With little difficulty, he had been able to confirm the alibis and whereabouts of CSec Mosul and Doctor Harvey. Internal sensor logs and eyewitness testimony, had cleared both as suspects in Captain Taylor's murder. Ben had returned to his quarters to sleep, but Sanok remained on the base to continue his research. Out of everything that he had seen, heard, and read, the report from Doctor Ichijo had bothered him the most, and he was forced to admit to himself that bothered was the correct word. It had gotten to the point where he needed to get out of the security office to clear his mind. Finding a vacant observation lounge where he could stand and look out at the stars, had aided in his concentration. It was logical that someone, or something, had held Taylor in place while he was being killed; there had simply been no other explanation. To discover that it had been forcefield technology found only on Starfleet vessels and installations was also logical. This meant only two possible explanations, the most logical, being the most distasteful. Captain Taylor had been murdered by someone in Starfleet, or a civilian was somehow able to illicitly access Starfleet technology. The most logical was a Starfleet murderer, as Starfleet technology had the best security protections available. Though many times, Starfleet personnel turned out to be criminals, and even at the highest levels, but it was still distasteful to be forced to consider that. If the killer was indeed a civilian, it showed just how lax and corrupt things had become on SB 989. Sanok was wrong. Both were equally distasteful. Knowing that Taylor had been held in place by a type III phased energy field emitter had not made things easier for Sanok. Oh, it explained why there was no physical evidence from the killer on the body, but it didn't explain why there was no physical evidence that someone other than Mosul and Harvey had been in the room. It also didn't explain what the murder weapon was and how it had disappeared. After staring some more at the stars, he decided on a different approach. Linking his PADD to the base computer, he began reading about the uses of a type III phased energy emitter.... Where would you like to meet?=/\= "I'll meet you at airlock three." Ben replied. He preferred to have this conversation in an area he felt comfortable in, if this was related to the investigation he didn't want to anyone overhearing what he was going to say or how Eian might respond. =/\=Aye, Sir, I'll be right there. O'Neill out.=/\= With that Ben headed towards the Rosenate's berth. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante- Airlock 3- CTAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma- 0657) Ben entered the airlock to find Eian waiting, he looked rested and refreshed where as Ben himself felt as if he hadn't slept in three days. The investigation wasn't proceeding as well as he would have liked. So far there were no real leads and he was no closer to finding Taylor's murderer. He sealed the airlock and quickly scanned for listening devices before he spoke. "The Rosenante received an order to have the ship made fully holocapable." Ben stated. "That order held your biometric signature." (reply O'Neill) "I had the system locked out in the event it may be an attempt to gain access to the ship or her systems." Ben said. "Who have you given your signature to in the past couple days?" (reply O'Neill) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Airlock 3 - ACEO Ensign Eian O'Neill - Day 3 - 0658) Eian entered the airlock...~an odd place to request a meeting~... He saw Ben standing there, looking none too happy. ~He looks exhausted. Maybe I should've offered to help him out last night?~ "The Rosenante received an order to have the ship made fully holocapable." Ben stated as soon as he walked in. "That order held your biometric signature." The pit of Eian's stomach seemed to fall out. He felt like his innards were plummeting down a black hole. ~Oooooh, sh*t.~ Was all he could think. A security breach, one that he allowed, would ruin his chances of getting into Tactical for sure. What the hell did he DO? "I didn't authorize anything, Sir...this is a breach in security. We have to seal off the system--" he started, his heartbeat starting to slow as his brain started to think. He was certainly stimulated enough, and he started to go through what he needed to do in logical steps. ~Okay, put aside the thought of demotion or blocked transfer for just a moment, think. Seal off the system. Go through the logs. Retrace your steps. Locate the breach. "I had the system locked out in the event it may be an attempt to gain access to the ship or her systems." Ben said, and Eian was infinitely relieved. ~Step one down.~ It appeared that Ben was one step ahead of him as well. "Who have you given your signature to in the past couple days?" he asked. "I signed in for the tournament yesterday, and I signed my incident report at the security office. The day before that, I ordered some holosuite time with the Ferengi Quol Nor," Eian answered immediately. He had already thought of the answers while Ben was talking. ~And step 3 is to investigate each lead.~ "Would you like me to investigate any of those, Sir?" (reply Soma) (posted by Morgan G) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Airlock 3 - CTAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma - 0700) "I signed in for the tournament yesterday, and I signed my incident report at the security office. The day before that, I ordered some holosuite time with the Ferengi Quol Nor," Eian answered immediately. Ben had also signed at the tournament and at the security office, the tournament may be a lead to look into but the security office was most likely uninvolved. Quol Nor was a name he had heard before, he heard it during the murder investigation and now it came up related to a security breach on the Rosenante. Was it merely a coincidence or was there another connection there, he'd have to check the Ferengi out and see what his story was. "Would you like me to investigate any of those, Sir?" Ben considered the request for a moment, Eian was eager to help out and did hold a security major. He didn't want to place any pressure on him or to distract him form his normal duties. "I'd like for you to check into the request and see if you can determine where it originated from. There may be a connection that we could use in the investigation." Ben replied. "There was a reason why they wanted the Rosenante fully holocapable and I'd like to know why." Ben knew Eian wanted to be more involved but for now there other matters that required his attention, at least the task would keep him in the loop and might reveal some interesting information. (reply O'Neill iyw) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Airlock 3 - ACEO Ensign Eian O'Neill - Day 3 - 0702) "I'd like for you to check into the request and see if you can determine where it originated from. There may be a connection that we could use in the investigation." Ben replied. "There was a reason why they wanted the Rosenante fully holocapable and I'd like to know why." Eian nodded eagerly. "Yes, Sir, I'll get right on it." He paused a moment, thinking about whether he should apologize for allowing this to happen. His first reaction was to do so, but as he reflected, he thought, ~I'm not to blame for this, and 'sorry' doesn't fix it. Getting to the bottom of it does.~ When Soma dismissed him, he headed straight for Engineering. He was going to run some diagnostic scans and see if he could determine the source of the request, and he was also going to see if anything about a holocapable starship was directly related to the murder of Captain Taylor. (Reply Stevens) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Holosuite Area Desk - Ferengi Entrepreneur - Quol Nor - 1007) Quol had been stewing in his own anger for three hours. How dare that Orion muscle-head even attempt to intimidate him. "Almost ruined my best suit." he mumbled to himself under his breath. He thought about what the best way to repay Nargo. He paced back and forth in the reception area and pondered, different ideas ran forth through his mind: ~I could implode his quarters. No, too brutish. I could poison his food. No, he'd never trust me to get close enough. I could take away all his financial possessions. No, last thing I need on my hands is a very muscular Orion with nothing to lose.~ His pacing stopped his eyes lit up as an idea, no the idea. This worked so well two days ago, it would work again. Those Starfleet morons would still never know what hit this station, even with the ringers from the Rosenante helping out. He pulled up the program out of the appropriate encrypted closed circuit storage. He was nearly giggling with glee as he altered the target portion of the program. Once finished the program took the task and made it their own. ~Funny if I was a small lobed Federation Officer, a self aware hologram might be an important discovery.~ Quol sat down in his chair waiting for his program to carry out it's new function wearing the biggest smile ever on his face. (Reply none) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- Orion Cargo Master - Nargo - Day 3- 1015) Nargo's legs were pumping hard as he bulldozed his way through the narrow corridor that ran along the outer docking arm of Starbase 989. The already narrow corridor was made even more so by the clutter of goods in quarantine containers in the stages of disembarkation stacked along the walls of the corridor. The big Orion bowled over a pair of Bolians carrying a class three shipping container. The big Orion stumbled, lost his footing and crashed to the ground in a less-than-graceful shoulder roll. The two Bolians were both thrown to either side as the kinetic energy from the unexpected impact caused them to be forced to either side of the corridor. It was hard to tell if they were more stunned that they had been bowled over by a near panicked Orion, or that he seemed almost frantically trying to escape from something or some one. Nargo, for his part, did not pause. He rolled out of the fall and regained his footing, although more awkwardly than would have been normal. The big Green man took a quick look behind him and continued to run hard for the docking ring where the Harveq was waiting for him. He knew that if he could just reach the hatch that he would be safe from the Ferengi's hit man and when T'Sek found out that he had sent an assassin after him, the Ferengi's days would be numbered. He began to slow his pace as he got closer to the ship. The Hit man had fallen well behind him and Nargo saw no sign of pursuit. The Big Orion grinned as he reached the last segment of the docking arm, certain that there was no way that the assassin could have gotten past him and into the dead end corridor between him and his destination. Nargo turned and walked backwards for a short distance keeping an eye out for the assassin. If T'Sek had allowed him to carry his disruptor, the man would be dead already. But that hadn't been allowed, and so Nargo, had found himself pursued at least for the time being. "You're not so tough" He snarled to the empty space behind him. "Neither are you." A voice answered directly behind him. Nargo stopped and swung around quickly to see the thin human man ahead of him. Quol Nor's assassin had somehow gotten past him and had been laying in wait this whole time. The man had some sort of sharpened U-shaped hook in his hand, and it was apparent that he was planning on using it. Nargo out massed the smaller being by at least sixty-kilos and the Orion knew that he wasn't going to have any trouble with the smaller man now that there was no one around to see them fight. It also helped that the human wasn't armed with anything other than a melee weapon. That meant that Nargo was going to kill him without too much trouble. "You're going to die human." "NO, Nargo, but you will." the man replied. Nargo's eyes narrowed. " You'd be better off trying to kill me with a sewing needle, Tailor. I'm going to rip your arms..." Suddenly there was a tightening across Nargo's body as if some sort of cocoon of force had closed in around him. The human smiled and tipped his broad-brimmed hat back slightly to allow Nargo to see his eyes. They were cold and lifeless. The man stepped forward and with a slow and deliberate ease, pushed the point of the weapon between the ninth and the tenth rib on the Orion's chest. He twisted it slowly so that the point of the spike, punctured the lung and then pierced three of the six chambers of the Orion's heart. As Nargo was trying to convulse as he died painfully, the human looked on and said, "My employer sends his best." A few moments later Nargo fell to the floor, dead. (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- Engineer- Kanzth Nosh - Day 3- 1017) Kanzth was walking along the docking arm carrying his engineering tool kit slung over his left shoulder. The Denobulan engineer was happily attempting to whistle a short tune called, Yankee doodle, that had been taught to him by one of his Human shipmates. He had been working for the last several minutes on chasing down an elusive electrical surge turned short in the docking arm. Normally he might have been irritated at being unsuccessful for so long, but today, he wasn't bothered by the relatively lazy morning at all. He had just walked past a stack of cargo crates, marked to be moved by Cargo later today, when he saw him. The large Orion was laying on the deck in a lump. ~Probably drunk.~ he thought as he walked up to rouse the large man and send him on his way. "Hey, you. No sleeping in the docking arm. You need to either return to your ship or get some quarters." he said as he approached. There was no response. "Hello..." the Denobulan repeated himself as he placed his tool kit on the deck beside the unmoving Orion male. Nosh reached down and swallowed the displeasure of making physical contact with the still form laying on the deck. He touched that larger being's shoulder, ready to leap backwards at a moment's notice if the man should rouse suddenly. He shook him gently. The individual just slumped forward. That was when he noticed the small sticky green residue that had dripped through the metal grate that served as a deck and into the power Relay assembly below him. ~He's dead!~ Nosh suddenly realized as he jumped backwards from the body as if it had attacked him. He slapped his commbadge hard enough to sting his chest. "Nosh to security. Come quickly I've found a body in the corridor of the Outer Docking Arm, Section 12." =^= Security here. I'll dispatch someone to check it out, please wait for them.=^= Nosh swallowed his dread and responded. "Understood. But please hurry. I can't stand dead things." =^=They're on their way now. Security out.=^= Nosh grabbed his tool kit and stepped at least six meters from the body, watching it intently in case he should have to run suddenly. (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- ASEC Dale Alcott- Day 3 -1022) A second murder in as many days was something that immediately caught the attention of the Assistant Security Chief. The last thing he needed was a full blown murder spree running through the station. Dale had grabbed a few security men and headed right away for the scene of the reported murder. When he got there, he found no body at all. Instead all he found was a Denobulan Engineer. He was frowning when he arrived and looked directly at the engineer. "I'm glad you're here." the individual stated, obviously happy to see them. "I thought you said there was a murder." Dale said. "There was ...I mean there is." The man replied. "Well then where is the body." The Denobulan pointed to the docking ring that was currently connected to a ship at the end of the arm. "Some Romulans and a large Orion took the body aboard that ship. "I tried to tell them that you were on your way and that they shouldn't move the body." he explained. Dale sighed. "Great. Just what I need." He complained and then turned to one of the other security officers with him. "Find out what ship is docked there, will ya?" The man nodded and Dale found himself unhappily tapping his commbadge. "Alcott to Lieutenant Soma of the Rosenante." (reply Soma) "Sorry to bother you lieutenant. But I have another situation I need you're help with. I have a report of a second murder and it looks as if the body has been removed from the station and taken aboard one of the docked ships, the..." He looked at his junior officer. "The Harveq " the officer supplied. "The Harveq" Alcott repeated before he realized which ship that was, "Sunova..." he added unexpectedly. (reply Soma) "Sorry sir. You'd better bring some people. This could be bad." He added., "Oh and an engineer or two and a doctor while you're at it." (reply Soma) "I'll explain when you get here." "That use of language is hardly necessary Mr. Alcott and doesn't reflect well on your position as a Stafleet Officer." Ben chided. =/\=Sorry sir. You'd better bring some people. This could be bad.=/\= He added., =/\=Oh and an engineer or two and a doctor while you're at it.=/\= Ben understood the need for a Doctor what why were engineers required for the retrieval of a body. "What's the situation down there?" Ben asked. =/\=I'll explain when you get here.=/\= Came the response. "On my way." Ben responded. "Soma out." As he headed towards the security offices exit he tapped his badge and said. "Soma to Sanok, get a security detail to the outer docking arm section twelve, we have another victim." (reply Sanok) After receiving confirmation from Sanok he opened another channel. "Soma to O'Neill and Doctor Ichijo, meet me in the outer docking arm section twelve." (reply O'Neill, Ichijo) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- ASEC Dale Alcott- Day 3 -1024*) Alcott didn't have to wait too long for the officers from the Rosenante to arrive. He knew that his own men were worried about the latest development, with the body of the Orion being taken aboard the Romulan ship belonging to T'Sek. To further complicate things, it was apparent to him that Soma and the Rosenante crew didn't quite understand why it was that he and his men were waiting outside, rather than boarding the small ship and demanding that the body be turned over to them. "Someone care to explain what is going on here?" Soma asked after he arrived. Alcott's men just mumbled and looked at their feet. They were afraid of T'Sek and with good reason. The last time that someone boarded his ship, their family coincidentally died, even though they were twenty light years away at the time. It had affected the men then and Alcott knew that the memory of that event, whether related or not, was still at the forefront of their minds. Alcott for his part was just as hesitant. Security personnel can be a bit more superstitious, and Dale had first hand information about how dangerous the Romulan on the other side of the bulkhead really was. Of course he couldn't really share any of that information with Soma, not without finding himself locked up in a penal facility for the rest of his life. "Sir I'd like to explain when your entire team is here." He said. Soma seemed to give his grudging acceptance and Dale waited patiently, mentally building himself up for the problem that he was expecting to materialize at any time. It was apparent that the Asian officer, a lovely piece of work, was the last of the Rosenante party to arrive. Soma explained to her the situation, before ending his statement directed at Dale. "We have yet to retrieve but Mr. Alcott was about to tell me how he allowed someone to remove the body from the scene without authorization." Ben said as he turned to face Alcott. "Well Mr. Alcott, out with it." He demanded. "Actually the body was removed prior to the arrival of the security team. Engineer Nosh was the one to discover the body." Mister Nosh please explain what happened." Dale said, directing the last comment towards the waiting Denobulan. "I was tracking down a power surge and subsequent short in the arm secondary system busses, when I came across an Orion laying there on the deck." he explained as he pointed at the spot where only a little bit of blood revealed the location where the body had been laying. "At first I thought he was drunk and had passed out. That's not all that uncommon in the outer docking arms at all." He added, " So I attempted to rouse him, and that's when I noticed that he was abnormally cold to the touch, and that there was blood. Although not as much as I would have thought. I contacted Base security and was told to wait here for their arrival." About a minute or so after I called, the airlock hatch opened and a Romulan and three large burly looking Orions came from that ship. They looked at the dead Orion for a moment, then picked him up and started to take him back to their ship. I started to protest , but they made it clear that I'd better not interfere." The Denobulan gave a very human shrug. "So I decided to wait. When Alcott arrived he called for you. That's really all there is to it." Dale nodded, but added, "Not entirely all there is to it. The ship on the other side of this lock is the Harveq. Its a freighter of Romulan registry. The ship's captain is T'Sek, a Romulan merchant. The problem is that T'Sek's grandfather is Vice-Chair Somek of the Romulan Tal'Shiar. That's why I thought it best to wait for you to arrive before trying to board that ship, sir. And as you can imagine if he took a body aboard, he has a distinct interest in not allowing us to see it." (reply All present) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outside dock for Harveq - ACEO Ensign Eian O'Neill - Day 3 - 1025*) Ben had called Eian and another engineer to report immediately to the Harveq, a docked Romulan ship. ~This can't be a coincidence with the murder...~ This morning, he had gotten a chance to read Dr. Ichijo's autopsy report and he couldn't stop thinking about the idea of the murder weapon disappearing. He had no idea how one could engineer a murder weapon to do that when they hadn't found evidence of a transporter signature. ~But there weren't *any* biologicals. How?~ He had spent quite a lot of time this morning working in Engineering to get the upgrades set to go. But he also had gotten to work for about a half hour on his holodeck experiment. So swimming around his head were thoughts of that, his engineering work, the murder, and the chance that he very nearly compromised ship security and that someone out there was trying to misuse his thumb print. He was at maximum operating capacity, because he was extremely occupied. He was noticing every little detail around him. The walls, the carpeting on the station, what kinds of plants were outside people's doors, what the frequency pattern was in a Type II Diagnostic test for targeting scanners...every little detail. And while this was normal for him, he was able to sort and process the data, which was one of the most relieving feelings that someone with ADHD could have. It made him naturally happy, excited, and ready to work. ~Well, God, you chose this time and this place for me to be here. I don't know if it'll come to anything, only You know that, but I'm just gonna say, let me use this time and this talent you've given me for Your work.~ He met a small team outside the Harveq's docking ring, and saw several people looking a bit grim. He waited for someone to give him the low-down. "Someone care to explain what is going on here?" He asked as he approached the group. No one seemed overly interested in entering the vessel to retreive the body of the latest victim and he wondered why, the ship was docked at the station and subject to it's authority while docked. It had to submit to inspection and security searches deemed appropriate by the station, so why had the body not been recovered. (reply Alcott, as above, any) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989, Outer Docking Arm Section 12, Ensign sg Sanok, 1028) After receiving the call from Ben that there had been another murder on the station, Sanok had hastily organized a small security team from the Rosenante, then rushed to the outer docking ring, arriving just after Ben. His friend was questioning the base security team that was there, but none of them seemed to want to be the one to tell what had happened. ~What is going on here on this base?~ Sanok thought. ~Just how corrupt are things here?~ He stood behind Ben and waited to hear the report. (reply any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989, Outer Docking Arm Section 12, CMO, Ens Kimiko Ichijo, Day 3 -1033) The Doctor walked towards the area designated as outer docking arm section 12 on the padd, she had almost gotten lost twice. ~How many section 12s does this place need anyway~ Kimiko thought She was a little confused as she approached the cluster of people, most of them were wearing the uniform of security, but there was no sign of injured or damage that could cause injured. ~Besides, I'm sure if someone was injured, they would have called the base personal~ The only thing that they would call her for was about the murder, but out here? Kimiko walked up to the group and spoke to Soma. "How can I help you?" (Reply Soma) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989, Outer Docking Arm Section 12, CTAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma -1034) "How can I help you?" Ben turned to see that Doctor Ichijo had arrived and was trying to determine why she had been summoned to this section of the base and why there were so many security officers present. "Doctor Ichijo." Ben began. "It appears we have another body for you to examine. It is currently aboard that vessel." Ben pointed to the observation port. "We have yet to retrieve but Mr. Alcott was about to tell me how he allowed someone to remove the body from the scene without authorization." Ben said as he turned to face Alcott. "Well Mr. Alcott, out with it." (reply Alcott. any present) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- CTAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma -1035) "Actually the body was removed prior to the arrival of the security team. And as you can imagine if he took a body aboard, he has a distinct interest in not allowing us to see it." Ben considered what he heard for several seconds. "What he does or doesn't want makes little difference, nor does it matter whom his family may be. This is an ongoing murder investigation and he will submit to proper procedures or face criminal charges under Federation law. He isn't in the Romulan Star Empire's space and must abide by our rules and regulations." Ben stated. "We need to examine the body to determine if it was killed in the same manner as Captain Taylor." "By removing the body they have contaminated both it and the scene which greatly hinders our efforts to collect evidence." Ben continued. "Whether they intended to or not they are interfering with our investigation and will be held accountable for their actions." Ben couldn't help but notice the reactions from the stations security personnel, it appeared as if they though he were out of his mind. But he had a job to do and he wasn't about to let anyone interfere with it, no matter who they were. She felt that the best approach may not kicking in doors. ~which is just what it looks like he is going to do now~ Kimiko though ~outta bubble gum, indeed. If he doesn't go all 'Dirk Gentry of the Space Lanes', I'll eat my tricorder~ "Lieutenant Soma" Kimiko stated "The damage is done, I think that due to the potential volatile nature of of our current situation, it might be a better idea to post guards and evaluate the situation. If we do have to go in, phasers blazing, then it would behoove us to insure that all our actions can withstand Starfleet, Federation, and Romulan scrutiny" (Reply Soma) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989 - Outer Docking Arm section 12- CTAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma-1038) Ben turned to face Doctor Ichijo as she stated her opinion, she was correct that barging in with pahsers blazing was not the way to go. That wasn't his intention though it may have seemed that way to some of them, he merely stated his dislike of the situation. "Doctor," He began. "barging in with phasers blazing is not what I was intending to do. The situation may be volitile but we are far from that course of action, we will request that Captain T'Sek release the body to us for examination. We have to determine if this individual was killed in the same manner as Captain Taylor, and then we can determine if this was done by the same person or an unrelated event." Turning to Alcott he added. "Place guards at both ends of the section, no unauthorized personel are to be allowed to enter until we have cleared the scene. Let's hope Captain T'Sek doesn't object to being temporaily confimed to his ship." Turning back to the rest of the Rosenate's security forces he said. "Begin scanning the area for anything you can find, no doubt there will be traces of the Orions who took the body. We'll have to do what we can to sort it out later." Then he turned to Sanok and said. "Care to try your hand at diplomacy, Captain T'Sek may be more likely to speak with you based on your common ancestry." Ben knew it was a long shot but in his experience Romulan's didn't trust Human's and vice versa. Sanok was Vulcann, though Captain T'Sek was Romulan he may respond more civilay to someone who shared genetic traits with him. If that didn't he had one last card up his sleave to use as a last resort, Captain Salid may have some luck dealing with the Romulan Captain. (reply any present) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Starbase 989, Outer Docking Arm Section 12, Ensign sg Sanok, 1040) Ben said, "Care to try your hand at diplomacy? Captain T'Sek may be more likely to speak with you based on your common ancestry." "Indeed," said Sanok with a raised eyebrow. He tapped his comm badge and connected to the base communications network. "This is Ensign Sanok from the Rosenante. Please open a channel to the freighter, Harveq." "One moment, Ensign." There was a pause. "Channel open." "Ensign Sanok from the Rosenante, to the freighter, Harveq. Please respond." Sanok wondered if T'Sek would talk to him. There was certainly a specific reason he and his crew took the dead body into their ship, but what was it? It couldn't have been to hide the murder, since someone from the base already reported it. He would just need to wait and see.
