign, how would you like to get your feet wet with some security matters again? We have a slight situation. Meet Doctor Engtamn-Jensi and myself on deck 46, do not arm yourself. The extra presence should be sufficient.=^= "Yes sir, I'm on my way." He moved quickly to the turbolift. "Deck 46!" He said and the lift sped off. (Posted by Matthew McLaren) (Starbase Geneva, Deck 46, Ensign McLaren, 1240) Matthew jogged up to the group. This was the first time he was able to fill his role as security officer and he liked it, not that he didn't like engineering, it was just security gave him a thrill when he was doing something like this. He met the group. "What’s the situation?" (Posted by Matthew McLaren) (Starbase Geneva, Deck 46, 2O/TAC/SC, Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely, 1243) Paul stood waiting for a response from Captain Arianna as to how this potentially delicate diplomatic event should be dealt with. Suddenly, Ensign McLaren came bounding out of the turbolift, obviously excited and looking for some form of 'action'. "Whats the situation?" asked McLaren. Paul cocked an eyebrow and looked over to the overzealous Ensign. "Well Mr. McLaren, we've traced Doctor Engtamn-Jensi's missing item to Ambassador Tane's quarters. As this is a rather... unusual... situation and has diplomatic overtones I'm waiting for instruction from the Captain. For the moment we're quietly waiting here. One way or another, we won't be rushing in," stated Paul softly. Off to one side Doctor Engtamn-Jensi was nodding in agreement quietly. He looked embarrassed by the whole event. (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva- Ballroom- Admiral Gr'iann- 1940) Gr'iann watched as Counselor Rogers left Mackenzie. His ears flickered a little with excitement. His oportunity to talk with her again had come. He straightened himself out and brushed off his uniform. Finally picking off a stray hair. He took a deep breath and moved over to the other doctor. "Doctorr Mmackenzie," he said with a big grin on his face. "I amm so glad that you arre herre." (reply Mackenzie) "Oh, yes," Gr'iann continued, starting to feel self conscious. "I was hoping we'd get a chance to talk, on a less prrofessional level." (reply Mackenzie) "Tell mme doctorr," he paused, "mmay I call you Kaitlyn?" (reply Mackenzie) "Would you carre to dance with an old Caitian?" (repy Mackenzie) (posted by Al Muir) (Starbase Geneva, Corridor enroute to personal Quarters, COUNS Ensign (JG) Brian Rogers, 1941) Brian got off the turbolift and started jogging towards his quarters. He really didn't want to leave but a Priority Alpha message could only be left by somebody important. He quickened his pace. Brian walked in and went to the computer console. "Computer, replay subspace message." Brian said has the computer chimed to tell him it reconized his command. His father appeared on screen, sitting in the ready room of his ship. "Hello, son. I was informed that you are now currently posted on board a...starbase." His dad said in his gruff tone. "I also see that you....aren't even a doctor, your a counselor, which you know how I feel about them." He said. He could hear his mother yelling off screen at him. "Well, I just wanted to tell you that I.....I 'love' you son and your mother 'loves' you. Good luck. Captain Rogers out." And with that the screen returned to the Starfleet Symbol. Brian entered the command to delete the message and stood up and walked out. Brian was now jogging at full speed towards the turbolift. He was furius with himself for leaving. He felt his shoes tug at his feet. The quartermaster always gave him a few sizes too small. Has he rounded the corner, he stumbled and fell down. He hit his forehead on the edge of the bulkhead and rolled over. He suddenly got a spitting headache. ~Oh.....too many drinks....~ Brian thought has he grabbed the bulkhead and stood to his feet. He staggered back to the turbolift very slowly. His vision was fuzzy and his head hurt. He arrived to the turbolift and stepped inside. (Posted by Kevin Schram) (Starbase Geneva-Ballroom-ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-1942) Kaitlyn had been sitting in her chair in the ballroom alone thinking for what seemed like an eternity. In fact, she decided it was time she return to her quarters. ~Better get some sleep for tomorrow.~ As she stood up, she brushed the front of herself down, making sure she still looked okay, though she wasn't sure why. She was just going back to her quarters after all. Turning around to leave, she bumped into Admiral Gr'iann. "Oh, I'm so sorry Admiral. I didn't know you were there." She hoped that she didn't make a fool of herself already. "Doctorr Mmackenzie," he said with a big grin on his face. "I amm so glad that you arre herre." ~He is? I take it he's not mad then...~ Figuring that the admiral might want to talk business she put on a neutral face. She wasn't quite sure what to expect just yet. "I take it you're okay then?" "Oh, yes," Gr'iann continued, starting to feel self conscious. "I was hoping we'd get a chance to talk, on a less prrofessional level." "Yeah, sure." ~Hold up....a less professional level?~ "Was there anything in particular you wished to discuss?" "Tell mme doctorr," he paused, "mmay I call you Kaitlyn?" She had never had a problem with anyone calling her by her first name, even when she served as first officer on the Paladin. The only people she didn't like calling her by her first name were usually people she didn't like very well or enemies that thought it 'cute' to use her name outside of the ranks when they were on a mission. "I don't have a problem with that." She was usually one of the more friendly yet shy types you would find on a starbase or ship. On duty hours required definite restriction in the ranks and off duty hours were for leisure and fun. "Would you carre to dance with an old Caitian?" She thought for a moment. Her and Rogers just had a pretty amazing night between the two of them, getting to know each other. However, they weren't attached at the hip and she didn't see any reason why a little dance would hurt. It would have been different if they were in serious dating or even married. ~Me...married?~ She hadn't even thought about that yet. Seeing other people switching partners on the dance floor as well, Kaitlyn said, "I'd like that." This way she wouldn't be alone as others were having fun as well. In reality she was just on her way back to her quarters and thought about swinging by Rogers' place to see if he was okay. She had no idea what the message was about, but was interested in his well being. But then the other side of her thought she should let him be alone, especially since they were just getting to know each other. And because they didn't, she thought it best to let him talk if or when the time came. As they walked to the dance floor, she felt very strange. ~Probably because he's an admiral...~ Then she thought, ~Now you know how Brian felt...~ She really liked to dance as it was one of her passions growing up, so she took the opportunity to have fun. "So...how are you this evening?" Unsure of how to start a conversation, she tried this tactic. (Reply: Gr'iann, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (Starbase Geneva - Ball Room - Counselor Kassia Marta - 1944) Kass saw that Lise's expression changed after she stated what her question was. It was almost as if Lise had thought that she was going to ask something else. "Those are very good questions, Ensign Marta." Lise replied. "There is no regulation about flirting with the junior ranks, and Lt. Cmdr Mackenzie is certainly free to conduct her life in whichever manner she sees fit. And while I'd like to say that it is unusual, it has been known to happen." Lise finished quickly. Kass listened, then saw that Lise was thinking of times past before she finished answering the second part of her question. "As for the drinking, it is not customary for anyone to get so drunk these days. In fact, I was not aware that alcohol not of the synthehol variety was going to be served." "Well, I think I will have some fun then. Back home when we had a party it was customary to dance when music played." Kass replied as she started looking around for a partner, then finding McLaren looking dejected, "Ah yes, a partner. But, the drinking can wait for a little while, fun first." She replied, "Will you excuse me Captain, I see someone in need of a dance partner." She said to Lise as she bowed to the captain and saundered over to McLaren. Kass walked over to the table where McLaren had sat down to nurse his drink. "Mister McLaren, the music is playing and my feet fill like dancing, will you join me?" Kass asked holding out her hand to him. (reply Lise, McLaren, any) (posted by Frank) (Starbase Geneva, Turbolift, COUNS Ensign (JG) Brian Rogers, 1948) Brian stood into the turbolift. "Ballroom." He ordered. The turbolift doors closed and started moving. He leaned agasint the wall and waited. Suddenly, he saw a drip of red on his uniform jacket. ~What the....?~ Then another drip. He looked at the ceiling of the turbolift....no leak or anything. He then felt something wet hit his hair. He reached up and to his surprise found where he hit the bulkhead he now had a large deep gash across his forehead, and blood was pouring out. He already was dizzy and headache, but the knowloadge of a hugh wound on his forehead only made it worse. He tired to use his hands to stop the blood, but after awhile his hands were covered in blood. The turbolift seemed to take forever. Suddenly, he saw the edges of his vison get smaller and smaller. Then he realised he was fainting....and he felt his body hit the ground, just has the turbolift doors opened. (Posted by Kevin Schram) (Starbase Geneva, Deck 14 Holodeck 4, 2O/TAC/SC, Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2034) Paul hiked farther on through the woods. His comm badge still hadn't chirped and he was enjoying the peace and quiet. He knew he should be at the party, but he also knew no one had really missed him. The last eight days had been long and he'd found that he had a lot to adjust to. He'd been an officer in Starfleet for just over 3 months and in that time had two promotions in rank and then found himself as the second officer, really the acting first officer, of a starbase. It was a lot to take in. He really hadn't had the chance to catch his breath. He was happy with his accomplishments and his job, but he was still overwhelmed. He had to act with authority while barely being out of the Academy himself. Sometimes he could feel a lack of confidence tugging at him that he had to suppress to continue with his job. He knew that many of these ensigns would soon be in the same boat as necessity would cause himself and the Captain to put many of them at the head of their departments. Paul continued down the path, hiking uphill. He passed briefly and dipped his hand in a clean spring flowing by and drank from it. The water tasted crisp and clean. The holodeck always did these things well, but it was programmed from Paul's most pure childhood memories. He probably embellished it slightly because of it. The smell of pine hung in the air as he walked into the clearing and saw La Chute. Paul watched the waterfall flow that had carved an opening between the rocks. The spray cast a rainbow in the air. Paul sat in the sweet smelling grass and began to contemplate things for a bit. ~Just a bit longer and I'll go back to the party,~ Paul thought, soaking in the view, the scents and a time in his life when things were simpler. (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva, Hallway to turbolift Deck 14, 2O/TAC/SC, Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2038) Paul exited the holodeck with his costume back on and with the full intent to return to the party. He stood in front of the lift and waited. He was not relishing returning to the party, but had to keep up appearances. He never was really good at these sorts of social functions. Paul was musing this when suddenly the turbolift door opened revealing a bloodied ensign crumpled on the bottom of it. Paul tapped his comm badge, "This is Lieutenant Casely, I have a medical emergency. I have a crewmate down in the turbolift on deck 14, he seems to have lost a lot of blood. I'm securing the area and waiting for a medical team." Paul knew better than to try and reposition the body. He did, however check the pulse. It seemed strong enough. This really was not his job, but he knew the investigation that would follow would be. (Reply any medical staff who respond) (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva, Ballroom, ATAC Dorrin Klars - 2040) Dorrin walked down the hall in a huff. He hadn't found Lt. Casely and somehow found himself in the ball. Ina riduculous outfit that no self respecting person should wear. He had left the party for a few minutes to change and realized he had told an officer he would be right back. Well he was heading back, but not in a costum, not even if he was offered a ship. (Posted by Dan Mason) (Starbase Geneva- Ballroom- Admiral Gr'iann- 2045) Gr'iann gently held onto the soft form of the young human woman. As he danced he took the opportuntiy to get her full scent. It was a sweet smell that he took a full breath in with. The tempo of the music changed to something a little slower. Gr'iann changed his hold on Mackenzie and slowed his pace. His movement was so natural that he couldn't even feel the ACMO change to match his. They held various "small talk" conversations, and it didn't take long for it to turn to funny medical stories. "And so," Gr'iann went on with his story, "when the Bolian rreturrned I had to tell himm that he had a forrmm of irradiated lice that would rrequire a five day trreatment with a special shammpoo." The Caitian laughed, which sounded abit like a meowing, remembering the prospect of a bald Bolian having to use shampoo. There was a break in the music and they made their way off the dance floor. Gr'iann, for his advanced years, managed to keep himself in good shape with his exercise regiment. Although he could feel himself begin to heat up. "Perrhaps a drrink would be inorrderr?" he offered. (reply Mackenzie) As they made their way to a table Gr'iann began to work up the courage to be a little more daring. He wanted to show Kaitlyn how he felt, and not the confused feeling, but how his heart raced while he was with her. They sat down and he opened his mouth to speak when his comm badge went off. =^=This is Lieutenant Casely, I have a medical emergency. I have a crewmate down in the turbolift on deck 14, he seems to have lost a lot of blood. I'm securing the area and waiting for a medical team.=^= ~Medical emergency? ~ He looked over to see that the turbolift door was open and Casely was standing there. ~Perfect.~ He looked over at Mackenzie, who had recieved the same call. Sighing heavily he held out his paw. "Shall we go, Doctorr Mmackenzie?" (reply Mackenzie) They made their way to the turbolift. Gr'iann was surprised to see that it was the Counselor, Brian Rogers, who was the emergency. The Caitian could smell the congealing blood, before he could see it. Instantly he pulled out his tricorder and knelt down beside the unconscious counselor. He looked over at Mackenzie and smiled at her look. "It's an old habit," he said, "I always keep it with mme." The cursory scan showed that Rogers scalp was was very deep, and he'd lost a substantial amount of blood, as head wounds are want to do. He also had a concusion, which would account for his unconscious state. By the coagulation of the blood he figured that the man had been there for a while, at least 20 minutes. Tapping his comm badge. "Gr'iann to mmedical, emmerrgency trransporrt forr ," he looked up at Mackenzie, "three?" (reply Mackenzie, any) (posted by Al Muir) (Starbase Geneva-Ballroom-ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-2046) They both were making small talk as they were dancing. Because of that, Kaitlyn didn't even notice the obvious interest that the admiral had for her. "And so," Gr'iann went on with his story, "when the Bolian rreturrned I had to tell himm that he had a forrmm of irradiated lice that would rrequire a five day trreatment with a special shammpoo." They both started laughing at the prospect of a bald Bolian having to do the treatment. ~Something only medical doctors would probably laugh at.~ As the music changed, they both decided it best to stop for the time being. The admiral then ushered her over towards the bar. "Perrhaps a drrink would be inorrderr?" he offered. ~This will come back to bite me in the *ss tomorrow.~ "Sure," she said and smiled at him. But right after he asked, an emergency call came in. =^=This is Lieutenant Casely, I have a medical emergency. I have a crewmate down in the turbolift on deck 14, he seems to have lost a lot of blood. I'm securing the area and waiting for a medical team.=^= ~Thank you,~ she thought as she looked at the ceiling. It wasn't that spending time with Gr'iann wasn't fun, but she felt like she had already had one too many drinks. Sighing heavily he held out his paw. "Shall we go, Doctorr Mmackenzie?" Nodding at him, she stood up and headed in the direction of the turbolift. ~Why is he being so calm about a medical emergency?~ She thought it was odd that he act like it was no big deal, but she shrugged it off thinking that maybe he too had too many drinks. (Posted by Stacey) (Starbase Geneva - Turbolift 14 - 2O/TAC/SC Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2048) Paul watched as the two doctors made their way to the Ensign. He noted the calm that the Caitian seemed to exude. He also noticed, with concern, that Doctor Mackenzie seemed more than just professionally involved. Paul knew that if she was too emotionally involved, Gri'ann would remove her from the case. It wasn't his department, nor his problem at the moment. Paul watched as the Caitain removed a medical tricorder, Paul nodded, not really being surprised at all. "It's an old habit," he said, "I always keep it with mme." He then started to scan. The pair seemed to have forgotten Paul in the shuffle, not that it really mattered, he wasn't the injured one. "Gr'iann to mmedical, emmerrgency trransporrt forr ," he looked up at Mackenzie, "three?" In an instant they were gone. Paul stood up and brushed himself off and tapped his comm badge. "Lieutenant Casely to Security Center," he stated. =^=Yes Sir, what can we do for you?=^= "Please place a security interlock on Ensign Rogers' quarters. I am heading there at this moment. Make sure only my security override or the captain's can open the door until further notice. Please also add security to points of entrance or egress to the station. Standard protocols are to be in place for dealing with an assault on a Starfleet officer," stated Paul. He was not really in the mood for chatting. The Ensign, at the moment, wasn't talking and he needed to ensure he hadn't been assaulted or otherwise been the victim of foul play. =^=Yes Sir, its done.=^= "Please log that as of Stardate 2406.12.31 at 1953 the quarters of Ensign Rogers' is the site of a possible security investigation," said Paul, "Casely out." (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva - Deck 4, Ensign Rogers' Quarters - 2O/TAC/SC Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2058) Paul walked to the doors of the Ensign's quarters and stood in front. "Security access, Casely delta epsilon seven," stated Paul. [Granted] With that, the doors slid open and Paul walked in, scanning the quarters. Everything seemed in order. Perhaps a bit messier than Paul hismelf liked it, but no evidence of struggle. Paul scanned the area briefly. The area was clean, the only DNA that was present was the Ensign's. No blood, no guts, no broken furniture. No evidence of struggle. Then Paul noticed his standard issue footwear were in the quarters. "Computer, access quartermaster logs," stated Paul. [Granted] "Index footwear, Rogers, Brian, Ensign," said Paul. [Working. Standard issue boots, leisure shoes, jogging shoes. File complete.] ~No jogging shoes. Probably should have looked at his footwear, wasn't really thinking about it though.~ thought Paul as he exited the quarters. "Casely to Security, remove security seal on Ensign Roger's quarters," stated Paul. =^=Done sir.=^= Paul walked out into the corridor and began to scan the area. Everything seemed normal, no real problems. He crossed several bulkheads and crossing hallways on his while he swept the hallway. Everyone always thought that these sorts of security matters just solved themselves. No one ever considered the kind of work that actually went into them. Security was not just, afterall, populated by a bunch of thugs who were called in to bring about order. Then, his tricorder beeped in a most unusual way. ~Blood. Human blood.~ Now Paul was starting to piece together a situation. The sample hadn't decayed greatly yet, meaning that the blood had been left behind within the previous hour. ~An accident. Some kind of accident. He was jogging and tripped.~ "Security, stand down. It seems likely that Ensign Rogers' injuries were caused by an accident while jogging. I'll make a full report later," stated Paul. =^=Yes Sir. Investigation protocols ended.=^= Paul tapped his comm badge, "Lieutenant Casely to Medical Centre. How is Ensign Rogers?" (Reply Gri'ann or Mackenzie) "I have some rather odd questions to ask you. Could you please describe Ensign Rogers' footwear and tell me if the injury is consistant with falling downward while in motion?" asked Paul. (Reply Gri'ann or Mackenzie) "Understood, thank you. You've just helped me close the investigation. Casely out," stated Paul. He began to walk towards the turbolift. ~Might as well return to the party and give the captain my report in person.~ (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva-Medical Center-ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-2059) Having had stablized Rogers for the time being, they were now about to work on the cut on his head. "Here you go doctor," Kaitlyn said as she handed him a tool that would take care of the bleed. (Reply Gr'iann iyw) =^=Lieutenant Casely to Medical Centre. How is Ensign Rogers?=^= Seeing as how Gr'iann was busy taking care of the bleed, Kaitlyn decided to respond to Casely's inquery. "So far he's stablized. We're still working on repairing his injuries though." While Lt. Casely was responding to what she just said, the doctor handed the tool back as Kaitlyn handed him another different tool this time. =^=I have some rather odd questions to ask you. Could you please describe Ensign Rogers' footwear and tell me if the injury is consistant with falling downward while in motion?=^= asked Paul. ~Odd questions...?~ Making sure the doctor was okay for a moment on his own, Kaitlyn went to the end of the biobed and took a look at Rogers' shoes. "Well...." There was a slight pause before Kaitlyn continued her sentence. "It seems he has a type of jogging shoe on...and....from the extent and direction of the cut, it does seem to conclude that he did fall in a downward direction." Taking another tool back from Gr'iann, she placed it on the instrument tray. They then took another quick scan of his vitals, making sure he was okay thus far. =^=Understood, thank you. You've just helped me close the investigation. Casely out,=^= stated Paul. After communications were closed, Kaitlyn looked up at the doctor and raised her eyebrows, then looked back down at Rogers. He was currently doing okay and they were about to close the procedure. (Posted by Stacey) (Starbase Geneva- Medical Center- Admiral Gr'iann- 2100) "Are you ready doctor," Mackenzie said, looking up at him. Gr'iann smiled at her eyes. "I am rready." He knew that the wounds were mostly superficial, but because of their location, looked worse than they were. The worst part, of course, was the amount of blood lost. Scalp wounds can be notorious for that. "Here you go doctor," she said, handing him the heomocoagulant. Once applied the remaining oozing of blood stopped instantly. He then applied an antibiotic, as Lt. Casely commed in to check on their patients disposition. Kaitlyn took care of that as she continued to assist him. She handed him the dermal generator and he sealed the gash within minutes. All that was obviously left of the injury was a thin red line. He may wind up with a small scar at his hair line. Who knows, it might look distinguished. Gr'iann placed a neural caliper on Rogers forhead and and turned it on. Then Mackenzie handed him a recalcifying unit. He ran that over the counselors skull, repairing the concusion. After that it was just a matter of time for him to wake up. By the time Mackenzie was done with Casely, Gr'iann was putting the final touches on the repairs. He extracted a claw and recongiured the nueral calipers to slowly allow Rogers to regain consciousness. He might have a bit of a headache when he awoke. Looking over at Mackenzie, he smiled again. She just made him smile. It had been a long time since anyone made him feel good. Then he looked over at Engtamn, who was still sleeping off the affects of the alcohol he'd ingested. Then he turned back to her. "The counselorr will be out forr about fifteen morre minutes." he informed Kaitlyn. "I don't think I was meant to be at this parrty. This is the second medical emerrgency I've been on since I trried to go. Arre you planning on going back?" (reply Mackenzie) "Perrhaps we could get somme," he seaarched for the right word, "deserrt?" (reply Mackenzie) (Starbase Geneva-Medical Center-ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-2101) "The counselorr will be out forr about fifteen morre minutes." he informed Kaitlyn. They had just finished working on Rogers and everything went smoothly.....well, surgery wise anyways. Rogers wouldn't feel smooth when he woke up. As Kaitlyn started to put all the tools back onto the tray, she glanced up at the doctor to see if he had anything else that needed to be done. But all he did was smile at her. ~This is getting strange.~ She kind of had the feeling that she was on the reality tv show called "Bachelorette" back in the 21st century. Shrugging it off once more, she continued to pick up everything they had used. "I don't think I was meant to be at this parrty. This is the second medical emerrgency I've been on since I trried to go. Arre you planning on going back?" She thought for a moment, then decided against it. "It is only 21:00 hours......but...I think I'll stay here and finish cleaning up and make sure Rogers will be ok. After that I'll probably head to my quarters. I still have some unpacking to do before tomorrow!" At the obvious disappoinment in Gr'iann's face, she then said, "Besides....what would the good doctor do if I were late for my post on the first day here? Not only that, but I'm ready to get out of this thing," she said as she itched at her costume. She was only joking with him to raise his spirits a little. She didn't want him to think she didn't like his company, but it was getting late and there were still things she needed to accomplish. (Reply Gr'iann) At Gr'iann's reply, she smiled at him, letting him know that everything was fine with her. "I just thought it would be nice to unpack my uniform before I can't fine it in the morning," she laughed. (Reply Gr'iann) "I'll be right back," she then said as she took the tray of instruments into the next room to sterilize them. It only took a few minutes and they were done and clean as a whistle. Coming back into the main area of Medical Center, she started putting the supplies away. That's when she noticed Rogers slightly coming to. Walking over to his biobed, she checked his vitals once more, then waited until he was fully conscious. (Reply: Gr'iann, Rogers, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (Starbase Geneva, Medical Center, COUNS Ensign (JG) Brian Rogers, 2104) Brian saw a bright light in his face has he woke up. ~Oh....my head....~ Brian said has he sat up. He looked around and saw an admiral and Kaitlyn. "Wha....what happened to me?" Brian asked. (reply Mackenzie or Gr'iann) "Wow, that really must of-..." Brain said, but then when he looked down at his uniform and saw the large amount of blood he almost jumped off the biobed. "Well doctors, can I return to my quarters?" (reply Mackenzie or Gr'iann, all) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (Starbase Geneva-Medical Center -ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie - 2106) Kaitlyn was at Rogers' bedside when he awoke. She had already checked his vitals and they were good, now she was just waiting for him to open his eyes and do the final check now that he was conscious. "Wha....what happened to me?" Brian asked. "You had a little accident." At the nod of Brian's head, she continued. "I was still in the ballroom when the admiral and I heard a call to get to deck 14. Apparently you were jogging and must have tripped. You hit your head on a bulkhead and you have a pretty deep cut, so be careful." She watched as Rogers instinctively put his hand to his head to check out the damage. "Don't worry though...you'll be fine thanks to us handy doctors," she tried to make a little light of the situation. "Wow, that really must of-..." He cut his sentence short as he looked and saw the massive blood stain on his uniform. He then changed attitudes. "Well doctors, can I return to my quarters?" Kaitlyn looked at Gr'iann then to Rogers. "I don't see any reason why you can't, as long as you look after yourself. You have a head wound so don't hesitate if you feel any other symptoms to come back here. We'd rather be safe than sorry," she said and looked towards Gr'iann who she knew felt the same way. Right after that, he fled Medical Center. After a long pause, she crossed her arms and said, "Musta been the blood stain." She then stood in silence once more before cleaning off the biobed where he lay. (Posted by: Stacey) (Starbase Geneva- Medical Center - Admiral Gr'iann- 2110) It had been just two hours since he first entered the ballroom, and now he was ready to call it a night. The goddess was not giving him the impression that he should be there at all. With Rogers taken care of and heading back to his quarters, Gr'iann found himself alone, finally, with Kaitlyn Mackenzie. "Mmackenzie," he let the name roll of his lips. Unfortunately he hadn't realized that he had verbalized it out loud. (reply Mackenzie) Suddenly embarrassed he tried to recover. "So doctor, what do you say to somme deserrt? That is, if you'rre not going back to the parrty." (reply Mackenzie) (posted by Al Muir) (Starbase Geneva-Medical Center -ACMO Lt. Cmdr. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-2111) With Rogers now gone out of sickbay, Kaitlyn sighed. It had been a long night and she was glad that he was feeling fine. That however wasn't the same for Dr. Engtamn who was still laying unconscious on another biobed. Having picked up after Rogers, she stood silent for a second before getting ready to leave. That's when Gr'iann spoke up once more. "Mmackenzie," he said. Her back was turned to him and she stopped doing what she was doing as she awaited to hear the rest of his sentence.....which never came. ~Ok....this is really starting to get strange.~ For a moment, she almost felt like an admired celebrity with the popparazi all around. "So doctor, what do you say to somme deserrt? That is, if you'rre not going back to the parrty." Once again, giving him the benefit of the doubt, she said, "Ok...but just one dessert, then I'm going home to unpack." She was really eager to make new friends here, especially since there were new people she hadn't met before. A lot of people she did know however, and it was really good to talk to them. ~By the looks of it, Admiral Gr'iann is already on my friendly side.~ But for some reason her mind kept drifting back to Rogers. She wondered how he was doing...especially if what had happened was because of his message he received. She shoved that thought to the side as her and Gr'iann went to have a nice dessert to close off the evening. ~I'll just wait till I get to my quarters then call him and see how he's doing.~ She was also amazed at how her and Gr'iann's working relationship could/would be. With him being so nice and friendly to her, she was sure they would work very well together. ~This could perhaps be the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. Good friends, good work place...~ With that in mind, Kaitlyn was finally ready to settle down and be back to her normal self she used to be on Geneva. (Posted by: Stacey) (Starbase Geneva - Ball Room - 2O/TAC/SC Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2118) Paul stepped out of the turbolift and back towards the party. His mind was swimming with everything that had just gone on. An investigation was an investigation even if that one was mercifully short. Paul was so deep in thought that he didn't quite see Ensign Marta as he re-entered the ballroom. "Sorry, sir, I should have been looking where I was walking," Marta said with her typical politeness. Paul shook his head to the negative, "No no, that was my fault. I should have been watching where I was going. I'm sorry." Having a higher rank didn't mean he had the right to knock people over and expect them to apologize to him for it. "My mind has been somewhere else tonight... it's been entirely too eventful." (Reply Marta) "Well, I hope you've been having a good night at least," said Paul, "these events shouldn't really be causing you any problem. The party itself looks like a success." (Reply Marta) (posted by Jeff Bergeron) (Starbase Geneva - Ball Room - Counselor Kassia Marta - 2120) During her childhood years, Kass had been given the chance to learn to dance. She actually looked forward to each lesson and was one of her teachers best student. She attended many dance contests, which, she won a lot of them. To her the contests were not about winning, but, about having all the fun she could and that was why she won so many times; she gave it her all. She had many different partners over the years, which, taught her how to conform to different dance styles. She had been taught many different dances and can do them all, but, the Waltz and Ballroom dances were her favorite. She and McLaren moved across the floor elegantly as if they had been partners for a long time. She had not had this much fun in a long time, which, she soaked it up. But, then it was all over and McLaren was gone. The dances that she liked the most made her expend a lot of energy and she needed to cool down a bit. Since she had no partner at the moment, she decided to move over to the bar to get something cool to drink. Even though she needed some time to cool down, she was not finished dancing. She just needed another great partner to dance with. She gathered her drink and moved to a table where she sat relaxing. It had been a while since she had finished her dancing. She was cooling down and her drink, which she was nursing, was almost gone. It looked as though she was going to have to leave as everyone had a partner and she saw no prospects. Once she had finally finished her drink, she decided that she might as well call it a night, maybe another time she could get more dancing in. Getting up she started making her way for the door, then as she was about to walk out, Casely came through almost bowling her over. "Sorry, sir, I should have been looking where I was walking." She said as she noticed it was Casely. (reply Casely, any) (posted by Frank) (Starbase Geneva - Ball Room - Counselor - Ensign Kassia Marta - 2123) "No no, that was my fault. I should have been watching where I was going. I'm sorry." Casely said as he shook his head negatively. "My mind has been somewhere else tonight... it's been entirely too eventful." "Sir, I understand totally. You have a lot of things that could be on your mind. Seeing that you are the stations Acting First Officer and Chief Tactical/Security, a very lot of things." Kass answered him with her normal warm smile hoping to put him at ease. "Well, I hope you've been having a good night at least," said Paul, "these events shouldn't really be causing you any problem. The party itself looks like a success." "Yes Sir, the party seems to be a success. I have not been to any like this, but, everyone seems to be having fun. Ensign McLaren and I did a bit of dancing a little bit ago; I really enjoy dancing." Kass answered then did a waltz step. "Care to hit the dance floor sir?" (reply Casely, any) (posted by Frank) (Starbase Geneva - Ball Room - 2O/TAC/SC- Lieutenant {JG} Paul Casely - 2126) "Yes Sir, the party seems to be a success. I have not been to any like this, but, everyone seems to be having fun. Ensign McLaren and I did a bit of dancing a little bit ago; I really enjoy dancing." Kass answered then did a waltz step. "Care to hit the dance floor sir?" Paul considered this for a second. He wasn't much of a dancer and wasn't sure about the logistics of fraternization, even if Starfleet didn't have a policy against it, but he didn't figure that one dance would really hurt. "I suppose so, but I have to warn you, I'm not a very good dancer. Most likely I won't be very light on my feet and rather heavy on yours," stated Paul with a grin. (Reply Marta) "OK, well, lets give it a try then," said Paul hesitantly. (Reply Marta) (posted by Jeff) [END COMPILE]
