Pierce checked his screens. "Sir, Endeavour Two appears to be what she is: a damaged ship. No threat," he replied quickly. The ship rocked a bit from drone fire, despite his best efforts to discourage the drones. ~Must be controlled remotely from the Starbase; the movements are not precise enough to be computers. Hey, that gives me an idea...~ He mulled his idea over as he set up the program to selectively drop the shields in the transporter beam path, and then spoke up: "Captain, what if we jammed all communications to those drones? They're being remotely piloted from the Starbase. If we jam them, they will either shut down or activate secondary piloting protocols. The secondaries aren't nearly as good as their primaries." (Reply Remae, any) (Posted by Lenox) NRPG: Sorry I've been quiet -- I've been hopping all around lately. (USS Spectre, Bridge, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 15.20) "Captain, what if we jammed all communications to those drones? They're being remotely piloted from the Starbase. If we jam them, they will either shut down or activate secondary piloting protocols. The secondaries aren't nearly as good as their primaries." Remae considered the Security Chief's plan for a moment; he didn't have to think for long. "By all means.", he said, a small smile on his face as he thought about the reactions of the controllers on Starbase 8. Pierce sent out the jamming signal and before long, several drones were easy pickings as they either shut down or drifted off in the wrong direction from the Spectre, phasers shot out and even a photon let fly as the drones, at least for now, were destroyed. "Sir, could I supervise the medical transfers?", asked the First Officer. The Spectre was approaching their target, a small transport vessel; part of their training mission was to rescue wounded and other survivors. Remae nodded at Kahila and she was off to the turbolift, even as the Spectre was making evasive turns and firing at the automated drones attacking the ship. "Commence transports at once.", ordered the Captain, "Use as many of the transporter rooms as we can, lets see how fast we can evacuate that ship." The Spectre was capable of holding many times its current crew compliment but it was going to be a squeeze, cargo holds and everyone else was soon going to be filled up with triage and emergency holding rooms. Luckily, Kahila was taking charge of that situation. =^= Captain, Lono here. The first evacuees have arrived, and casualties are being moved from the transporter room. =^= "Very well, keep us informed, Captain out." Remae stood up and headed towards his Ready Room. "You have the Bridge Mr Orde, inform me once the evacuation is complete, I also want a full sensor survey and damage report of the Endeavour, prepare a tractor beam for impulse towing and finally, lay in a course back to our away team, I don't want to leave them unprotected for long.", he said, laying out his orders. That gave him enough time to catch up on a few matters. (USS Spectre, Ready Room, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 15.50) << You have one message waiting for you >> The computer quickly read out his message, it looked like the CO of Starbase 8 had sent them a message. 'Hello Captain Remae, I hope you like the drones, nothing personal, you did very well but we have to cut short your training, we've priority orders for you, return to Utopia Planitia, further orders forthcoming at that time. Commander Chris Potas, Starbase 8.' =^= "Captain. Lono here. The injured are now being treated, and the uninjured have been assigned guest quarters. If you have no further orders, I'll come back to the Bridge. =^= "Negative Lieutenant, we've just received new orders, check with Engineering, and other departments, we've be dropping off our guests and heading back to Sector 001 within the hour. Captain out." (USS Spectre, Bridge, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 16.10) Remae walked onto the Bridge and as he did, he tapped his commbadge. "All hands, this is the Captain, we've received new orders to return to Sector 001 as soon as possible, this training session is suspended. Thank you, we've done well in the short time we were here, but now, we're going to collect our crew, drop off our 'casualties' to their base. Captain out." "CONN, lay in a course back to the away team and their ship, full impulse. Pierce, end Red Alert. Engage." The ship spun around from her location and head away at speed, back to the other Endeavour ship and where they dropped their team, but now, they had to move quickly, they had been called back and it must have been urgent, they were due back tomorrow anyway, whatever Starfleet wanted them back for, it must have been urgent. (Reply from Lono, Pierce, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) USS Spectre: Bridge - TAC/SC Pierce Orde - 15.20) "You have the Bridge Mr Orde, inform me once the evacuation is complete, I also want a full sensor survey and damage report of the Endeavour, prepare a tractor beam for impulse towing and finally, lay in a course back to our away team, I don't want to leave them unprotected for long.", the captain said. Pierce didn't move from his station when the captain left the bridge but acknowledged the orders and got to work. Within ten minutes, he reported the completion of the evacuation to the Captain by way of notice. In twenty minutes, he had finished his scans and noted that the damaged Endeavour did indeed carry scarring from weapons damage. Filing this away for a report to be given when the Captain requested it, he busied himself until the Captain returned. (USS Spectre: Bridge - TAC/SC Pierce Orde -16:55) "Pierce, escort the Ferengi to the Ready Room," Remae ordered. Pierce observed the captain leaving for his ready room, and quickly signaled for a replacement before moving quickly to the transporter room. (USS Spectre: Transporter Room - TAC/SC Pierce Orde - 1700) He met the Ferengi in the transporter room and immediately sized the fellow up. ~As dangerous as most other Ferengi, and somewhat anxious,~ he thought, raising an eyebrow. He escorted the Ferengi to the captain's ready room in silence, walking beside the Ferengi and somewhat glad that he was left-handed. NRPG: Left-handed would mean that he would wear his phaser on his right side -- a boon because most walk with their left side towards a person when beside someone. RPG: After depositing the Ferengi in the Captain's ready room, he mentioned that he had completed the sensor scans before leaving to resume his post on the Bridge. (USS Spectre: Bridge - TAC/SC Orde - 1710) ~Kahlia, dinner after we go off-duty?~ he sent wordlessly as he resumed his station. (Reply Kahlia, any) (Posted by Lenox) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACMO Anderson - 15.35) Rain sidestepped the two orderlies as they struggled with the large Klingon engineer. She tried to judge where she was needed the most but this task was difficult given the absolute chaos surrounding her. She glanced quickly at the various bio-readouts and moved to the one that showed the most desperate readings. She used her medical tricorder to scan the young human security officer and frowned when she saw the extent of the internal injuries he had sustained. She arranged for him to be moved immediately to the surgery team and then turned to find her next patient. ~He's surgical ... not medical. Still some bugs to be ironed out of the system...~ As she turned she noticed the FO entering sickbay. She nodded at Rain. "Obviously, everything is well organised here. Good work." Rain nodded back and tried a smile. She then turned back to the injured. She almost collided with Dr Cambridge. He managed to say "Report..." before she almost knocked him off his feet. "Oh... I'm sorry Dr Cambridge. I'm not used to such cramped facilities. It might not look like it but we are under control here and steadily getting through the casualties. The triage system is basically working well.... needs some fine tuning..."she thought of the patient she had just sent for surgery that should never have crossed her path..." but everything is working well" Rain noticed the blood spattering his coveralls and wondered how many patients he'd opened up since this mess started. "I haven't heard from DR Edison? I hope she is alright." Rain stated. (Reply Cambridge, any) (Posted by Wendy Keen) (USS Spectre, Engineering Department, Kahila Lono, 16:05) Kahila gazed at the readouts and schematics on the display, then listened to Ensign Longfellow's report. "We have a 'mobile error' in the system, but we've tracked it down and figured out where it will go wrong next and are taking the steps to block it and get a system restart as soon as possible," Hank said as he glanced to the board with a frown for a moment. "Two of the Jefferies Tubes were 'damaged' during the hazard with one crewman 'dead' during repairs since he didn't scan before crawling into the 'plasma filled area' and another that simply lost consciousness," Hank added with a smirk. "However the tubes have been 'cleared properly' and we're waiting to contain and eliminate the system error before start up," he added simply. Kahila nodded, "Very good, Ensign." Then she smiled, and said, "When I have more time, I'd like to familiarize myself a little more with the work of the Engineering Department. Not only is it essential, but I find it fascinating in its own right." (reply Longfellow) Then their conversation was suddenly interrupted by the shipwide communication: "All hands, this is the Captain, we've received new orders to return to Sector 001 as soon as possible, this training session is suspended. Thank you, we've done well in the short time we were here, but now, we're going to collect our crew, drop off our 'casualties' to their base. " Kahila looked back at Hank. "Well, This certainly changes things. If you'll examine your board, you'll no doubt find that the simulated error has been eliminated. Thank you, Ensign." She nodded, then turned and left the department, noticing that now the Red Alert status had ended, and all shipboard systems were back online. She began to feel the excitement and anticipation of the new mission. ~It might be something important, even urgent, for Starfleet to cut short the Spectre's training. The Captain didn't even get a chance to test the new cloaking device!~ reply any (posted by Josephine Goodman) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACMO Rain Anderson - 16.12) Rain snapped her tricorder shut and was about to move to the new patient when an announcement sounded. "All hands, this is the Captain, we've received new orders to return to Sector 001 as soon as possible, this training session is suspended. Thank you, we've done well in the short time we were here, but now, we're going to collect our crew, drop off our 'casualties' to their base. Captain out." Rain glanced around sickbay and a smirk grew across her face as the majority of the wounded sat up and began to move around sickbay. Of course there were still a few minor injuries that had occurred on board when the ship had been jolted by the weapons fire, but there seemed to be a collective sigh of relief at the announcement. "Well done, everyone!" she said loudly. "It seems the crisis has passed. I want reports from all team heads to me by tomorrow at 0900. Let's get sick bay back in order." The numerous medical staff began to wave good-bye to their "casualties" and assist the real wounded further. Rain delegated some duties to junior medical staff and then left in search of DR Cambridge. She found him monitoring the vitals of Rhea Edison. "How's she doing doc?" she asked, looking over the bio-readings herself. (Reply Cambridge, any) (Posted by Wendy Keen) (USS Spectre, Main Engineering, Ensign(jg) Hank Longfellow - 16:15) Kahila nodded, "Very good, Ensign." Then she smiled, and said, "When I have more time, I'd like to familiarize myself a little more with the work of the Engineering Department. Not only is it essential, but I find it fascinating in its own right." Hank nodded once curtly. "Of course Ma'am," he stated firmly. "If you have any questions of the functions here of ship or crew under this department you may of course feel free to ask. If I don't have an answer for you then I shall do my best to forward your requests to those most likely…," he started to answer then paused as an announcement came over the shipwide communications systems. "All hands, this is the Captain, we've received new orders to return to Sector 001 as soon as possible, this training session is suspended. "Well, This certainly changes things. If you'll examine your board, you'll no doubt find that the simulated error has been eliminated. Thank you, Ensign." She nodded and Hank returned it before looking back to the board once more and watching the reds and yellows vanish into greens. The engineer glanced over his shoulder for a moment to watch the XO go then looked back to the display and shook his head with a smirk. ~Almost a pity that such a thing couldn't be done every time. Half the ship breaks down with crew injured or killed off and a simple order from Starfleet repairs the ship instantly, heals the crew and even brings the dead back to life,~ he thought grimly with a smirk as he reached up to start coordinating efforts to check systems over to make sure there were no linger effects such as someone on a Starbase forgetting to turn anything back on that they turned off. "Standard low level systems check of.. everything.. again," Hank stated firmly to those around him as he crossed his arms and stood watching the board. "Check the systems in cycles of maintenance as not to interfere with normal ship operations," he said before moving back over to the duty station and checking on the other ensign there. "Yell if things start to go red again," he said with a shrug. "I'm going to deck 6 and work on the door for the theater," he said as he checked the engineering kit and tricorder at his hip. "Low priority but each thing fixed in turn," he added as he moved for the doors once more. Remae made note to talk to him about it as soon as possible, perhaps on their trip back to their base. The warp drive was back online, a quick command from the Starbase had removed the recursive error they had sent into the ships computer that simulated a warp core problem. "Course laid in back to Sector 001.", reported the CONN Officer. "Warp 8.", said Remae but before he could order the warp drive engaged, something unexpected happened. =^= This is Daimon Gort of the Ferengi vessel Avarice, requesting permission to beam aboard, but in the meantime perhaps my ship could offer some assistance? =^= "Daimon?
