An arrow pointed directly ahead. She gave Remey a meaningful look and headed in that direction. A moment later she felt a hand on her shoulder. “meep” Kimiko jumped and turned around. Behind her was standing the FO ~wow, way to go Miko, a natural in the spy world. I would last about 5 minutes on Cardassia Prime~ Examining the expression on Commander Sullivan’s face, Kimiko thought ~3 minutes, tops~ "I'm sorry it's only me. Have you received the signal yet?" The commander asked now walking beside her. “Just now, I imagine you received it as well” The Ensign replied "Indeed, that is why I was walking in this direction." she said. Just then an Irlixian male in a tailored suit of a garish design approached the two females walking down the street. "Ladies, ladies." he began with a broad smile on his face. "Such fine regal specimens out alone walking by yourselves. How would you two like to make some money?" "What do we need money for?" T'Larah asked. "Everyone needs money. And I'll take care of you." he said with all sincerity in his words. He slipped in between the two putting one arm around each. "You won't have to worry about a thing, just making money for your big daddy." Kimiko was surprised to be manhandled in such a fashion and was not sure how another Irlixian female would handle a masher such as him. She decided honesty was the best way. The doctor slipped out from under his arm and after shooting Remey a quelling look she stated. “I am already employed and you are most certainly not my father” Kimiko noticed the look of disgust on T'Larah’s face. "You had best back away if you know what's good for you. We aren't that kind of women." Sullivan replied with a veiled threat. "Drek no, Big Daddy isn't like that either, you won't be pulling tricks here, no, no. I'll bring you uptown. You'll make the big bucks sipping wine and spirits with politicians and big business men." He tried to touch Ichijo inappropriately. The doctor was speechless T'Larah slammed her left fist up above her shoulder straight back, and broke his nose in the process. 'Big Daddy' staggered back clutching his face dark ichor streaming down his face. "Drek, fraggin', drek, lady!" he cursed. The curse didn't translate well in the universal translator. "What did you do that for?" he spat. "Because no, means no. You obviously don't know the meaning, So I explained it to you in words you understand. I'm new to this city, and so is my friend. If I see you pedaling your wares, ever. You will get more of the same. I will not have you taking advantage of helpless women and little girls ever again, do you understand me?" she said in all seriousness. Kimiko blinked at the FO, that was unexpected. The Irlixian looked up the blood dripped from his nose still, dark stains marred his garish lapel, even as tears streamed down his face mingling with the blood. "Yeah, yeah. You didn't have to hit me though." he said as he got up. T'Larah waited until he had turned away and walked out of sight before she motioned for Ichijo to continue toward the rally point with her. “That was certainly an interesting first contact” Kimiko giggled “quite literally.” The doctor cocked her head “there was one thing disappointing though” (Reply Sullivan) “He didn’t put up a fight so you could have smacked him again” The Ensign shrugged ad headed towards the rally point. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - AFO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 1100) “That was certainly an interesting first contact” Kimiko giggled “quite literally.” The doctor cocked her head “there was one thing disappointing though” It was intriguing to hear the doctor giggle. It had been years since T'Larah had heard anyone giggle. She looked at Ichijo curiously. "Which is?" she inquired, as the pair began walking forward. “He didn’t put up a fight so you could have smacked him again” The Ensign shrugged. "Something tells me he's not going to give up his vocational choice either. There is the off chance that we will run into him again, then I will have to go through with my threat. I hope for his sake that he finds a new job." she responded. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Business Section Unknown, Lt. Steve Matrix, 1110) Nervous of the teams he spotted, Matrix decided to stay among the people in the area. If these were security personnel they probably didn't want to make a scene. Perhaps Matrix could convince them he was an Irixian. He estimated nearly 60 people in the area, mingling around the shops and business sections so he made is way toward a group of people next to a restaurant. If things got interesting he hoped he could duck inside, then out some service alley and away. The first of the three groups of men he thought were watching him seemed to be nothing more than a group of business men. They were moving off in another direction from his own. Matrix decided to move perpendicular to the closest of the two remaining groups, while not trying to look like he was evading anyone. As he made his way toward the restaurant, he got a glimpse of who he thought was Ensign Smith. He wasn't sure and didn't want to risk giving up his cover. As he got closer to the restaurant, he noted Ensign Smith talking with a woman...he had apparently made a friend or was about to be exposed himself. Matrix decided to keep moving toward his culinary destination. Nearing the restaurant Matrix noticed a couple just leaving one of the tables on the street side patio. He would make a break for the table. Just a few meters to go. He looked at the reflection in the window as he passed a shop and noticed the second group of men still following him. He picked up a discarded paper and cut through the restaurant patio and sat down at the table now vacant. Matrix adjusted his paper in front of him and acted like he was interested in an article. Moving the paper slightly to his left he got another look at the group of men. They had stopped in front of what appeared to be a clothing shop and were looking in the window. Two of them looked over at Matrix sitting at the table. It was hard to tell if there were indeed looking his direction or just looking around. There seemed to be many more people in the area than just a few moments ago. A wait staff came by and started to clear the dishes from the couple who sat there before him. "Good morning sir, nice day, but I think we're in for rain this afternoon." said the waiter. Matrix smiled and looked up at the sky, "I think you're right, hopefully it won't spoil the day." responded Matrix. "May I bring you a menu sir or do you know what you would like?" asked the man. "Please, a menu would be great, and something cold to drink too." asked Matrix. Matrix tried to fit in and put his paper on the table and took off his jacket. It was getting hot. He laid his coat over the chair next to him and picked up his paper again. The tricorder was useless since he had forgotten to silence its audible input and he didn't dare take the unit out into the open to make the adjustments. He continued to watch for the men he was sure who were following. The third group of men were no longer visible and the second group was still at the clothing store. Matrix looked around noting any areas of escape he could use. There was a door into the restaurant behind him, separated by a small fence demarking the patio area with the rest of the eatery. After a few moments the waiter brought by a cold drink which looked and smelled like ice tea. He smiled at the man as he was presented with a menu. "I'll be back shortly to take your order." he said. Matrix continued to look over his paper and was interrupted by two people standing just to his left. "Excuse us sir" said the man. Matrix put down his paper and looked up at the two; a man and a woman and neither looked happy. The man who spoke had his hand tucked inside his jacket and gave a slight smile. The woman didn't speak, but just looked at Matrix with regard. ~I've been discovered.~ thought Matrix. (Reply any, none) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Business Section Unknown, Lt. Steve Matrix, 1120) "Sir, my wife has misplaced her camera and we're wondering if you've seen it...we had this table last." asked the gentleman. Matrix almost sighed in relief at the man's inquiry. "No, I'm sorry I've not seen it, but I just sat down." replied Matrix. "Perhaps its under my coat?" he suggested. Matrix pulled his coat off the chair it was laying over and there it was. "Oh I'm so sorry, please forgive me. Is this what you were looking for?" said Matrix. "Thank you sir" most kind said the women who now smiled. The woman hugged the man and smiled at Matrix. "This has all of our vacation images in it...I'm so happy I didn't lose it altogether." she said. Matrix smiled. "Please join me and tell me about your visit here." said Matrix. "Would you mind?" asked the woman looking up at the tall man. "Not at all, please...I would be honored to hear of your visit here." said Matrix. Matrix thought this would be an opportunity to appear to visit with friends. Indeed if there were security forces watching him, the couple might appear to be nothing more than acquaintances. He hoped. The second group of men were now curious about this stranger in their city. They had reports of 'outsiders' visiting and they thought this unusual man could be one. The four of them conversed briefly about what to do next. Matrix glanced over at the clothing shop they were gathered in front of, obvious of their purpose, and noted two of them leaving. The other two continued to walk together toward Matrix and the couple sitting at his table. "Waiter, please...whatever my friends would like." motioned Matrix. The couple smiled, "Argon Tea for me and...Leonal herb tea for my wife." said the man. Matrix smiled. "So, have you been in Khoda City long?" asked Matrix. The couple started to talk about their visit to the city in earnest and were very comfortable telling a total stranger about their honeymoon and trip from another distant city to Khoda. Matrix smiled and appeared to take a keen interest in their story and obvious new marriage. Happy for the opportunity Matrix embraced the circumstances and played along. The two remaining security personnel stopped about 10 meters away from Matrix and the couple and appeared to be talking into a communication device. Matrix took brief glances, but tried to appear to focus on his new friends conversation. A few minutes had passed and the security people moved off and out of sight. Matrix thought he bought some time and for the next 45 minutes talked with the couple. For now, it had apparently, he avoided being captured and compromising the mission. The overall shape of the building was thin, deep and tall. It reminded T'Larah of some of the historical buildings in downtown San Francisco. "Apparently this is the place. Keep your eyes open and we should be able to find Mister Raschen or Rosenbaur soon enough." she said. “umm, sure” Kimiko was not hopeful that she would able to spot her shipmates. The Tricorder readings lead the pair past the lobby and down an off hallway. Rosenbaur and Raschen were apparently already in conversation. "Are we the first four to the meeting?" Sullivan asked. Kimiko motioned for Remey to join. (Reply Sullivan, away party) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Third District Hotel Voltul - aCMO – Ens Kimiko Ichijo – Day 7 - 1126.5) Kimiko follow obediently behind the Commander as they made their way across the lobby. The doctor quietly noticed the atmosphere of the hotel. The cut of clothing was a bit higher then out on the street ~not higher, but more flashy.~ The doctor thought. ~The gestures and expressions are certainly more intimate~ The Ensign noticed the Chance-shaped Irlixian and steered towards him. After the door closed, Chance watched as T’Larah and Kimiko approach him. Once the three of them were together Sullivan had asked, "Are we the first four to the meeting?" “5 actually; Mike brought a ‘plus 1’ with him. I’ll let him explain it, but what I do know is that she is his guide and her name is Ios.” “Sorry actually six” Kimiko corrected Kimiko motioned for Remey to join. I’ll let him explain it, but what I do know is that she is his guide and her name is Ios.” “Sorry actually six” Kimiko corrected Kimiko motioned for Remey to join. Chance looked at Remey, then at Kimiko before rolling his eyes and focusing them on T’Larah “Was I the only one that made it down the street without any help?” he said sarcastically before continuing “You understand that this totally negates many of those speeches you have given me about my unorthodox methods, and how I need to follow regulations.” Raschen said; feeling a little frustrated. (Reply Sullivan, Ichijo) “Regardless; what do you plan to do if your guest and the other guest know and are at odds with one another?” Raschen said, altering the subject; or at least attempted to. (Reply Sullivan, Ichijo) (Reply Sullivan, Ichijo) Posted by Charlie --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix - Khoda City - Third District Hotel Voltul - AFO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 1132) Kimiko motioned for Remey to join. “Was I the only one that made it down the street without any help?” he said sarcastically before continuing “You understand that this totally negates many of those speeches you have given me about my unorthodox methods, and how I need to follow regulations.” Raschen said; T'Larah felt his frustration, but kept a tight grip on her own reaction. She needed to figure out what he was talking about. "What do you mean 'with out any help'?" she inquired. “Regardless; what do you plan to do if your guest and the other guest know and are at odds with one another?” Raschen said. ~He thinks Ensign Remey is a native.~ she thought finally figuring out what Chance was on about. She almost smiled, almost. She kept her tone low so as not to be over heard. "Mister Raschen, there is no additional 'guest', just the one. That individual is Ensign Remey, a member of our Science department. I know with your new responsibilities that you don't get a lot of time to review the crew rosters. Mister Remey is surgically altered, and not from your department so I could understand why you wouldn't recognize him. Your diligence though, is duly noted." (Reply Raschen, Ichijo) "Do we have any idea the whereabouts of the rest of the away team?" she inquired. (Reply Raschen) "While Mister Rosenbaur and I speak with the one guest, I need you to figure out where the rest of the away team is." (Reply Raschen) "Yes, but only minimally. Short bursts of scanning for their communicators, no more then two to three seconds in a minute, unless you can scan passively or piggyback the signal on something else." she said. (Reply Raschen) ~There are times that Chance's background are more of a boon then most will ever know.~ "I knew I could count on you Chance." she finished and walked into the lavatory following Rosenbaur and the guest. He finally arrived he saw that Tom and Sanok we ahead of him. ~Well it looks like I’m in the right place~ He nodded to the others as he entered. (reply any) (posted by Robbie) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District-Hotel Voltul, Lt. Steve Matrix, 1138) Nearly exhausted from both the boring couple conversation and evading the apparent Irlixian security teams Matrix made his way to the Hotel Voltul. As he approached the front door he noted the same two men had had spotted back at the restaurant. Matrix pulled up his jacket and draped it over his left forearm as he looked at the men, now just right of his position. One was leaning on the hotel wall, the other facing his comrade with his back toward Matrix. As he approached the entrance to the hotel, he looked directly at the man leaning against the wall. The man was younger than Matrix and seemed determined in his purpose. As Matrix walked past them and into the lobby he had managed to take a full scan of the men and the immediate area. Adjusting his coat he brought the tricorder display into view with one fluid motion. Noting the display he was relieved to see commbadge signatures...other team members were in the immediate area. As Matrix entered the hotel lobby he looked up to noticed Ensign Smith, Lt Tom Jackson and Ensign Sanok standing together a few meters to his left. They observed Matrix enter the hotel, but he didn't approach them. Instead he made eye contact with Lt. Jackson and sat down in one of the vacant chairs about 10 meters away, motioning with a glance of the possible trouble just outside the hotel. Jackson returned Matrix glance as if to understand the threat. As Matrix sat down, he swung his coat over to his left side and placed it on the chair arm. The chair was oversized so he had room enough to access the coat pockets easily. As he pretended to search for reading material Matrix secured his phaser with his right hand and placed it under his left leg just in case. He quickly scanned the hotel lobby and noted just over a dozen people nearby, including the three crew members. The security men hadn't yet entered the hotel lobby, but one was visible in the window Matrix's left shoulder. (Reply Jackson,Smith, Sanok, none) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District-Hotel Voltul, Senior Detective- Vilox Nigo, 1140) ~The Voltul~ Vilox thought with a sense of disgust that clearly showed on his face as he and his partner stood on the street corner just outside the structure. The place was a well known den of vice. It's legality was questionable, only in as much that they were allowing indiscriminate intermingling of Gabs and Mols. If they ever mad that particular act illegal, he'd be the first to lead the purist charge, but for the moment he couldn't do anything about it other than just make his displeasure clear. He glanced over at his partner, who like himself was a Gab through and through. Certified through at least six generations, they were a shrinking breed. Too many people these days were becoming too tolerant of the genetic intermingling taking place. At the rate the country was in, the dilution of the Gab bloodline would be so washed out by the inferior thin blooded Mol within another dozen or so generations that it would be irrevocably lost forever. He shook his head and adjusted his stance to one a bit more comfortable. Being this close to such a disgusting place was difficult enough. It was the sort of place that distracted him from his actual reason for being here in the first place. Like every other security force in the country they had been placed on high alert. The information that they had been given through official channels had been thin, but Vilox was a detective for a very good reason. He had spent years building reliable contacts at various levels of government, as well as in the underworld that seethed beneath the belly of his fine city. Through those contacts he had learned that another alien starship, this one intact, had been captured, and that as a result, the government was concerned about the possibility of increased spy activity. Another advantage was that he wasn't just a member of the regular police force. He was a member of the Elite Internal Security Force. He had access to military level equipment and training. His own experiences during the technology wars were also a very large boon. He had after all been responsible for more successful counter-espionage operations during the war than anyone else. Instinct had played a large role in his success. It had pulled him through the fire of the war with a temperament better suited for the service of his country. It had never failed him. The energy signatures picked up by the technical division of the EISF, had been abnormal enough to pique his attention, but when they recurred, at different locations throughout the city, his instincts had gone crazy. There had been rumors for years that the most elite military units in the Service had access to a Molecular transporter, and that the technology was not only functional, but capable of moving a living breathing Irlixian harmlessly through space nearly instantly. That rumor had surfaced first at the edge of his conscious thought before practically screaming his name while wearing a bright orange jumper. He had seen that energy signature in a classified paper, years ago, after a sting against a Scientist selling defense secrets to one of the competing superpowers. It had been associated with matter-energy conversion and transfer. What if the enemy had managed to get a hold of such technology? It was that thought that had brought him out of his office and onto the street corner outside of the Hotel Voltul. A second signal had been discovered hidden inside one of the normal communications channels. If Vilox was any good at his job at all, he could bet that the second signal was a weigh point for those agents that had managed to be converted and transferred into the city through some matter energy converter. It was general knowledge that Vilox was not only good at his job, but that he was the best. The appearance of the strange man that he had spotted at the restaurant down the street was too much coincidence for him to ignore, especially when that individual walked into the hotel and took a seat in a common area. "What do you think detective?" Gasner asked, his southern accent making the word detective sound more like day-tek-tif. "Something's going on here." he added as an afterthought. Vilox nodded, "Most certainly Gazz" He answered using his nickname for his partner. "maybe an insertion team. Maybe a specs ops team, hard to say just yet. We don't even know how many there are in there." Gasner nodded, then pulled a smoke stick from his coat pocket and lit it with his pocket utility laser. he took a deep inhalation of the blue green smoke, held it for a second before releasing it in a deep gout of oily looking smoke. =/= Nigo, tech reports that they have mapped the exact location of the beacon. It's located in one of the public lavatories.=/= Vilox's subcochlial implant hummed into his ear. "Data jack it to me." he commanded through his implanted jawbone microphone. =/= On it's way.=/= the data jockey reported. Vilox reached down into his jacket pocket and pulled out his PADD. A moment later he was viewing a detailed wire frame display of the building complete with red spots that were indicative of warm bodies. A series of concentric circles marked the location of the aberrant signal. He regarded it for a second, before letting his partner take a look at it. "Stream the data to all responding units, and have the uniforms in place at the three block markers. Nothing in or out, got it?" Nigo asked. Gasner nodded and then started communicating the orders to the other officers, tightening the noose. Within a few minutes, the loop would be closed and Vilox and Gasner would lead the counter-insertion team gathering nearby into the building to bag some spies. dead or alive didn't really matter, although he'd prefer alive. The room was anything but impressive. The tiles on the floor and walls had seen better days, and the bathroom stalls had most assuredly been painted repeatedly in an awkward attempt to hide graffiti. ~Some things seem to be universal.~ mike thought as his eyes noted a series of intricate carvings on one of the outer stall doors. He couldn't read it, but he could imagine what it might say, 'for a good time call...' Ios sat perched on the edge of one of the heavy duty porcelain lined sinks that made up the bank of wash stations. Metal mirrors lined the wall there although they were much to heavily damaged to be of any practical use. "You know I didn't expect that the first place the very first live human I met would take me would be a public bathroom." she said with a shrug. "And not a very clean one either." Mike smiled and chuckled, "Well sometimes you take what you can get." he replied, a hint of mischief in his voice. Just then, the door to the facilities opened and Sullivan, Ichijo and Remey entered. "Wait here for a second please." Mike said to Ios and then crossed the floor to intercept the Commander and her companions." Although he knew that smiling wouldn't help his case, he found himself doing so anyway. "Ma'am." he said, careful not to use her name. (reply Sullivan) "Did our friend outside tell you about Ios?" He touched the cosmetically covered break in the skin of his lower lip. "She saw it and I thought that she was going to panic, but she didn't. She was, in fact, strangely calm." "She indicated I should follow her. Which my instincts told me wasn't a completely terrible idea. I did and she led me to public housing unit, where we entered a private domicile." "There was absolutely no evidence of it in any of the transmissions we intercepted." Louis broke in. "Perhaps that civilian had access to someone in the heirarchy with loose lips." "Being from another world is a logical leap that can be attributed to a keen mind and observation." she added. " However knowing a race that you have not met is an imposibility. So how did she know you are human?" T'Larah asked. "Apparently she was a scientist that had been working on a government project nearly two decades ago. Something involving a crashed alien starship. She said that there had been a group of humans and others on the planet when the ship crashed. She had befriended one of the humans and learned some things about us. Apparently there was some illness of some sort and after losing her position and the use of her legs as a result of the sickness, she was discharged back into the population once they were certain that the disease could not spread." "Ios is her daughter. She supposedly works where they have taken the new starship and it's crew. Considering the information, I thought it important to bring her along, despite the risk." The doctor replied "Obviously, I am more concerned about the illness aspect, though its good to have you aboard. Was this a native pathogen?" "Doctor, obviously I want you to contain the possibility of a species transversing pathogen, however, at this time our priority is finding all the pieces of our lost vessel, and either destroy it or recover it. Our next priority is finding the crew of that vessel and at the very least determine their fate and if possible, rescue them. I want you to work on that if you have any free time, but priority must go to the mission." she said. (reply Ichijo) "Doctor, " Mike said looking at the CMO. "Is there any chance that you might have some way of sealing up the broken lip so that I won't have to worry about further unexpected or unwanted identifications?" Kimiko started fumbling around her bag. “Yes, I brought a dermal adhesive, though considering the propensity for violence of some in this group, perhaps I should have brought a couple of refills Louis smiled thinly at the barb. "Welcome to our group Ios, we're happy to have your help in this endeavor. I am the scientific specialist working on our little 'project." Do you have any knowledge of how your people may be utilizing the technology they found in the wreck of the Bors? It would actually be very helpful for me to know this since what has been copied may be subverted." (Reply Any) "Ios, if you work on this project isn't it classified? What is the posibility that they may have knowledge of your whereabouts at all times. That is what I would do and it's logical to presume that your government would use similar OPSEC proceedures." T'Larah asked. There was a loud commotion outside, in the lobby. (Reply Ios, Senior Detective Nigo, any) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Khoda City- Third District- Hotel Voltul - ACSO, Ensign Louis Remey -Day 7- 1145) Louis had to admit that though using public restroom for a meet was unorthodox and highly susceptible to intrusion it wasn't too bad a place. ~At least there's no one here handing out towels.~ The blue-green alternating with white tiles upon the walls were clean and the sinks and fixtures nearly gleamed. Apparently this particular hotel though not the best was focused upon treating its guests lavishly which was a treat. Louis wore the loose clothing and jacket of the working classes that his researches into the culture had shown to be popular and indeed they had seen many thus dressed so far in the city which allowed them to blend in very well with the populace though not everyone they had met so far had been friendly. The security officer was filling their group in on a recent encounter. “I didn’t believe human contact was public knowledge.” The female asian doctor expostulated. They adjourned to a nearby area to meet - hopefully without attracting too much attention. Jackson used the time to review information on the computer systems theIrix used. They were fairly similar to the current system that SF used. It seems that the Irixlans adopted computer technology based upon Isolinear circuitry format employs holographic technology to store data three-dimensionally throughout the storage medium. It would be easy to degrade their capability providing the chips had not been coated to prevent such a thing from happening. Lt Cmdr Sullivan, Dr Ichijo and Louis Remy arrived along with Mike Rosenbauer. It seems Rosenbauer had 'rescued' a local named Ios. Mike went on to explain how he and Ios had met and how he had acquired his broken lip. Each team member introduced themselves. It was Tom's turn. "Hello Ios, I am Tom Jackson, the teams computer expert. Nice to meet you" and smiled at her. (reply: Ios, any) "Commander, I have a question regarding the computer systems here" Jackson asked after the introductions were finished. (reply: FO) "I take it we are to get a copy of the databases. Also, to see how the logs of the computer systems of our monitoring vessels were overwhelmed correct?" Tom asked. The hotel was also in way in need of an upgrade of decorations and decor. The hotel also seemed to be in need of better maintenance work in some parts. The thought of this hotel and function seemed very wrong to Sam. At that moment two people walked into the hotel and looked like agents. Now Sam knew that the meeting had been compromised with the coming of the agents. All Sam could do was wait for new orders. (Reply by away team) (posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Third District Hotel Voltul, Ensign sg Sanok, 1156) Sanok stood quietly and listened to everything that was being said in the public restroom of the hotel. The longer the meeting lasted, the more concerned he became. It was illogical to choose a public restroom for the rally point. Such a large group going in, with none coming out, was sure to draw attention. The fact that it hadn't, was inexplicable. What was even more odd, was none of the hotel patrons had come to use the facilities. Add to that, a native Irlixian was in the room with them, she also knew their true origins. With no retreat if anything went wrong, Sanok was fully-prepared for the worst to happen at any moment. He stepped out of the lavatory. "I am going to keep watch in the lobby," Sanok whispered to Raschen as he passed the security chief in the hallway. Standing at a rack filled with brochures describing the various services and activities available to hotel patrons, Sanok saw two Irlixians enter. Being in security himself, and currently working undercover, he easily recognized these men as some sort of security or law enforcement agents; it was easy to see in their bearing. He moved his body into a better position to react if the agents moved towards the restrooms. "You filthy skree!" An outburst and a loud smacking sound, drew the attention of everyone in the lobby, including the agents. Two of the lower caste women were fighting. "He's mine! You stay away from him!" said one. "You don't know how to keep a man!" said the other. The two grabbed each other, scratching, pulling hair, and screaming. They stumbled over a table, sending glasses crashing to the floor. People were scrambling out of the way. Others were hooting and cheering the women on to continue fighting. The man over whom the two women were arguing, was staring at them, a dumbfounded expression on his face. Sanok glanced at the two agents. As the battle intensified, they seemed unsure what to do. If the away team was to escape undiscovered, this was possibly their only chance.
