Compilers Notes: Champlain Compile 5 Excellent quality posts and a high quantity. Remember, we prefer your posts done well to volume. Fixed Timestamp errors: Actually, there were very few of these… bet if I did a full compile for the mission there would be more though. Fixed spelling and grammar errors: Ok… ugh. Please be careful, run posts through spellcheck, yadda yadda. This took me 30 minutes for 20 pages of posts. Fixed formatting errors: Please remember to try NOT to put NRPG tags in the middle of posts unless it is absolutely necessary. Its easier for me to find and remove them if they are at the beginning or the end of the post. I also had to fight with auto format… a lot. She understood it was no a deep space mission but to be out as far as Ivor Prime was an impossible distance for her to manage in one go. The transport ship she was on now, was the fourth ship she had been on since leaving the Academy and all her friends back on earth and yet it still wasn’t the Champlain. When Admiral Pavak Green had announced to her, that she would be serving on one of the newer vessels of the fleet - Deanno had smiled. It would give her chance to be on a little bit of a more even playing field, especially since most of the crew was as green and fresh out of the academy as her. She looked down the roster for the Champlain one more time. ~Wolfe, Captain. Mason, First Officer. Janeway, Security AND Tactical Chief. Frazier, OPS Chief. Sullivan, Asst. Tactical Officer...~ Her thought trail went on and on. She looked up after reciting the roster once more to see her neighbor standing at the door smiling and shaking her head. "You know you don’t have to know the crew off by heart. I'm sure you'll pick names and faces up when you reach this.. Champlain vessel" She said in a kind, sincere voice. Deanno nodded, "Thanks. But I want to be prepared. I've never done anything like this before.. God knows how many mistakes I'll make. I bet you that I'm back in the Academy after 2 weeks tops." She said jokingly. The woman shrugged and walked off, ~Ahh well~ Deanno thought to herself. You couldn’t please everyone. She returned her attention to the PADD she was holding. ~Captain Edward Wolfe, Lt. Commander Ulia Mason, Lt. Jonathan Janeway...~ Once again her thought pattern held in confirmation the line of command as she could see it. As she got to the medical department however she became confused, as she always did - when she reviewed it on the Roster. ~Chief Medical Officer, Mor'rel~ She stood up and placed the PADD on her desk and picked up some of her items and walked out of the room. She headed for the bridge of the Celebor 3, she soon reached it; as the transport ship wasn’t too big. As she stepped of the turbolift and onto the bridge, she walked up to the CO of the vessel and said "You called?" Before she had left her Quarters she had received a message from a one Captain Winters calling her up to the Bridge. "We're coming up on the Champlain now." Winters said in a subtly loud voice. Deanno nodded, "Thank-you. Captain. I will make my way down to the transporter room, Can you have my luggage transported across also?" She asked as she turned to leave the bridge. "Sure" Was all she got before the CO started conducting business. "Helm, bring us into a similar geo-stationary orbit around the planet. Hail the Champlain" Was all she heard before the turbolift doors closed in front of her. (Posted by John Green) (Celebor 3 - Transporter Rm 1 – ACMO - USS Champlain - Ens(jg) Deanno Lorn - 1234) She stepped onto the transporter PADD and watched the transporter chief receive the go ahead to beam her directly across to the Champlain. She smiled, "It's been a pleasure, Jimmy." She winked at him and then nodded. She felt the transporter beam grip her sides and every thing went black for a moment. (Posted by John Green) (USS Champlain - Transporter Rm 1 – ACMO - Ens(jg) Deanno Lorn - 1238) She opened her eyes as she felt the transporter beam let go of her. She shook her body before looking up and saluting the transporter chief. "Permission to Come aboard?" She asked loudly. She noticed her luggage had been transported across with her. (Posted by John G.) (USS Champlain - Transporter Rm 1 - Transporter Chief - CPO Thomas O'Malley - 1237) Thomas got the go ahead from the Celebor that they were ready to send, and the bridge the order to receive. He did his final checks, everything nominal, his hand with the lightest of touches moved across the transporter actuator with one smooth motion. Sending the scattered energy form of the Ensign's atoms to the Champlain's transporter room one. The machine would have seemed like wizardry, the way it forced the tiniest stream of energy to caches into a living breathing person, had he not studied so long on it. Heck, he spend eight whole weeks on just the pattern buffers. It was almost a year before they even let him transport inanimate objects, let alone people. As the young Ensign materialized, Tom was rechecking his console's read outs. When he looked up the young Ensign was saluting? In a loud voice she asked, "Permission to come aboard?" ~Oh, brother. How do I put this tactfully?~ "Uh, permission granted, sir, but um..." his voice trailed off and he was obviously uncomfortable, "In all my twelve years in the 'Fleet, Sir," he said growing more confident by the word. ~Remember she may out rank you but as a Petty Officer you have a duty to correct her and make sure to keep it professional.~ "I've never, ever had to salute, and if I remember the ancient tradition correctly, there were very few circumstances when an officer would salute an enlisted member such as my self who hadn't saluted them first." he continued. (Reply Lorn) "Normally the Captain likes to meet with all officers that report on board, but being as he just beamed down to an away mission, Commander Mason, will have to do for now, she is on the bridge, sir, and from what little I know of the XO, she is not a patient officer, and she knows that you are on board." he put it as tactfully as he could. ~Nate's got his hands full with this one.~ (Posted by Todd) (USS Champlain - Transporter Room 1 - ACMO - Ens(jg) Deanno Lorn - 1240) "Uh, permission granted, sir, but um..." his voice trailed off and he was obviously uncomfortable, "In all my twelve years in the 'Fleet, Sir... I've never, ever had to salute, and if I remember the ancient tradition correctly, there were very few circumstances when an officer would salute an enlisted member such as my self who hadn't saluted them first." Deanno stood there on the transporter pad, her eyes blinking. She stepped of the transporter pad and walked toward the petty officer. "I feel it necessary to do so. I like to give respect" She said simply, "Where is the captain?" "Normally the Captain likes to meet with all officers that report on board, but being as he just beamed down to an away mission, Commander Mason, will have to do for now, she is on the bridge, sir, and from what little I know of the XO, she is not a patient officer, and she knows that you are on board." the officer but it quite tactfully. "Advice taken." She smiled. "What’s your name?" She asked quickly. (Reply Chief) "Can you arrange for my luggage to be delivered to my quarters?" She asked quickly. (Reply Chief) "Thank-you. I'll see you later" She said as friendly as she could. She walked out of the doors and headed for a turbolift which she took to the bridge. (Posted by John G.) (USS Champlain - Transporter Rm 1 - Transporter Chief - CPO Thomas O'Malley - 1241) ~At least now I have a story to beat one of Nate's in Ten Forward.~ He thought to himself. "Advice taken." She smiled. "What’s your name?" ~She is kind of a looker, wonder if she's spoken for?~ "Chief O'Malley, Sir, Thomas O'Malley." he said smiling as well. "Can you arrange for my luggage to be delivered to my quarters?" She asked quickly. "Well I'm sure you'll be busy, in the sickbay and all, but they haven't assigned you quarters, I can watch your things, and if you send me your room number, I can arrange to have them put in your room for you, " he said finally. "Thank-you. I'll see you later," she said, and with that she exited the transporter room, the door whooshing shut behind her. ~What does she think I am? A concierge?~ (Posted by Todd) (USS Champlain - Transporter Room 1 - ACMO - Ens(jg) Deanno Lorn - 1244) Deanno stepped of the turbolift onto the bridge. She walked up to the Lt. Cmmdr and remembered what the transporter chief said about saluting. She wouldn’t make that mistake again, "Ensign Deanno Lorn, Assistant Chief Medical Officer. Reporting for Duty from Starfleet Command." She said. She stood respectfully. (Posted by John G.) (USS Champlain - Bridge – FO - Lieutenant Commander Ulia Mason - 1248) Ulia sat in the command chair, engrossed in her work. She shook her head and rubbed her temples. She didn't like the group being down there in this state, without sufficient intelligence and without more than one doctor and two science officers. There was more there than met the eye, that was plain to see. Ulia's reverie was interrupted by yet another fresh face. "Ensign Deanno Lorn, Assistant Chief Medical Officer. Reporting for Duty from Starfleet Command." ~Starfleet Command? She looks more like she's from the Academy than Starfleet Command. How do these people keep finding us in the middle of nowhere?~ Ulia thought quickly before tapping a key on her PADD and bringing up the woman's file. "You mean you're reporting from Starfleet Academy, Ensign. If you were from Starfleet Command you would have considerably more pips," Ulia stated raising an eyebrow. The woman was obviously nervous and had misspoken. Still, Ulia had an expectation of verbal precision, it tended to save lives. (Reply Lorn) "We need another doctor, so I am glad you're here. I may eventually need you down on the surface of the planet as well. However, at the moment, you're not briefed as to what is going on. I want you to go and read up on Ivor Prime in your quarters, at least the portions that are not classified. I'll try to fill in the blanks later. Currently your Chief Medical Officer is down there, on the planet. He's the only doctor with them. When you need to be sent down, expect things to move very quickly. Until then, acquaint yourself with the ship and your quarters. You'll find it is large and will take some getting used to. Any questions?" asked Ulia. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Bridge - ACMO - Dr. Deanno Lorn - 1251) "You mean you're reporting from Starfleet Academy, Ensign. If you were from Starfleet Command you would have considerably more pips," Ulia stated raising an eyebrow. ~Oh no...~ Deanno thought, ~already one mistake~ She continued to think. "Sorry, Sir." Deanno said quickly. She looked around the bridge, she felt a little embarrassed. "We need another doctor, so I am glad you're here. I may eventually need you down on the surface of the planet as well. However, at the moment, you're not briefed as to what is going on. I want you to go and read up on Ivor Prime in your quarters, at least the portions that are not classified. I'll try to fill in the blanks later. Until then, acquaint yourself with the ship and your quarters. You'll find its large and will take some getting used to. Any questions?" asked Ulia. Lorn nodded, "Yes, Sir. One question, Sir. Where are my quarters?" Deanno said, feeling rather stupid asking the question in the middle of the command centre. (Posted by John G.) (USS Champlain - Bridge – FO - Lieutenant Commander Ulia Mason - 1255) "Yes, Sir. One question, Sir. Where are my quarters?" Deanno asked. Ulia looked at the young woman for an instant and inwardly wondered why the transporter chief hadn't imparted that information. That was, after all, standard operating procedure. Ulia wondered if the new doctor had 'missed' the information or if the transporter chief had made the error. It was something to look into later. Regardless of who was at fault, the error had to be rectified as Ulia couldn't have Lorn camping out on the bridge, especially during a mission op and especially when they were already at heightened security due to concerns over spies. "You will find the Quartermaster's Office right beside the transporter room you came in through. See him, and he'll assign your quarters and ensure that your baggage ends up in the right place. He will also give you the codes you need to activate your door locks and other equipment in the quarters. I'll have your credentials transferred into the system so you can access other ships systems as per your station by 1330," said Ulia without blinking. (Posted by Jeff) (USS Champlain - Bridge - ACMO - Dr. Deanno Lorn (Ensign JG) - 1257) The first officer looked up at the newly equipped Doctor with a quizzically look upon her face. "You will find the Quartermaster's Office right beside the transporter room you came in through. See him, and he'll assign your quarters and ensure that your baggage ends up in the right place. He will also give you the codes you need to activate your door locks and other equipment in the quarters. I'll have your credentials transferred into the system so you can access other ships systems as per your station by 1330," Ulia Mason said. Deanno found it quite disturbing that the First officer was able to speak all that to Deanno and NOT blink what-so-ever. Lorn shook her head slightly and smiled, "Thank-you, Sir. I will be ready when called for." She said as kindly as she could. She could feel the high anxiety levels of the bridge crew around her as she turned to leave. Deanno stepped into the turbolift and headed back to where she had came from. Once she had completed everything she needed to do with the quartermaster, she tapped the new COMM Badge she had received and said. "Dr. Deanno Lorn to CPO Thomas O'Malley" (Reply Thomas O'Malley) "I have received my quarters and would like you to sort out that my baggage be sent to the correct quarters" (Reply Malley) "Thank-you, Crewman O'Malley. If I have time - I would like to thank-you for how kind you have been to me; Sometime in Ten Forward." She said over the COMM Link. (Reply Malley) "Lorn out" She said as she tapped her COMM Badge once again. She checked the time and it had taken her longer than she had expected; as it was now 1315. She decided that Sickbay was her next safe bet on where she should go. Once again she boarded a turbolift and set of for Sickbay. (Posted by John G.) (USS Champlain - Transporter Rm 1 - Transporter Chief - CPO Thomas O'Malley - 1312) Chief O'Malley was monitoring the away team, in case they needed to be transported in a hurry back on board. =^= Dr. Deanno Lorn to CPO Thomas O'Malley =^= came the feminine voice over his COM badge. ~Oh, the looker.~ "This is O'Malley, what can I do for you, Doc?" he said after activating his COM badge with a lazy tap. =^=I have received my quarters and would like you to sort out that my baggage be sent to the correct quarters.=^= "Just send the room number to my station, Sir and I'll handle it personally." he said with a smile that she had no way of seeing. =^=Thank-you, Crewman O'Malley. (Reply Lorn) =^=Lorn out.=^= Came the last word of their discussion. ~Take that Nate, you can't have ALL the beauties in the medical department!~ (posted by Todd) (Ivor Prime – Ivor City – Underground Lab, Warp Core Section - ACEO Ensign Paul Bird - 1552) ~ Oh no , what now . ~ Paul thought, as he returned the ensign's greeting . He knew that his experience with other cultures and peoples was limited , but one thing knew was that Vulcans were emotionless and didn't go round smiling and saying " Hi " .Paul was confused and just couldn't place this ' Gabe ' .... Unless he was a hybrid perhaps ? ~ Oh get me in an engine , they're so much simpler . ~ , just as Paul was thinking this the ensign gave out orders , and would you know it he got his wish . ~ Perhaps , I should be ' careful what you wish for ' ~ . (Posted by Paul F) (Ivor Prime - Under Ivor City – Tac CPO Kohlass - 1550) Wolfe looked to Kohlass and nodded sharply. "I'm glad you think so, Chief, because my way is the only way we do things. That's the best part about being Captain,” he said, with a wry smile. “As it should be, Captain”, Kohlass replied with an absolutely straight face… but inwardly he returned Wolfe’s grin. Serving under a Captain such as this one made it easier to put his rejection by the IKDS behind him and move on… perhaps he had more to offer in Starfleet anyway. Presently the pair was at the entrance to the sickbay. Kohlass was a bit surprised to discover that the med lab was on a lower level than the area that they had just dropped into from the tunnels overhead a few minutes before… he had been under the impression from Sullivan’s communiqués that it was on the same level as the main lab. He shook his head slightly and shrugged as Wolfe spoke. "If you don't mind, I'd rather do this the easy way. The walk was good. You needed to work the anti-venom into your muscles and I needed to ensure it was working properly. However, jumping, falling or attempting to fly into that place seems a bit silly at this point." “Indeed, Sir,” replied Kohlass. ~ Not to mention how silly it is to put the med lab on a different level than the main lab floor… but who am I to say? ~ Wolfe ordered a point-to-point, and soon the two men stood before the Vulcan doctor. Kohlass watched the slightly strange exchange between Wolfe and Mor’rel… then Wolfe took his leave, ordering him to return to duty as soon as Mor’rel cleared him. “Yes, Sir”, Kohlass replied to Wolfe. Then he turned to the doctor. “What do you require of me, Sir?” Kohlass growled, albeit politely. (Posted by Connie) (Ivor Prime - Under Ivor City - Medical Centre – CMO - Doctor Mor'rel - 1557) Mor'rel watched as the grumbly Klingon and the Captain entered the medical centre. Mor'rel was aware of the wounds in the large being almost immediately. He felt a rise in concern and surprise despite himself as Wolfe described the attack of the creature and his work to create an anti-venom. Mor'rel nodded, "If you created the anti-venom properly, he should be alright at this point, Sir. However, I do wish to double check and ensure that everything is as it should be. This is, of course, no reflect on your abilities, simply a desire on my part to be thorough." With that Mor'rel cocked his head slightly. He had been attempting to be more 'diplomatic' as this had been a complaint from several members of the crew on the Boudicca and now on the Champlain. To his relief, the captain nodded and began to move on. "What do you require of me, Sir?" the Klingon growled softly. "Mr. Kohlass, if you could please lie on this bio-bed. The technology is not as good as what I have on the Champlain, however it should be good enough to ensure that you are healing properly and the anti-venom is working," said Mor'rel. (Reply Kohlass) "Please, tell me of the sensations you felt from the poison. Was there numbness? Burning? Your descriptions will aid me in categorizing it and mapping the areas of the cranium and the internal organs it attacked," Mor'rel stated plainly, "This will allow me to check for further damage." (Posted by Jeff) (Ivor Prime - Underground Generation Station - ACEO - Ensign Gabriele Suvik- Bertorelli - 1559) “I would be most pleased to hear your report,” said Rellie in a congenial tone. Her exoskeleton made a slight whirring noise and Gabe tried to ignore it. He was well aware of the reasons why Rellie was wearing it and he tried not to let it influence in the way he treated the Elaysian. Beside, she was his commanding officer. He wondered momentarily what it would be like for a ‘normal’ grav humanoid on her home world. “The colony is deserted, ma’am, in that there are no physical beings here. The City is a ghost town and it looks like the inhabitants just decided to leave. One would surmise that this could be due to the Borg threat. However, Ensign Frazier has been bombarded by disembodied minds, probably in a telepathic way. I believe we have discovered one artifact of Iconian origin but that is still being investigated…” In the corner of his eye he could see Stanton talking Frazier. Stanton looked pissed. He looked away and focused on his CO. “There are a number of engineering issues that need to be rectified. The matter / anti-matter generator was on the verge of a breach. Stanton, Frazier, LaQua and I managed to stabilize the system for now. The coolant tanks breached and I was unable to avert it. We erected a high level force filed and contained the coolant until the system was operational and could be pumped back into the system. My initial conclusion was that the system had malfunctioned due to lack of repair and maintenance. To be honest, I‘m surprised a breach didn‘t occur earlier.” (Reply Delzar) “Yes, Ma’am. I also found a program in engineering system. At first I thought it was a piece of corrupted computer code and Frazier’s appraisal was the same. However, the code is nowhere near anything used by the Federation. I have the Champlain computer running a quarantined copy of the program and I am waiting or the results. I suspect that this program, although completely incompatible with standard Starfleet software, was partly responsible for the failing systems. I found it in a sub-file but on second inspection it appears to have copied itself to a number of primary systems.” (Reply Delzar / Chuss / Bird) “And one last thing: The reactor. It looks like it was designed to overload.” (Posted by Matt) (Ivor Prime - Underground Generation Station - CEO - Lieutenant Rellie Dezlar - 1602) Rellie nodded a quick hello to Ensign Bird as he greeted her upon landing as well as Suvik-Bertorelli. She then listened to Ensign Suvik-Bertorelli's report. Things were grave, in some ways at least. The reason a breach didn't occur was relatively simple. "Well Ensign, I'd say that we tripped the system to come back on again by entering... or people have been getting it up and running. A reactor system that is turned off doesn't tend to blow up. We need to get the reactor stabilized immediately. Start beaming down some parts from the Champlain. This reactor is about 40 years behind our times, so the parts will have to be replicated. We probably could use a container of coolant too," stated Rellie, starting to feel more comfortable, "Is there anything else?" “Yes, Ma’am. I found it in a sub-file but on second inspection it appears to have copied itself to a number of primary systems.” "Alright, first lets get the reactor back to spec and then we can puzzle over your code. There has to be some explanation," said Rellie. “And one last thing: The reactor. It looks like it was designed to overload.” "Or perhaps provide the excess energy created by an overload? They might have thought they had an item or method to harness it. Again, lets get regular power back to the facility, then we can investigate all the other possibilities. Get any extra team members you need. I'm going to start looking at the power leads," said Rellie as she started to work. (Posted by Jeff) (Ivor Prime - Ivor City –Underground Lab- COps Ensign Bree Frazier - 1605) Bree had been briefly amused be Leesa’s little temper tantrum… apparently, years of being attuned to social gossip had sharpened her ears to an almost unnatural degree for that sort of thing. But Bree couldn’t help but be worried about the poor fool… she seemed to have no clue that nobody had any business wandering off alone… this was a team effort. Her first foray alone had gotten her hurt, but she was still trying to play the cowgirl. ~ No learning curve… oh, well… nothing I can do about it. If she wants to act like an a*s, let her. I have more important things to think about. ~ The shock of contact with the dusty, angry ghost was wearing off as LaQua miraculously identified the skeleton as that of Dr. Patris. That confirmation brought together some of the pieces Bree were putting together from the files she’d hacked into. Meanwhile, d’Kla continued to sniff around a particularly odd-looking artifact like a kitten circling a birdcage. He suggested that Wolfe be invited to the party. ~ Good idea… finally… ~ Bree obligingly tapped her com badge. “Captain, this is Frazier. Professor d’Kla suggests you join us in the main lab… looks like he’s found something.” (Reply Wolfe) Bree had the computers and power systems running on their own well enough to let them roll for a while, so she turned her attention to d’Kla. “Professor, I think the colonists are still here, somehow, on the planet… and that this guy”, she said, glancing at the skeleton, “was murdered for trying to stop one of his scientists from activating this… thing, whatever it is. I got the impression they were afraid of something… and that their funding from Starfleet was drying up. I also discovered that it was found on the Iconian worlds… but other than that… well, what do you think it’s for, Sir? Could it explain what happened to the colonists? "Alright folks, Ensign Suvik-Bertorelli is on his way to join us. So, what is it exactly that you've found Professor?" d'Kla moved excitedly around a large piece of equipment with a console with strange writing on it silently for an instant. "In 2366," the Coridanite hissed, "The Enterprisssse found one of thessse gatewaysss and dessstroyed it. It wassss an insssstantaneoussss transssport devicssse. It could have easssily been usssed for conquessst, hencsse Ssstarfleet'sss decssission to dessstroy it and any othersss they found. Thisss one wasss obviousssly sssspared for ssstudy." Edwardy nodded, now remembering the mission and studying it in the academy. Still though, it didn't account for much. "Okay, I understand what you're saying, but could it have made the entire colony disappear?" "There issss little we know about the technology. I would need it activated to properly ssstudy it further," d'Kla stated as he began to look around the consoles again. Edward nodded and looked around, "Alright, Ensign Frazier, looks like we have a job on our hands. Contact the engineering team, and let them know the levels of power we need and what we need them for. See if some 25th Century modifications will help us get this running. Ensign LaQua, help Professor d'Kla decipher the script. Ensign Suvik-Bertorelli, ensure we can get the power we need actually to this device. Lets see what we can make happen, but be careful." =^=Lt. Janeway to Capt. Wolfe and Lt. d'Kla's'turr.=^= "The professor is currently indisposed. I'm here though. Go ahead," stated Edward calmly. =^=Ensign Sullivan has continued on down the tunnel she was scouting before the attack. She has made it several metres in before finding organic remains of what it seems to be a 'common lab rat' from the Sol System. It's a cross breed between a normal rat and the beast which attacked Ensign Kohlass. Ensign Sullivan has also found some unusual energy readings which her tri-corder cannot identify, she believes she is directly above the science lab. I am following in her footsteps and will meet with the Ensign in a few minutes. I was wondering whether Lt. d'Kla's'turr's tri-corder would be able to analyze the energy readings that Sullivan was getting easier?=^= "Currently, the professor is rather engaged with his device on a priority assignment. My advice would be to take the sample to sickbay. See if Doctor Mor'rel has some time to have a look. We might need reinforcements, especially from medical, scientific and engineering. Once you get to the med lab, look into that please and then report back," replied Edward. (Posted by Jeff) (Ivor Prime - Ivor city –Underground Lab- SO- EnsignSG- Derrick LaQua - 1611) "Ensign LaQua, help Professor d'Kla decipher the script." said the Captain as Derrick turned around. "Yes Sir.Be very happy to." answered LaQua and then proceed over to the Professor.LaQua looked over the script and was amazed at the detail of the writing style. The precession of the lines and the he wounded what these people were like. LaQua looked at the Professor and said,” Well where would you like to start at Professor?" (Posted John Merriott) (Ivor Prime - Underground Research Complex - SC/TAC, Lt. Jono Janeway - 1613) =^=Currently, the professor is rather engaged with his device on a priority assignment. My advice would be to take the sample to sickbay. See if Doctor Mor'rel has some time to have a look. We might need reinforcements, especially from medical, scientific and engineering. Once you get to the med lab, look into that please and then report back,=^= replied Edward over the COMM Link. Jono simply said, "Yes, Sir." before closing the link down and continuing onto Sullivan's position. "Sir, I believe the secondary energy reading is a residual from some past experiment in the science lab. Affecting this rat after it escaped, either with that energy or that energy and the gravitons from the rail, mutated the animal over the course of several weeks, a change so radical the mutations were probably painful, causing the creature to attack Chief Kohlass, something a rat would never do. The DNA mutations, the fangs and venom, the claws and the photo-tropic qualities, perhaps some others, only a full analysis and gene mapping from the science team or medical could give any definitive answers." T'Larah said finishing her report to Janeway; once he had caught up. Jono listened intently and nodded quietly. "We have been ordered back to the Med Lab. Take samples of that DNA; hopefully Dr. Mor'rel can get some definitive readings of it." Jono said as he nodded back down the tunnel. (Reply Sullivan) He waited until Sullivan had collected the DNA before setting of at a simple jogging pace towards the Med Lab. (Posted by Jono) (Ivor Prime - Underground Research Complex - ATAC Ensign T'Larah Sullivan- 1614) "We have been ordered back to the Med Lab. Take samples of that DNA; hopefully Dr. Mor'rel can get some definitive readings of it." Jono said. " I'll take multiple samples, the mutations happened over a few weeks, so the Doctor can get a better picture of what happened, I'm confident he will come to the basic conclusion I have," she said confidently and used her tricorder to take appropriately timed 'samples' from the creature's bedding. "...and if I'm correct sir, there should be only one of these things." Now complete the Lieutenant began jogging toward the med lab. T'Larah suppressed her competitive urge to run him into the ground. There weren't many humans alive who could out run her. ~How far does he think the med lab is?~ she thought to her self. Her competitive side finally got the better of her. "Do you run a lot sir?" she inquired. (Reply Janeway) "Well, I have this program for improving my time in the holodeck, you may find it interesting." she said evenly trying to leave the program as a surprise for him. (Reply Janeway) "Well, either way, make sure to hydrate, it is quite challenging." she said evenly. Finally making it to the med lab, they rounded the open archway she was not greeted by the crimson glow of the emergency lighting, but by the bright white lights of the exam lights. "Go see Dr. Mor'rel with that DNA, See what he can get out of it." Jono said. "Understood." she said simply. Approaching the good Doctor, she placed the scraps of cloth from various times the rat-born creature used as bedding, " Sir, here are the samples we were directed to obtain, " she informed him, " I took several samples to map out for you the general progress of the creature's mutations, earlier I took a blood sample, you'll find it in the med kit that Captain Wolfe brought with him to the med lab." (Reply Doctor Mor'rel) "Anything else, Sir?" she inquired. (Posted by Todd) (Ivor Prime - Underground Research Complex - SC/TAC, Lt. Jono Janeway - 1616) "Do you run a lot sir?" she inquired. Jono thought about the question for a moment, he didn't particularly 'like' running, but he did seem to do a lot of it on away missions. He nodded, "Well It gets me from A to B" He said not particularly bothered. He was quite pleased that the Ensign was trying to converse him in conversation.. If they knew each other a little and were able to communicate it would make both of their jobs so much easier. "Well, I have this program for improving my time in the holodeck, you may find it interesting." T'Larah said. Jono smiled, "Thank-you, Ensign. I may have a look at it when this mission is over. Is it just about running or is there anything else in it?" He asked, suddenly having a thought that T'Larah may be trying to trick him and leave out some vital points about the program. (Reply Sullivan) "Well I must say it sounds, Very interesting." Jono said as he kept on moving at a steady pace. "Well, either way, make sure to hydrate, it is quite challenging." she said evenly. Jono nodded. (Posted by Jono) (Ivor Prime - Underground Research Complex - ATAC Ensign T'Larah Sullivan - 1618) Jono smiled, "Thank-you, Ensign. I may have a look at it when this mission is over. Is it just about running or is there anything else in it?" he said, seeming like he was expecting to get pelted with tomatoes or some other practical joke. "Well, Sir, it's a little run in, I guess you would call it my 'home town', on the Plain of Gol on Vulcan, it consists of a few hills and dips, the parts near the start/finish line are nearly perfectly flat, better for sprinting." she said finishing with, "You may want to stop off at Sick Bay and talk to Doctor Mor'rel, for a tri-ox injection." "Well I must say it sounds, Very interesting." Jono said as he kept on moving at a steady pace. "Well, either way, make sure to hydrate, it is quite challenging." she said evenly. Jono nodded. Some how, T'Larah thought that her boss really wouldn't get HOW challenging unless he ran the course on the program. (Posted by Todd) (Ivor Prime - Underground Lab – Helm – Ensign Leesa Stanton – 1622) Stanton worked out her anger by physically pushing herself harder, redirecting her rage into energy to move quickly and efficiently from room to room. In the first storeroom that she come to she’d been lucky enough to find a maglev trolley which she now used to load up boxes and cases containing everything from computer components to parts that the engineers would be able to put to good use on repairing the stations reactor. She even found a compartment which she could only describe as an archive of some type which kept various files and records, possibly on the work done in the main lab although she could not be sure without going through everything. She had just finished loading the last case of records onto the trolley when she stopped and turned looking around her. For a long moment she stood still listening, not moving. All around her she heard sounds of movement, slight rustlings here and there, the sounds of scurrying, coming closer and closer. Grabbing the trolley she began heading back toward the main lab but she knew that she had a long way to go and the sounds of movement kept getting closer and closer. After some minutes of moving as quickly as the heavy trolley would allow, she finally stopped and turned to face the direction of the whispering sound and then suddenly her eyes widened and whipping her phaser out she began firing. (Posted By: Ken Thacker) (Ivor Prime - Underground Med Lab - SC/TAC, Lt. Jono Janeway - 1625) Jono and T'Larah had made good progress and made it to the Med Lab in just over 10 minutes. They entered and Jono turned to T'Larah, "Go see Dr. Mor'rel with that DNA, See what he can get out of it." Jono said nodding towards Mor'rel. (posted by Jono) (USS Champlain - Bridge – FO - Lieutenant Commander Ulia Mason - 1629) Ulia paced nervously waiting for a communiqué from the planet. They had become better about checking in on time since the signal problems had been cleared up, however she still felt a sense of foreboding about their activities. Relief surged through her when a familiar voice was piped onto the bridge. =^=Lt. Janeway to USS Champlain=^= "This is Lieutenant Commander Mason on the Champlain. Go ahead Lieutenant," she replied. =^=The captain has requested back-up personnel from especially these areas; Medical, Scientific and Engineering.=^= "Understood Mr. Janeway. I have two engineers, two scientists and one doctor on standby. Please give me a location to send them to," Ulia replied. There was no sense in fooling around. She didn't want to assume anything at this point. (Reply Janeway) "Are there any other articles that you need for any of the teams? We might as well send cargo down at the same time," said Ulia. (Reply Janeway) "Understood, prepare to receive team C," Mason stated before the channel cut, "Champlain out." Ulia looked around the bridge for a second before sending the order to scientific and engineering and then she contacted their new Ensign. "Lieutenant Commander Mason to Ensign Lorn. You are to prepare for transport to Ivor Prime immediately. Report to transporter room two. Bring medical supplies and equipment that can be easily carried and transported. Mason out." (Reply Janeway, any) (Posted by Jeff)
