She supposedly works where they have taken the new starship and it's crew. Considering the information, I thought it important to bring her along, despite the risk." Mike replied Ichijo added, "Obviously, I am more concerned about the illness aspect, though its good to have you aboard. Was this a native pathogen?" "Doctor, obviously I want you to contain the possibility of a species transversing pathogen, however, at this time our priority is finding all the pieces of our lost vessel, and either destroy it or recover it. Our next priority is finding the crew of that vessel and at the very least determine their fate and if possible, rescue them. I want you to work on that if you have any free time, but priority must go to the mission." T'Larah interjected, effectively cutting off the line of questioning. (reply Ichijo) Mike then asked to have his lip treated and while doctor Ichijo assisted him, Remey and Ios spoke. "Welcome to our group Ios, we're happy to have your help in this endeavor. I am the scientific specialist working on our little 'project'." Do you have any knowledge of how your people may be utilizing the technology they found in the wreck of the Bohrs? It would actually be very helpful for me to know this since what has been copied may be subverted." Ios' face took on a slightly confused expression for a moment before she replied. The name of the ship that crashed was not name Bohrs. It's name was Medea. The Bohrs is the new ship. It did not crash but was captured." She explained. She shrugged then before continuing, "I know that the replication technology came from the crashed starship. And the Phased pistols, the Antigravity shuttles, the citywide defense shields, the Warp Generators and drives that run the Unions starships. And then there is the Computers that have revolutionized our economy and sciences and the Medical advances alone are amazing." There was so many things that the technology had affected, so many things for the good as well as the bad. "Oh and the antimatter generators that supply our cities with power." she added as an afterthought. (reply Remey iyw) "Ios, if you work on this project isn't it classified? What is the possibility that they may have knowledge of your whereabouts at all times. That is what I would do and it's logical to presume that your government would use similar OPSEC procedures." T'Larah asked. Ios shook her head. "I think your friend misunderstood. I don't work on the alien technology at all. I work at the Seliya Facility, where the Alien ships are stored. I'm a Mol. I don't have access to the Top security Areas. I'm only a data clerk in the Tertiary Archives." She replied. Her cheeks colored a little bit at the embarrassment of the moment. "My mother is a Gab." She explained. "She worked on the genetics and physiology of the Aliens that were recovered from the crash as well as those that were captured afterwards. It wasn't until she got sick and was released from her duties that she was free to marry. She married my father, he was a Mol. Needless to say she had her clearance revoked." A moment of defiance crossed her face as she added, "He was a good man. I take after him." She pinched the skin of her forearm between two of her fingers to bring the point home. (reply Sullivan, any) "Hello Ios, I am Tom Jackson, the teams computer expert. Nice to meet you" Another male said introduction as he smiled at her. "Hello Tom Jackson." Ios replied, "You must be very smart." (reply Jackson) "Commander, I have a question regarding the computer systems here" Jackson asked after the introductions were finished. (reply: Sullivan) "I take it we are to get a copy of the databases. Also, to see how the logs of the computer systems of our monitoring vessels were overwhelmed correct?" Tom asked. (reply Sullivan) Ios listened as the aliens continued to talk. (reply Sullivan, Ichijo, Jackson, Remey, any other away team member) Daniel Greene Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid CO, USS Rosenante www.startrekfreedom.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Third District Hotel Voltul - AFO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan 1157) T'Larah heard the comotion outside, and held up her hand to quiet those in the lavatory. "Excuse me." she said, and went to see what was the matter. She saw the commotion was caused by two young Irlixian females apparently fighting over one of the males. ~Local mating rights?~ T'Larah mused. Then she saw the very obvious civil authorities. Two Irlixian males wearing business attire, but their mannerisms and demeanor suggested they were not just a purely intellectual vocation. They also seemed to be paying a little more attention to their apparel then the average male in this establishment. Them talking into their jacket sleeves was the icing on the cake. She then noticed Lopez notice the two gentlemen and with the emotion she caught falling off of him, it was certain. ~Why didn't he notify me? Hell, someone. I will speak with him, if we all get away.~ T'Larah paused for a moment. ~What's bringing them here?.... The beacon!~ She came up and gave Raschen a hug, she held on to him in an attempt speak with him uninterrupted and so no one could hear she whispered, "You look like a businessman. Attempt to ascertain why they are here, delay them. I will send Mike to find another meeting place with our friend. Then I will return in an attempt to aid you. If we have to we will incapacitate them." (Reply Raschen, any out side the "meeting" room) T'Larah's cheeks flushed as she wasn't expecting that. However she trusted that he did it to play in character better. She re-entered the lavatory. She pointed to Rosenbaur so as not to use his name in-front of the native Irlixian. "Get these people out of here. Our security chief and I will take care of those remaining outside. Have our friend leave with you, find something like an abandoned warehouse, get a coded signal out in short bursts, thirty minute intervals. After sending out ten if you get no response, assume we are captured and continue with the mission. Worst case scenario you can mount a second rescue operation for us, but I don't plan on being captured." (reply Rosenbaur, any inside the "meeting" room) ~Now to see how Raschen is dealing with the police.~ She exited the restroom, and attempted to help Charlie with the predicament he had gotten into. (Reply any away team) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District-Hotel Voltul, Senior Detective- Vilox Nigo, Day 7- 1158) Nigo was impatient. He was always inpatient just before a big raid. He felt as if every single moment was going to slip past, and that something would go terribly wrong and allow his quarry to escape. Finally after several minutes, more than he liked, Gasner turned to him and reported, " We're finally all in place. The sniper teams are in position to watch the buildings entries and exits, and the insertion team is at the back boor of the building ready to force and enter." Vilox understood the unspoken words that his partner had implied. The uniformed officers were holding the perimeter and the second insertion team was in place nearby, ready to enter the building through the front doors. "Then let's not waste too much time, shall we?" He asked his partner as he reached up and straightened his hat. He reached down into the pocket of his jacket and withdrew his phased pistol. He adjusted the setting to a heavy stun setting and then returned it to the pocket. He left his hand inside, ready to use it should the need arise. He noted with a detached interest that Gasner did the same. "You ready Gaz?" He asked. "Yes. Do you think that they'll give up without a fight?" the veteran detective asked. "I certainly hope not. I'd prefer to take them in by force." Vilox replied, his smile showing just a little bit of his nervousness. "Come on. Let's get it over with already." Gasner walked slightly ahead of the senior detective, far enough in fact to reach the door before his partner and tug it open with a practiced ease to allow the more senior man access to the lobby first. The man from the bistro down the street was sitting at a table. He was not alone. Couple of other men were with him. Vilox used his tongue switch to mark them as potential hostiles for the insertion team. About the time that they settled into the middle of the room, a fight broke out between a pair of mol women much to the dismay of their Mol loving Gab man. The entire thought of it made Vilox nearly physically sick to his stomach. If he had his way he'd shoot the sick Mol lover where he stood. But there were bigger fromets to fry here and the least interesting thing about this building was the fight between the inferior whores that worked here. The two paused, the Senior detectives orange and yellow eyes taking in every disgusting detail of this licentious den of putrefaction, while his partner watched for a more immediate threat. First there were the men at the table, nothing solid, but they just didn't 'feel' right. Like they were out of place. Then there was the single male coming from the public restroom. He had a stance about him that told Vilox that he was a trained person. Maybe military or police force of some sort. He was taking in the scenery, doing the exact same thing that Vilox was doing; observing. It was a rare skill, and not one that came easy to most people. The majority of people would see and hear, but they rarely actually observed. It took a great deal of discipline to master the art of observing, a discipline that Vilox had mastered a very long time ago. In all his years he had not seen that many people that were as proficient at observation. The man at the end of the corridor was. He had to be one of the spies. Vilox tapped Gasner on the elbow, a move, which in hindsight, he had later decided had been a mistake. Gaz turned to look at the object of Vilox's interest and that's when it became apparent that there was going to be a fight. Gaz pulled his phase pistol, even as Vilox was doing the same while simultaneously using his jaw microphone to send the insertion teams into action. "Move now, we've been compromised." He said quietly and was rewarded by the buzz of commands being sent through his earpiece as the team leaders went into motion. A bang, loud enough to ring his ears went off as the rear entry insertion team breached and entered the premises from the rear, even as the front entry team used their phased rifles to shatter the front glass and leap through the openings to land in the lobby a scant few moments later. Screams sounded as the Mols and their Gab lovers realized that there was a raid underway. "Special police!" Vilox shouted as the action started, certain to give the aliens their only chance to surrender peacefully. (reply all on away team at Hotel) Daniel Greene Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid CO, USS Rosenante www.startrekfreedom.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District, Hotel Voltul, Ensign sg Sanok, 1200) Sanok continued watching the two Irlixian security men as they were momentarily distracted by the fight between the two Mol women. Taking advantage of that moment, he tapped the comm badge he was wearing that was disguised as an Irlixian wristwatch, opening a channel to all the away team members simultaneously. Bringing the watch to his mouth, he spoke in a quiet, rapid voice. As each team member had an ear piece, only the team members would hear his message. "This is Sanok. We have been discovered by security." The Irlixian security officer that was the obvious leader, had made Sanok. The man tapped the elbow of his partner and the partner looked directly at Sanok, removing any doubt there may have been that he had been discovered. Sanok slowly moved his hand into his pocket, wrapping it around the phaser that was disguised as an Irlixian flashlight. The shooting was going to start at any moment. Sanok saw the Irlixian leader's mouth move; he must have had a microphone placed in his mouth area, and a loud bang from the rear of the hotel followed almost instantly. A second after that, another team came crashing through the front window. The Irlixians were making a move, a move that looked to be extremely well-coordinated, though Sanok couldn't help thinking that smashing through the main window was a bit much. The Irlixian patrons in the lobby reacted as expected. There were screams and yells of surprise. People began running in all directions, looking for a way out. Others stood dejectedly. Several of the Gab men appeared to be extremely angry, possibly thinking they were being raided. One in particular seemed more put out than the rest. "Special police!" shouted the security leader. Thoughts raced quickly through Sanok's mind. If he did nothing, he and the team would be taken into custody. He could surrender, but it was illogical to assume that the police would believe he was the only one; they were sure to conduct a search. Attempting to escape would also likely fail, as an operation organized so well, was sure to have all the exits covered by backup forces. A firefight could get them out, but some of the team would certainly be killed or wounded. Also, a fight with phasers would alert the government that the team was not from this world. For all Sanok knew, it was possible the police only thought they were spies from one of the other continents. The only sure way to escape, was to call the Rosenante for a full beam out of the entire team. Though clearly outnumbered, Sanok stood his ground and waited for someone to make the next move. Someone did, but it came from an unexpected source. "Excuse me, Officer, but what is the meaning of this?" It was the Gab man that was the most angry over the raid. The police leader seemed to not know what to say. "Do you know who I am, Officer?" said the Gab. "I have very powerful friends in high places, and you'd better have a very good explanation for why you're raiding this establishment." The tension in the room was so thick, it felt like it was something alive that was wrapping itself around Sanok's body. What was going to happen next? (reply any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Khoda City, Irlix – Third District Hotel Voltul– CTAC/SEC- LT Chance Raschen – 1201) Sullivan went up and gave Raschen a hug; she held on to him and whispered in his ear, "You look like a businessman. Attempt to ascertain why they are here, delay them. I will send Mike to find another meeting place with our friend. Then I will return in an attempt to aid you. If we have to we will incapacitate them." Chance slightly kissed T’Larah on the nap of the neck as she spoke. When she finished, he pulled away, looked at her and said “Just remember this when the skipper has me on the carpet.” Then gave her a deep passionate kiss, full on the lips; T'Larah's cheeks flushed as Chance walked towards the ‘latest obsticles’. It was a rare skill, and not one that came easy to most people. The majority of people would see and hear, but they rarely actually observed. It took a great deal of discipline to master the art of observing, a discipline that Chance had learned a long time ago as an apprentice Bounty Hunter and later mastered as a Privateer. One of the agents tapped the other one on the elbow, a move that was hopefully not his smartest. It became apparent to Raschen that there would be a fight when both agents looked at him. The second agent had his phase pistol pulled, even when the first one was doing the same while simultaneously using his jaw microphone. Chance walked toward the two agents, specifically the lead agent between the two. "Special police!" the lead agent shouted as the action started, as if to give the away team an opportunity to surrender peacefully. Ever the unorthodox pain in the butt; Raschen used the fingers of one hand and poked the second agent in the eyes while he punched the first, breaking his nose. He then grabbed the two by their ‘horns’ and slamming their heads together. As the scuffle continued, Raschen noticed T’Larah heading in his direction as if in an attempt to help him with the predicament he had gotten himself into. The ex-privateer tried to wave her past knowing that Sanok and Rosenbauer could more than cover for his absence; but the team would need its leader regardless. (Reply Sullivan) Somehow, everything for Raschen went from bad to worse. (Reply Sullivan) Posted by Charlie --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Khoda City- Third District Hotel Voltul - ACMO Ensign Sam Lopez-Day 7- 1204) The hotel had turned from good to bad in a matter of minutes.Sam had knew something would happen the second those two security men walked in.Then all in one the place turned to utter chaos with everyone screaming and running around. This was something known to happen when ever someone came crashing in. This was worsen when the someone was found out to be the police or worse the special police. This was the one place now Sam did not want to be at. The thing that was the most odd was that some men were not even moving at all. Then this one man came up and went straight up to lead detective. This was going to turn up as a very interesting conversation. (Reply by away team) (Posted by Shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Khoda City- Third District Hotel Voltul - ACMO Ensign Sam Lopez-Day 7- 1207) The hotel was now being over run by the police. The away team had already started back into action going for the lead detectives.Sam at the thought of the raid took cover behind the lobby desk . Sam watched as the first officer was taking out the detective. Then started using him as a human shield with very good effectiveness. The doctor in Sam could not bear to see a living being used that way. Sam had to remember he was also a starfleet officer and to remember that life is not fair.So Sam got out his phaser and started firing at the hostile group. This was not going to hold them off forever they had to escape. (Reply by away team) (Posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District, Hotel Voltul, Ensign sg Sanok, 1208) "Do you know who I am, Officer?" said the Gab. "I have very powerful friends in high places, and you'd better have a very good explanation for why you're raiding this establishment." Sanok waited for the special police agent leader to say something to the Gab hotel patron that had confronted the police about their raid on the hotel. If the man truly had powerful friends, and if the police would back down, this was the way out for the Rosenante team. All that needed to be done, was to wait. Out of the corner of his eye, Sanok saw someone moving directly towards the two police agents that had first entered the hotel, the ones that called for the strike teams. Recognizing Lieutenant Raschen, Sanok watched with fascination, as Raschen stopped in front of the two officers, poked one in the eyes, punched the other in the face, and grabbing their horns, slammed their faces together. In the lobby, time seemed to stand still. It was as if everyone was trapped in a time dilation bubble. Everyone, the soldiers, the Gab, the Mols, and Sanok himself, stared in absolute disbelief over what they had just seen Raschen do. So much for the rich Gab man with powerful friends getting the away team out of the hotel without having to confront the police raiding team. Without warning, as the Humans liked to say, all hell broke loose. Phaser fire could be heard coming from the hallway leading to the rest rooms. Strike team soldiers began moving to surround Sanok and Raschen. Since there was no hope of getting out of this any other way than a firefight, Sanok brought out his flashlight-phaser and fired a sweeping, continuous beam, stunning two of the police moving towards him. The others dived for cover. =^=There is an exit behind me. Fall back and start bounding back.=^= It was Commander Sullivan over the comm badges. Working his way back towards the rest rooms; he had lost sight of Lieutenant Raschen in the confusion and smoke that was beginning to fill the air from phaser strikes against wood, cloth, curtains, and anything else combustible. Hopefully, he had already made it back to the rest of the team. "Sanok, cover our six. The rest of you, move!" said Sullivan. "Aye, Commander," said Sanok. Dropping to one knee, with most of his body covered by the corner at the beginning of the hallway, he began firing at anything that moved, soldier or civilian. In the chaos, smoke, and mayhem, and with their leaders injured, the strike teams seemed content to back off and stay under cover of their own. With the retreat of the away team covered, and with no one shooting at him anymore, Sanok remained low and moved quickly down the hallway and towards the back exit. Stopping to carefully look around, he saw that it was clear. He also saw the broken body of an Irlix soldier, crushed on the pavement, obviously from a fall. Pausing a moment to look at the dead man and the unfortunate waste of a life, he moved up the alley, seeking the rest of the away team. (reply any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Khoda City- Third District Hotel Voltul - ACMO Ensign Sam Lopez-Day 7- 1210) The desk was being destroyed and the cover would be gone soon. Then the team was then ordered to leave by using the rear exit.Sam went from his cover to the exit and so did the rest of the team. Sam watched as the door was open and a big siren sounded. As the away team went through the door they were shot at by a sniper.Who got the first officer in the arm and in return was shot down by the first officer. Sam got his tricorder and scanned the wound while she was being picked up.The wound had to be treated right away, but first they had to escape. The entire away team then headed for the end of the alley. (Reply by Away team) (posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Third District-Hotel Voltul - AFO - T'Larah Sullivan - 1212) After hearing "Special Police!" she knew that Charlie's talk either didn't happen or didn't go well, in any case, she was forewarned. She cautiously exited the lavatory. "Excuse me, Officer, but what is the meaning of this?" It was the Gab man that was the most angry over the raid. The police leader seemed to not know what to say. "Do you know who I am, Officer?" said the Gab. "I have very powerful friends in high places, and you'd better have a very good explanation for why you're raiding this establishment." The agents began circling around Raschen and Sanok. She stepped out and caught the team stacking on the lavatory doorway preparing to enter, completely un-aware. She took the opportunity to act before they did. T'Larah snatched the rifle out of the lead Irlixian's hands and smashed the butt of the rifle across his temple stunning him. She held on to the pistol grip of the rifle with her right hand and spun the stunned agent around with her left so his back was facing her. She wrapped her left arm around him and held him as a human shield as she fired three shots from the Irlixian phaser taking out the rest of the stacked team. ~Hope this thing is on stun. Time to distract them so Raschen and Sanok can get some breathing room.~ The rest of the strike team now had the time to react. T'Larah's 'shield' was stuck center mass with five phaser shots. ~I seem to have their attention.~ She released the Irlixian shield as his muscle tone gave way. She had no desire to be burdened with his two hundred pound plus frame. She leaped straight up between a close set pair of plumbing pipes near the ceiling. She braced the rifle on the pipes and swung her legs up, with a twist she was now on the left pipe facing the largest half of the force. (Reply Raschen, Sanok, any away team in lobby) Thankfully Raschen and Sanok showed the strike agents that T'Larah wasn't the only target. Sullivan wasn't taking any chances she didn't have to, so she kept moving, trying not to move in any sort of rhythmic fashion, taking snap shots to keep the agents heads down. (Reply Raschen, Sanok, any away team present,Vilox Nigo) She keyed her broach communicator. "There is an exit behind me, fall back and start bounding back..." a shot from the right corner almost stuck her in the face, missing by only a few millimeters. The assailant was taken out by one of the security people on the bottom. (Reply Raschen or Sanok) "I don't know how many of them there are, but I know what percentage they will use, we need to get out of here." She finished, firing back at another group of agents. This gave the rest of the party the distraction they needed to get to the hall way leading to the nearest exit. (Reply Away team) As they provided cover fire T'Larah jumped down from her perch and rolled to cover, narrowly avoiding a stray phaser shot. "Sanok cover our six, the rest of you move!" she said (Reply Sanok) T'Larah pushed her way through up to Raschen, "This looks like an emergency exit, as soon as we leave, they are going to know. Move through quickly, there may be snipers." (Reply Raschen) As the group pushed through the door swung open wide. On cue the blazing klaxon sounded. On a neighboring roof a sniper took aim at the group and pulled the trigger. The shot didn't hit it's mark, but it hit close enough. The columned beam caught T'Larah in the shoulder burning it's way straight through. The intense searing pain almost caused her to loose consciousness. She pushed through it, raised her rifle and fired. The designated marksman lost all muscle tone and went slack. His forward lean that had enabled him to fire and T'Larah and be struck by her phaser beam, became his downfall, as he plummeted six stories and landed head first. His skull cracked against the pavement. ~These bastards are going for the kill.~ (Reply Any) Someone bent over to pick T'Larah up, she was no longer coherent enough to recognize who it was. "Get us out of here....make us safe." was her last order before the darkness claimed her, and she passed out. (Reply Raschen, Sanok, any away team present,Vilox Nigo) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Third District-Hotel Voltul - ACEO Lt. Steven Matrix - 1213) Matrix had remained seated while the drama unfolded. So far security and the rest of the away team had ignored his presents. Perhaps the security forces were eyeing a bigger prize? Indeed they concentrated their efforts on the other members. Matrix thought this might be an advantage. As the security forces moved in around Raschen and Sanok, Matrix took the opportunity to stand up and move slightly to his left a few meters to get a better angle on the security forces. At that moment he noticed T'Larah moving as well...he wasn't aware until that time that she was in the building. One of the security people yelled out, "special police" and Matrix knew it was now or never. As he continued to move he couldn't hear what T'Larah and the security person were talking about. It didn't matter, the engagement was set into motion. As Matrix continued to move to his left T'Larah had immobilized one of them and was moving into a defensive position. Her aim was dead on and all of the visible security forces were neutralized. More security forces appears and Matrix took up a support position along side T'Larah and began firing at the security teams now pouring into the lobby area. One, three, then a half dozen security people dropped about 10 meters away. Matrix had good aim, but they kept coming. Matrix fired again and missed. Two security personnel had managed to move away from the entrance and behind one of the counters near the entrance. T'Larah moved as the security forces fired, none hit her. He kept shooting back, giving her time to move more freely. A painful flash penetrated his left shoulder. He had been hit by a phaser blast. Matrix nearly passed out from the pain and the energy release into his nervous system. Matrix looked at his shoulder and noticed a hole in the clothing about the size of his fist. It was smoldering, but didn't seem to be bleeding. As he propped himself up and back along the wall he glanced down the small hallway. One of the security agents was walking toward him with his weapon pointed toward the floor. Apparently he didn't view Matrix as a threat. Time slowed, but Matrix could hear people screaming. Agents were yelling at one another to take cover, but this agent continued to walk toward him. With each step the security agent slowly raised his weapon. ~This guy is going to kill me.~ thought Matrix Without looking down, Matrix pressed the energy selector to its highest level. The agent was now about 5 meters away with Matrix still crouched on the floor with his back against the wall. Matrix didn't have time to aim so he simply pivoted his weapon hand and fired. The phaser blast struck the agent's left leg, just above the knee. A large flash of light enveloped the man then nothing. The man was simply gone. Matrix swallowed hard at what he had just done. The rest of the away team was now moving toward him and the rear exit. Matrix stood up as the rest of the away team rushed toward him and together they all moved out the rear entrance. Things were about to get very interesting. Chance pointed at Jackson and Rosenbauer and said “I want you two to take Ios with you and find someplace safe where we can hole up for the night at least. Perhaps a clean hotel that’s close to the nearest Police Station.” (Reply Jackson, Rosenbauer, Ios iyw, anyone else iyw (room for more)) “Oh yeah” Chance said as he started reaching into his jacket pockets and pulled out two wallets belonging to the two detectives. The ex-privateer handed a wallet to each, Tom and Mike, and said “I stole these during the fight, use what you can out of them. And when you comeback, bring a large taxi cab. Something we can all fit in.” (Reply Jackson, Rosenbauer, Ios iyw (room for more)) After Tom, Mike, and Ios started off, Raschen turned to Sanok “We need to come up with some kind of cover and a lookout system. What do you suggest?” (Reply Sanok) (Reply Sanok, Ichijo, Lopez, Jackson, Rosenbauer, Ios iyw, any iyw) Posted by Charlie --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Khoda City, Irlix – Third District Hotel Voltul– ACSO Louis Remey– 1216) Things turned sour in a hurry from the time the policeman had called them out, Commander Sullivan sprang into action first which drew the attention of the Irlixians as the rest of the team moved into position to return fire. Louis himself was no marksman nor was he more than passable at hand-to-hand but when they were this close and rushing who could miss? He fired point blank into the stomach of the first guy then sprang back away and to the side to avoid a phased energy bolt fired by one of the bad guys fellows, the beam barely grazed his hairline which gave him a powerful jolt. He gasped aloud and sucked in air as he slammed back into the wall of the hallway he had ducked into. His head was spinning like a calliope out of control and there was a roaring in his ears. He could barely hear the fire of energy weapons and shouts over it. He opened his eyes as he leaned drunkenly against the wall and could see nothing more than a beige blur, he counted himself lucky he could see at all. He had dropped the phaser from nerveless fingers and couldn't focus right now to look for it. He blinked his eyes a couple of times and shook his head, whether it had helped or the timing was just perfect he didn't know but his vision was starting to clear and the wailing in his ears was subsiding. Good thing too because he heard. =^=There is an exit behind me, fall back and start bounding back...=^= Where was she? Where the firing was going on obviously, he spotted his phaser lying on the floor and retrieved it then stuck his head into the large grand hall. His eyesight was returning quickly and he picked out several Irlixian security police firing from cover at the rest of the group but the site for the fight appeared to have shifted, he would have to move fast or get left behind. One shot took out an Irlixian who hadn't seen him or expected an attack from that angle but it alerted his comrades who poured fire back at him as he ran with all his speed across the lobby, weaving behind every available cover as he did so. He took out an Irlixian just as Raschen got the other and joined up with the others just in time. It stood to reason that there would be many more awaiting them outside. The pursuing group had arrived and were amping up the pressure. “Sanok cover our six, the rest of you move!” Louis didn't need an engraved invitation, he fell in with the rest of the group as they retreated. Irlixians were coming out of the woodwork, Louis ducked a blow and came back with a short right into the man's breadbasket, he gave a whoosh of expelled air and staggered back. Then they were through the door and outside, Louis saw Sullivan go down and be picked up by Raschen, turning he tried to give them covering fire but there was too da** many, he got a couple but lost his aim as he got nicked on the side. Then they were around a corner and free for the moment. “Alright folks, we need to stop for now.” Louis forced himself to relax as he scanned the area. The back of several shops was to their right and the alley narrowed farther on. “I need a break. Is anyone besides Sullivan, Matrix. and me injured?” Louis had a stitch in his side but it wasn't too bad, he kept his mouth shut on that score. Lieutenant Raschen was taking charge of the operation, he dispatched Jackson and Rosenbaur to look for lodging. Then he started talking to Sanok, Loius figured he wasn't needed so he walked to a corner and peeked around it, acting as an impromptu lookout. (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District-Hotel Voltul, Senior Detective- Vilox Nigo, Day 7- 1218) To say that things went strange would have been the understatement of the century. In retrospect Vilox should have expected it to be as much trouble as it had become, if for no other reason than the fact that the location was as vile as they got these days. The first sign of trouble was well, the proprietor. Nivo Segax was a tall muscular Irlixian with a little too much pudge around the middle to make you think he was a body builder. He had once been a small time street thug who had managed to get lucky enough to land a few lucrative jobs during the war. That had allowed him to settle down and to pudge up around the middle. As Vilox pulled his badge out where it could be easily seen as he announced himself with the familiar mantra of "Special Police!" he noted Nivo allow himself to scowl before he crossed the room. "Excuse me, Officer, but what is the meaning of this?" he demanded. "Not now Segax. I have business to attend to." The senior detective replied. "Do you know who I am, Officer?" said the Gab. "I have very powerful friends in high places, and you'd better have a very good explanation for why you're raiding this establishment." Vilox turned to look at the man, now suddenly a very big threat. The concussive vibrations of breaking glass and sonic grenades were sounding as the teams were breaching the building. I said not no-" Vilox never managed to finish his statement as a sudden movement to his left caused him to twist right into a virtual field of grasping fingers. They jabbed into his eyes violently, although his secondary lids managed to close in time to prevent any serious damage. They stung and water welled up from the ducts as he jerked his head backwards. Apparently there were other spies here, besides the ones he had seen. He heard a sharp thud as Gaz was struck, and then there was a sudden thump and a distinct ringing in his own ears as someone grabbed him by his horns and slammed him into another person, probably Gaz. He staggered, caught off-guard by the unexpected speed and ferocity of the attack. His knees wobbled and they almost gave way as he shook his head to clear it of the cobwebs that had descended around his brain. He blinked his eyes rapidly and looked up just in time to see a maelstrom of phased weapons fire. The spies had phased weapons also, and this very fact shocked Vilox more than anything he had experienced before. He dropped prone quickly calling out orders to the officers that were shifting positions in the room. The complete unexpectedness of the situation had the police and the spies they were trying to apprehend returning fire through a sea of civilians. Some were lucky enough to get clear, but a few were lying on the ground writhing in pain. In the time that it had taken him to recover his senses, the spies had somehow managed to hold his officers to a standstill, eliminate the rear breach team and escape, despite the snipers. Vilox stood, the anger apparent in his bearing. He turned to look around the room. Nivo was standing nearby nursing an injured arm. "I'll have your job for this!" Nivo threatened as Vilox made eye contact. The senior detective smiled a feral smile, took a few steps toward the man and then reached down and snapped off the heavy wooden leg from an over turned table. He stalked toward the injured Segax, who just realized his intent. The larger man tried to rise, but Vilox's first blow struck him in the left knee shattering bone with ease. The larger man collapsed a shriek of pain emanating from his mouth as he collapsed. He started trying to crawl away. "Because of you, spies against the state have now escaped custody." The detective stated with a sharp edge to his voice. "I don't tolerate collaborators." "Please don't..." Nivo pleaded, as Vilox brought the heavy club down on his back. The absolute fury took him then, His arms became wild pistons, slamming with brutal force downward with the heavy wooden club rending flesh snapping bone and shattering skull. Half a dozen then a dozen blows rained down, the complete frustration and anger unleashing itself even upon the still body of the once prominent Irlixian thug that lay a mutilated corpse at his feet. He turned then and regarded the short line of prisoners. "They are collaborating with the enemies of the State. They have rendered them aid. Execute them all." He ordered as he dropped the club. The police did as they were told, lest they find themselves on the receiving end of a wooden club. Weapons were discharged and the bodies of the Mol females and their Gab lovers piled up against the walls. "Gaz!" he shouted. "I'm here." His partner replied as he walked across the room rubbing the side of his head. Already a terrible bruise was forming there. "Where are they?" Vilox asked. "They made good their escape. I've put every police and military unit on alert. They won't be able to avoid us for long." his partner responded. "They'd better not." Vilox said with a snarl. "I want them found. I want to know who they work for and I want their technology ripped apart." The senior detective snarled and then paused for a moment. "Burn this place down, give it at least 10 minutes before you call the firemen. It's time it came down." Gaz nodded as Vilox walked out through the shattered front doors of the Hotel. The first officer had the worst of the injuries with a phaser hit.She had to be sent to a sickbay on ship to fix the wounds because Sam did not have the needed medical equipment to do it here.Sam and his med kit could only do so much at this point. Sam thought it through weather or not to suggest that course of action.Sam knew that if the commander did not get the surgery in the next day or so she would die of too much lost blood. This was needed surgery because of her rare blood type and her wounded arteries in her arm could not transport blood evenly. They needed to act right away. "Lieutenant i have checked my tricorder readings and double checked. That the commanders wounds are critical and are in need of surgery right now.We need to get her back to the ship now, sir."Sam said.
