He noted with some interest that his name was missing from the list, but he didn't really care, since he had more than his fair share of commendations to wear on his uniform, especially if he were going to be wearing his Rangers uniform. "I basically did nothing. You deserve that commendation more than I do." Jennifer stated somewhat apologetically. "You did a lot more than I did." He smiled at her, "we all contributed in our own way. And what would I do with another medal? I don't have enough room to display them all as it is." He commented. There were a number of possible issues that could result from the current situation, one of which could be the possible violation of the Telepathic Morals Law. He reached out his hand and cycled the door and stepped into the compartment. It was clinical like every other hospital room he had ever seen. Ahmed couldn't help but remember that this was the second time in recent history he'd been here because of Fraiser. Tayla sat on the biobed, alone and scared. Things had gotten out of hand and she knew it. She also knew what had to be done to help things move forward. The first step had been finally admitting what ad happened on the holodeck and that had been the hardest part. Now came the second hardest thing. Looking up as she heard the footsteps enter the room, she wiped her eyes and said, softly, "Sir, I'm sorry." Ahmed nodded, and moved forward, past the foot of her bed and settled into the only chair in the compartment. He regarded her for a moment, taking in the lines of worry and unease that she obviously felt. There was real regret in her eyes, and a sense of disappointment hung from her slightly slouched shoulders. "Before we discuss apologies, I think it prudent that you tell me exactly why you're sorry. What happened to you Tayla?" She sighed, deeply, and said, "I did something that I know I should not have done. That I know was wrong but nevertheless I did it. I want it known that I know I deserve what I got but I will have to live with what I have done and saw and that is bad enough." Still somewhat confused by her response, Ahmed asked, "What did you see?" "I saw Lily." "Sweet Allah, have mercy upon you." He replied out of concern. He'd only read the files and he had a good idea of the sorts of horrors that lay within Lily, but seeing it, a memory of those horrible events, that was to him unimaginable. He paused for a moment, trying to drive the sense of horror away, knowing that Tayla wouldn't be able to do so as easily. "I honestly don't know what to say." he finally replied, "I can only imagine what you may have seen. But I need you to understand something... something very important. Lily and Jessica are not the same person. They occupy the same body, but Lily is a monster. A result of a terrible psychological program designed to create a heartless, brutal assassin. You cannot tell anyone about this, I'm working very hard to contain this information, because there are people that want to tear Signos apart and turn her into a laboratory experiment. You can discuss it with Parker, he's treating her, but no one else save myself. It's too dangerous for everyone, Jessica, the ship, you, everyone. Don't be mistaken even for an instant Tayla, if this gets loose, people will die." Tayla listened to the captain's words and then closed her eyes. Knowing that she had already done exactly what he had just told her not to do. Sighing, she looked up into his eyes and said, "It maybe to late for that. Josh knows." A tear ran down her face as she said, "I had to tell her, Sir. I couldn't not. No-one else knows anything. That I can promise you and believe me, I understand that Lily is a separate person. I get that but....." The memory of the screams and what they did to her flashed before her. She closed her eyes quickly, scrunching them up tight. Her breathing became heavy as she fought to keep the memory down. After a moment, she spoke, "Sir, do you want to know what I saw?" There was a moment of hesitation as he considered her question. A human part of him, the curious part did want to know. It was that curiosity that lay within mankind that had led him to explore and join the fleet. His more practical side, however didn't want to know at all. He'd been held captive by section 31 once already. He knew the sorts of physical horrors that they could inflict. He still had nightmares in which they had cut off his eyelids so that he couldn't close his eyes to the constant horror that they were showing him over-and-over again. The memory robbed him of his voice so he just nodded instead. "I saw terror. They beat her, broke her body and mind and told her it was because they loved her. If they do come for her, then god help us." Ahmed nodded again, allowing his head to droop as he mentally reviewed the reports from the rescue team that had found and freed Jessica from Hayden's grasp. That's exactly how they had found her, tied, beaten, nearly broken. That's how they had found him, or how they would have found him if it hadn't been for the fact that he'd self-administered a drug that blocked the worst of the physical pain and numbed his mental senses. It took him a few moments to shake off the images of the report from his mind before answering. "It's not a matter of if they come, Tayla, it's a matter of when." he replied, as he raised his left hand and placed it against her right cheek. "I'm sorry that you had to see that, I truly am, but you have to keep it quiet now, discuss it only with Parker or myself. I'm going to have enough difficulty keeping my crew safe as it is, I would appreciate it if you would help by staying off Section 31's radar. I'll speak with Caskie, she can be trusted to stay quiet." He then did something uncommon for him, he leaned forward and in a fatherly manner gently kissed her forehead. It was a cultural thing amongst the believers of Mohammed, it was called the kiss of peace and tranquility and it was designed to put the mind at ease. When science couldn't help, Allah always did. Her eyes closed softly as she felt his lips on her forehead. A calm entered her, a peace almost that Salid had not shouted, berated or was, at least outwardly, disappointed in her actions. Ahmed rose then and visibly settled himself, tugging his command tunic back into place. "Rest Tayla. You need it desperately. I'll speak with Parker, he'll set up a time for you two to discuss the things that you're experiencing. You can begin the healing process." That means he’ll search the duffel…~ Lani’ thought. ~I would, were our roles reversed.~ Chance took that as his cue and let out a short mildly loud whistle as he raised his right hand and gestured toward the Klingon vessel. Two crewmen ran from where he had them waiting along the bulkhead and approached the maQmIgh. ~They’ll search that too…~ thought tlha’nISta’, frowning a bit. After an exchange about the animal, the topic turned to personal armaments – which ultimately prompted Raschen to exclaim, “No one is allowed to take any energy weapons that are NOT specifically Starfleet issue onto the Bridge with out the Skipper’s express face-to-face written approval.” Lanista didn’t bother to much suppress a smirk at what to her seemed an over-reaction. She didn’t recall specifically mentioning any energy weapons (though she owned a few). She also didn’t foresee much, if any, difficulty in obtaining such permissions as this man had just suggested to her. She had provoked a reaction, and obtained what she needed at the moment – information. After the quarantine personnel came for jengSI’ and left with the bird, Raschen was heard to utter, “Crap like that is why I think pets are no more than meals waiting to be butchered.” Lanista was glad to not be facing the man directly when she heard this. She openly scowled at the remark – not because Raschen had spoken ill of a pet, for jengSI’ was a hunting bird not simply a pet, but because this Raschen seemed to have greater self-control issues than Lani’ herself did. (Reply none) (Posted by Frank) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 6, 1327) Ahmed had turned the bridge over to Soma and had moved into his ready room, prepared to meet with their newest crew member. He didn't have to wait for very long, as the door chime sounded and the ready room door slid open to reveal Sanok, Raschen and the newest officer assigned to the Rosenante. ~Interesting uniform~ Ahmed thought as he regarded the mismatched and somewhat busy attire that the new arrival was wearing. "Captain Salid, this is Lieutenant Lanista," said Sanok. "Thank you mister Sanok. You and mister Raschen are dismissed. Carry on with your previous duties." (reply Sanok, Raschen iyw, but not necessary) "Sit down Lieutenant." Ahmed ordered once the other two officers had vacated the compartment. "Welcome aboard the Rosenante." (reply Lanista) "I have had a few moments to review your service records and your assignment and have to wonder why an honorable Klingon such as yourself would return to Federation service after such a long time in Klingon Space?" Ahmed inquired. (reply Lanista) Ahmed nodded. "I see, well the Federation is fortunate to have such a dedicated officer in the fleet. I am pleased that you have been assigned here as well. While aboard this ship, you will conform to all uniform and weapons regulations. That means standard duty uniform, and due to your origins, I will authorize the duty Sash denoting your Klingon Heritage. You will not be permitted to carry any non-standard weapons or equipment while on active duty. Off duty personnel are not armed aboard this ship. "Sit down Lieutenant." Ahmed ordered once the other two officers had vacated the compartment. "Welcome aboard the Rosenante." Lanista sat as directed. She would have preferred to stand, but had be impudent enough already, she thought. "I have had a few moments to review your service records and your assignment and have to wonder why an honorable Klingon such as yourself would return to Federation service after such a long time in Klingon Space?" Ahmed inquired. “Orders are orders. The cause of my leave of absence was two-fold. My previous Captain, Archibald Stakes, approved a special mission within Klingon space. After its completion, I attempted to return to the Mithrandir, but was called away again – due to a House Feud with the House of Qurta. In truth, while I cannot disclose the issues involved in either action, I deserve the Interspecies Diplomacy Ribbon for my service to both the Federation and the Empire.” Lanista smirked at this statement, and half-regretted making it. “Though, as I understand the temporal dynamics of the situation, it has been longer for me than for you. The House Feud is over, and the House of DI’al is in the capable hands of my father. I look forward to satisfying my oath and obligation to Starfleet.” Ahmed nodded. Diplomacy is under-valued in the Empire. However, here in Federation space, a sash would likely be seen as a challenge to a duel. The ahn-woon is not obviously a weapon, and therefore no declaration of intent. What do you think?” (reply Salid) “As to the maQmIgh,” she added, referring to the fightercraft, “I do not believe it will presently conform to the protocols for equipment and weapons covered under Federation treaties. While you have not been, I have been at war for five years. And there have been times when it has been … logical … to place survival before honor. "Very well Lieutenant, the Ahn-woon is a reasonable request. Granted. That's the only concession on the uniform that I am willing to make." He responded. "As to the maQmIgh," she added, referring to the fightercraft, "I do not believe it will presently conform to the protocols for equipment and weapons covered under Federation treaties. While you have not been, I have been at war for five years. And there have been times when it has been … logical … to place survival before honor. I shall refit it, on my own time, however." "Understandable. just know that any non-conformal weapons and equipment dictated by treaty must be disabled as soon as is reasonably possible. I leave it up to you to be reasonable in that time assessment. I also leave it to you to decide if you want to bring any of the engineering team in on the project, so that you have someone that can aid you with maintenance or repairs on your off-duty hours." He paused and rose. "Lieutenant, you honor me and my ship with your service. I have high expectations from you and will hold you to the highest standards as is befitting a warrior and a starfleet officer of your skill and status. You are dismissed." (reply Lanista iyw, but not necessary) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Sickbay, CSO tlha’nISta’, Day 6, 1345) The CO had been, Lani' thought, quite reasonable in his acceptance of the ahn-woon as a personal modification of the uniform. It still struck Lanista as odd that Starfleet -- which professed to not be a military -- insisted on uniforms whereas the Empire clearly had a military but didn't particularly care what modifications an officer made to his or her attire. ~Not logical...~ tlha'nISta' entered Sickbay to observe the further formality of being declared fit for duty. She hoped that there was a real doctor aboard. Lani' despised holograms. She didn't much care for docctors either, but at least most of them were real people. She looked for someone to present herself to, uneasy at being in Sickbay. Her mother had died in a facility very much like this one. While that had been years ago, the absence of one parent still ached. While half-Vulcan, Lani's Klingon heritage made suppressing emotions very difficult. The warrior-genes had even made passing the kolinahr impossible. (reply any MED) (Posted by Frank) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Viskhard's Quarters – aCSO Lt jg Viskhard & SecO Ensign Blake Turner - 1957) Viskhard thought the meal had been a great success, but he wasn't really the test subject in this particular case. "How did you find it?" Leaning back, she exhaled and said, "Absolutely heaven." He smiled, "I'm glad." He reached over the couch and grabbed the bottle from where it had been left earlier and wiggled it slightly, asking the standard non-verbal question of "more?" She nodded and watched as he poured. As he placed the bottle down on the table, she reached for his hand and stood in front of him. Holding his hand, she smiled softly and kissed it. Viskhard returned the kiss softly with one of his own before pulling her down onto his lap. He gazed at the stars, feeling more whole than he'd ever felt and cursing himself in some ways for not understanding this aspect of life much, much earlier in his life. He leaned back in the chair with a contented sigh. Blake looked into his eyes and said, "Can I be honest for a moment?" Visk looked back into her eyes, she had not so far ceased to cause him consternation with her questions. He wondered what would come next. He replied with, "Of course," leaving to her the way things would go. "Does this feel right to you?" A strange question, he thought, but he rolled with it. "It does, does it not feel right to you? "Of course it does. I'm just amazed at how right it feels." Visk chuckled at that, "I'm more amazed at how long it took me to realize how right this is." She smiled and said, "So what now? You wanna dance?" Visk's grin went as wide as it would go. He lifted her off his lap as he stood and led her around to the clear area in front of the couch. "This brings back some happy memories." she said with a grin. "Computer, dance music, mid-tempo." The room was filled with a tune that was slow enough for a couples dance, but fast enough for it to be a fun dance. Visk bowed, low and sweeping with just a hint of joking in it, and held out his hand. Laughing a little, She said "Why, Sir, of course I will have this dance." and took his hand. When she had taken his hand, Visk twirled her into his arms and started humming along to the music. Blake held on as they moved and smiled. This felt so right to her that it still amazed how close they had become and so in tune with each other. "This is fun." She said softly as they moved together. Visk smiled, "Yes, I would have to agree." He lightly kissed her cheek as they continued to move to the up-tempo music. After a moment or two, she stopped and said, "Can we sit?" Taken off guard again, Visk had to regain his step before he ran over Blake. He backed up a step before nodding. "Of course." He waited for her to choose a spot and followed her. Taking a seat on the couch, she took his hand for a moment and said, "Does this, I mean to you, feel right?" Visk sat close to Blake, his hand resting in hers. She looked so vulnerable with that question in her eyes. The reoccurance of the question spoke to Visk of a deeper issue. "It feels right to me, I don't have the ability to explain it, but it feels right. What do you feel?" "It's scary how right this feels to me. I've never had this before. Most of the others simply left after....." She stopped, knowing he would understand. Visk closed his eyes, willing back the tears and the uprising demon that threatened to sed him chasing after phantom idiots. After a moment, he opened his eyes again. Taking Blake's chin in his hand, he made sure he had her full attention and spoke with deliberate intent. "I will never do that to you." Blake smiled and said, "So we're stuck with each other then?" Visk nodded, smiling, even though his insides were fluttering. He tilted his head, "I suppose we are." She leant forward and kissed softly on the lips. Allowing herself a moment, she leant her forehead on his and said, "I think I'm falling for you." Visk chuckled, "I've already fallen. Don't worry, it's a soft landing." He pulled her close and kissed her tenderly before leaning back into the couch in an imitation of how they'd ended up the last time they were on the couch. Very few had a sense of humor, except for the insane. Ben didn't consider Nayeli to be insane, she was fishing for information. "The Captain will see you at 1400." Ben informed her. "You can add that to your appointment book later." Ben stood there regarding her for several moments letting her know he didn't think the situation was funny in any way. "Someone will be down at 1200 with your meal." He said evenly. "Don't expect anything elaborate, basic dietary needs will be met. Fraiser has suffered from a relapse in addictive behavior, an onset of depression, and fundamental change in her thought process. As of right now, she's not fit for duty. But her condition is treatable and with time, I believe curable. She should be able to resume limited duty within a few days. I recommend that she be placed on an anti-depressant temporarily and that she take a telepathic neuro-suppressant for as long as necessary, abstaining from all psychic activity until we're sure she's in recovery from the addiction again. I also recommend training sessions and counseling sessions for as long as she needs to regain her control, and the neuro-cortical monitor she's wearing right now will need to be a semi-permanent device for her until she proves that there is little chance of a relapse," he stated solemnly. "Would you like to hear my profile, Sir, of how she got to this point?" I also want to know if there was any way that this condition could have been detected by the Counselor on her previous duty station. But before you begin that aspect of your briefing, I'm going to let you know that when I am finished tearing someone at command a new orifice, there will be a full investigation into the incident at Lieutenant Fraiser's last duty station. There will be an inquiry and if there is sufficient evidence, there will be a trial for these crimes. I am telling you this, because inevitably, someone at JAG is going to have to speak with Tayla and get her side of the story. It's not going to be an easy thing, but I am going to need you to prepare her for the eventuality." Ahmed paused, "As for your recommendations for treatment, I trust your judgment in these matters, so proceed as you feel appropriate. Inform Commander Caskie of Fraiser's limited duty requirements and any special scheduling that you may require. Once you receive Professor Gouthim's response, please forward it to me for review, if I have any questions, I'll notify you." "Now tell me how you came about your diagnosis." (reply Parker) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Captain's Ready Room - COUNS Parker Davis - Day 7 - 1213) "First, Captain, I want to say that I tried to contact Command. I have checked on my request for a formal investigation every week, and every week I'm either blown off, forced to leave a message, or told that it's still 'in processing.' I'm beginning to fail to believe it." (reply Salid iyw) "I appreciate your willingness to engage them, Sir. Now about my diagnosis. I went over Lt. Fraiser's history and determined that while she was in recovery for an alcohol addiction from the time she was a teenager until relatively recently in her life, she has since relapsed into an addiction that had been building since her Academy days when she first made empathic contact with a non-empath. It grew from there, and culminated with her recent telepathic connection with me, during our last mission. That connection was strong enough that it impeded my judgment and I wasn't even aware of it, which tells me that it became an automatic reaction for her, something that she had completely lost control over. That was why she lost control in the holodeck, why Lily's personality was able to find and transmit the information to her, and why it integrated with her own personality. I noticed during our session that she was oscillating between wanting help and wanting to run--this is classic for addicts, especially when they initially decide to get help. The good news is that she wants help. And I kept reminding her of that, and each time she wanted to run, she decided to come back for help. These are all very good signs. She's been under a lot of stress since her last assignment. The attempted rape and the lack of justice made her disillusioned with Starfleet, and with the inability to control her emotions, this dysphoria slowly grew. Then just recently she suffered a family incident in which her uncle was injured in the line of duty and justice wasn't served. With the latest incident on the planet, when she was unfairly arrested and nearly executed, she became convinced that Starfleet was the incorrect career choice for her, that it was an unjust organization. That's how I came to my profile, Sir. But I don't think she's incurable. I do think she has a very hard road ahead, especially dealing with the neuro-cortical monitor. Speaking from experience with some of the assimilated crewmembers living with implants, it has a psychological effect. But her monitor comes with the suppressant. The best analogy, Sir, would be losing a limb, or losing a sense, like sight or hearing. It's going to be very difficult and likely terrifying for her. And the monitor she's wearing right now is temporary--it still allows for some empathy to go through, because she's being weaned down to total abstinence. When the permanent monitor is installed, she'll feel...isolated. Alone. It'll be important that I'm there for her then." I'll have JAG crawling all over that office and by the time tit's over, the Corps will know the first time those officers suffered Acne." the captain replied, there was a small smoldering heat hidden in his voice. Tayla is own of my crew and I'll be damned before I let something like this go unresolved. See if you can get me her Uncle's name, and where he served. I'll see what I can do on that front. No one messes with the lives of my crew or their family as long as I have anything to say about it." "Send me that information when you can. I'll be working to get that inquiry started later today. I'll let you tell Tayla that's it's begun, that way you can use the information to help prepare her. I'll send you the information as soon as the investigation has started. I have an Admiral or Two that still owe me a favor." "If there's nothing else to add, Lieutenant, you are dismissed." (reply Parker iyw, but not necessary. we can do more on this in the new mission.) Daniel Greene --------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, Lieutenant Sanok, Day 7, 1400) At precisely 1400 hours, Sanok arrived at Captain Salid's ready room with Lieutenant Nayeli. As he had been ordered, he and a security detail had searched Nayeli's temporary quarters, scanning everything. All her personal gear had been confiscated and a team was going over everything more closely. He had also asked Matrix and O'Neill to check the security programming to insure nothing was missed. When given the okay to enter, Sanok again presented Lieutenant Nayeli to the captain. (reply Salid, Soma?, Nayeli) (posted by Bob B.) ------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, CO, Captain Ahmed Ibn Salid, Day 7, 1404) True to his Vulcan nature, Sanok was prompt. Ahmed liked that about the Vulcan officer. Promptness and dedication were, in his mind at least, one of the hallmark characteristic of an excellent officer. Ahmed put aside his PADD and indicated to Sanok to show Nayeli in. The Denobulan woman stepped into the compartment with confidence and a sense of entitlement that seemed all too common in JAG Officers. It was obvious she knew the regulations, when she reported in. "Reporting as ordered, sir." There was no remorse, not apology, nothing but a statement of fact in her voice and demeanor. "Carry on with your duties mister Sanok, should I require your further assistance I will contact you." He said to Sanok before turning his attention to Nayeli. "Have a seat Lieutenant, you and I have some things to discuss. Specifically things concerning ship's operational security and your role as JAG Officer aboard my ship." he gestured to the seat opposite him. As she was not constrained in any way, it was a gesture of professionalism that he hoped she would understand. "Currently you are being held on violation of Ship's operational security, whereby you gained unauthorized access to the Rosenante's central computer, whereby you acquired sensitive information that was protected under the Guarantees of Sophont Rights, which apply to all Federation citizens including members of my crew. Specifically Article 2 and I quote, 'The aim of all government is the preservation of the natural and imprescriptible rights of sophonts. These rights are liberty, property, security, conscience, expression, intimate association and resistance to oppression.' You have violated Lieutenant Fraiser's rights to security and intimate association. I know a great many people in the JAG officer's Corps that would eat you alive for such a violation. In fact I have already prepared a report which will place you before a review board for your actions. And if the Article violation isn't enough, I have over a dozen varying legal military regulations and codes that you have violated through compromising operational security of my ship. All of which carry court-martial and fines or imprisonment as penalties." He didn't give her a chance to interrupt him before he continued, "However, I understand that you have a difficult job here, playing investigator is never a fun posting, so I'm willing to cut you a little slack in return for a little favor." (reply Nayeli) "I'll get to that in a moment. First know that I will give you general access to normal data files. Medical Files, Psychological files, and personal files of members of this crew are off-limits, as is operational code for the ship's computer. No unauthorized access to the computer and no backdoors. In return, if you can show me a good reason for needing these things, I'll grant you access provided that it does not violate operational security or personal rights. Otherwise you have access to all mission reports, ship's logs and are free to interview, but not cajole the crew. If you need a warrant to search something, you'd better have one before you do so, otherwise I'll see you debarred and imprisoned for your trouble. This is not a condition of any of your agreement to the next part of what I have to say, just a statement of what you will be permitted. You will also be permitted access to areas of the ship within your security rating and to all senior staff meetings, in fact it's compulsory that you attend starting immediately." "Now to the second part. I will agree to dismiss all charges that you face, if you pull some strings for me and begin an investigation into an alleged attempted rape accusation that a member of my crew has reported concerning her prior CO. I want JAG pulling every skeleton out of his closet and if there is any shred of truth in these allegations, I want him convicted to the maximum extent of the law. He's a Starship Captain and I won't serve in the same fleet with a man who uses his authority to force himself sexually upon others. There have been several attempts made to begin an inquiry and they have been stonewalled, I want you to do your duty and see to it that this investigation moves forward and that it reaches whatever conclusion that it needs to reach. If the man is guilty I want him punished, but if he is proven innocent then that's the end of it. I am not asking for an outcome, just an investigation." "Do we have an agreement?" (reply Nayeli) Daniel Greene ------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, FO, Lt. Cmdr Ben Soma, Day 7, 1406) Ben had been in the ready room awaiting the arrival of Nayeli, Salid had requested his presence so he entered the ready room at 1355. At precisely 1400 the door chime sounded and Sanok entered the room escorting Lieutenant Nayeli. The Captain then dismissed Sanok and informed Nayeli of the charges against her. Then the Salid surprised him. "However, I understand that you have a difficult job here, playing investigator is never a fun posting, so I'm willing to cut you a little slack in return for a little favor." Salid said. This was a turn Ben hadn't foreseen, where was the Captain going with this. "...........I will agree to dismiss all charges that you face, if you pull some strings for me and begin an investigation into an alleged attempted rape accusation that a member of my crew has reported concerning her prior CO. Now that Ben knew where Salid was going he understood why he was willing to be lenient, though he didn't agree with completely dismissing the issue. Nayeli should have to face some disciplinary action. Ben waited to see what Nayeli had to say to Salid's offer. (reply Nayeli) (posted by Milo Young) -------------------------- (USS Rosenante, Ready Room, - JAG Lt. Nayeli - 1407) Captain Salid dismissed the Security chief and motioned her to the seat across from him. Nayeli took the seat, knowing that meetings like this could be long or emotionally difficult or both. She was grateful for that. His description of what she had looked into went beyond what she believed she had done - any time she'd come to a point of medical profiles or other Sophont related information, she'd stopped and looked for another route to find information. Accessing public personnel files certainly didn't warrrant this kind of dressing down. Nayeli was always very careful in that respect. This pointed her in the direction of understanding that something had happened on the ship before and she was the unwitting slob who had triggered the more sensitive than standard security. ~That or you've hit a nerve old girl.~ Salid barreled through, giving her no opportunity to get a word in, but Nayeli was in no rush. "However, I understand that you have a difficult job here, playing investigator is never a fun posting, so I'm willing to cut you a little slack in return for a little favor." Rather than go off on tangents about what she had or had not done, Nayeli went where the Captain led. "What kind of favour are you meaning Captain?" She was aware that this whole situation was far from normal, and what Captain Salid would offer her might give insight into what had happened in their last mission, as well as to the man's general MO - should she need to document that for her main investigation. Salid did no more than outline what she normally used in her investigations, so Nayeli had so issues - well, she sometimes cajoled prisoners or those reluctant witnesses in sever cases, but to this point the Rose wasn't in that category. He then went on to answer her question properly. "Now to the second part. If the man is guilty I want him punished, but if he is proven innocent then that's the end of it. I am not asking for an outcome, just an investigation." "Do we have an agreement?" salid had given Nayeli more fire than he could possibly begin to fathom. She had a particular loathing of anyone who would do such a thing. Denobulans, being very free with their sexuality, had a code around it that was much stricter than even the old Terran religions that called such behaviours mortal sins. Her eyes had gone a dark, murky and dangerous green as he spoke of this fool. "Captain, you may only want an investigation. I, on the other hand, will not allow it to end there. I will presonally have the man courtmartialed if I find these accusations to be true." She spoke slowly and carefully, holding on to her justified anger - even though a portion of it slipped through into her voice. (reply Salid) "I would have the man hanged, if the Federation allowed such corporal punishment, sir," She was disgusted, "Who is it that I will be investigating? I will need to know who the main accuser is or are aswell." (reply Salid) "Captain, I understand the sensitive nature of the issue. However, I must be able to speak with them. I can do it in the presence of a counsellor if need be, but I must be able to speak with them." Nayeli could not legally start an investigation like this without getting the information from the individual themselves. Hearsay is not a good basis for an investigation.
