(Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca – Bridge – Captain Henry Jacobs -0625 ) “There have been some changes.” He repeated the words hoping that the initial shock he received from hearing about the changes would fade away. The reality of the situation would not allow this and so he made his way to stand by the captain’s chair. “The admiral just informed me that Captain Capps along with other crew members have been reassigned and will no longer be serving on board the Boudicca. I received a battlefield promotion to Captain and effective immediately will be in command of the Boudicca. “ There was no way that any of the crew members, or Henry for that matter, could have been prepared for the words that came so coldly out of Henry’s mouth. Even though the Boudicca had been known to loose and gain crew members virtually after every mission this time it seemed a bit more defeating to hear of yet another captain being pulled away from the chair of command. Henry could only imagine how he would do in the new role but spared no time to contemplate it currently since there were much more pressing issues at hand. “That’s not all. Under the direct orders of Admiral Kensington, I am to restructure the department heads on board. I have of recent been working on crew evaluations which I was supposed to have turned into Captain Capps by now. Seeing that this is no longer an option I will have to make certain decisions on my own. I need everyone’s attention.” He looked around to room to make sure that he had the undivided attention he needed to make the following announcements. “Ensign Anderson, I hereby promote you to Chief Tactical Officer and to the rank of Full Ensign. Your reviews have been exemplary and on multiple occasions you have proven to be a dedicated and deft tactician. Congratulations.” (Reply Anderson) He truly understood the words that the ensign spoke, thinking back to the time when he may have said the same exact words.  He turned to face his friend and had to fight a smirk off his face before he spoke again. “Lieutenant Detron Trei. You have proven to have a sincere passion for the safety of the crew and all others onboard the Boudicca. I hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Full Grade and make you Chief of Security of the Boudicca. “ (reply TRei) After the lieutenant responded Henry had to sit in his chair and pull up the list that was sent by the admiral. He confirmed that the CMO along with Ensign Star were removed from the roster as well. Henry’s head lifted and he immediately looked in the direction of Ensign Noble. He stood from his chair once more and made his way over to the young man. “It would appear that Doctor Vosh and Ensign Star are no longer with us. This put you in the position to take the lead. Ensign Noble I hereby promote you to Chief Medical Officer with the new rank of Full Ensign.” (Reply Noble) Henry looked at the Ensigns that made up the crew. It was not too long ago that he was the ensign just looking for the chance to prove himself worthy. It was an amazing thing to think about how fast he actually rose in rank. It scared him actually and forced him to wonder if he needed the time to cultivate his skills to mold him into a successful leader. Out of all around him that showed their dedication there were none that worked as Ensign Armstrong had. The CSO was also removed from the Boudicca and Henry could see that this was almost like fate being able to say the next words. “Ensign Armstrong, your attention to detail is impeccable. Your dedication to your duty and to your fellow crew mates has brought us to where we are today. It is with great pride that I promote you Chief Science Officer with the Rank of Full Ensign.  Congratulations.” (Reply Armstrong) Addressing the bridge on a whole he spoke and spun ensuring that everyone was hearing what he had to say. “I do apologize for the lack of zest and tradition but so is the case with battlefield promotions. Let us finish our work here and I guarantee to honor you all the way you deserve to be honored. “ (reply Any) “With that being said. Everyone to your stations.” He watched as everyone went right into the work they were just commended for. He hoped that everything that happened in the last twenty – four hours was worth it even though they suffered great losses.  Henry walked back to the commanding officer chair, took a deep breath and sat down. He embraced the chair with the satisfaction of now knowing that he had earned the right to really sit there. He crossed his right leg over the other and called out. “All Stations, report” (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca – Bridge – Ensign Carter Anderson -0626) Carter stood at attention and saluted the captain. "Thank you, sir. I'll try not to let you down, sir." He said. He saw everyone else receiving promotions as well and smiled. He now knew he had to give his all to the crew and do his best to fulfill his new role. (Posted By Brett Goodson) (USS Boudicca – Bridge – ENS Harvey Armstrong CScO - (3.0629)   The others had responded to the Captain's announcement, then he praised highly Harvey's skills and performance, a surprise for sure.   “Ensign Armstrong, your attention to detail is impeccable. Your dedication to your duty and to your fellow crew mates has brought us to where we are today. It is with great pride that I promote you Chief Science Officer with the Rank of Full Ensign.  Congratulations.”   "Sir thank you for your confidence in my abilities and efforts, the department is the true one to thank for the readiness we currently exhibit.  I am but a cog in the wheel.  We will continue to do our best, sir." Armstrong replied.   Addressing the bridge on a whole he spoke and spun ensuring that everyone was hearing what he had to say. “I do apologize for the lack of zest and tradition but so is the case with battlefield promotions. Let us finish our work here and I guarantee to honor you all the way you deserve to be honored. “   “With that being said. He embraced the chair with the satisfaction of now knowing that he had earned the right to really sit there. He crossed his right leg over the other and called out.   “All Stations, report” "Sciences remains on alert, we are currently tracking the systems gravitational signature and the solar flares with the probe and out own sensors.  We are prepared for the deployment of the tachyons in order to more fully 'sense' what's out there, on your order sir.  Please be advised the tachyons will be detectable by others as well as us."  Armstrong stated.   (Posted by Andy C.) (USS Boudicca – Bridge –CMO Ensign Tian Noble -0635 ) Tian listened to the new captain and stared at the view screen of open space. He couldn’t help but wonder how long they could stay here without being noticed, or if they had already been detected. Tian turned to face the other officers just as captain Jacobs approached him, “It would appear that Doctor Vosh and Ensign Star are no longer with us. This puts you in the position to take the lead. Ensign Noble I hereby promote you to Chief Medical Officer with the new rank of Full Ensign.”   “All Stations, report” Tian waited a few minutes “we have been replicating small amounts of any vaccinations known to this system I have personal put the medical teams on a 3 team rotation so sickbay is well covered at all times. Medical away teams are standing by if and when you need them sir. If there isn’t anything else you need form me sir I will return to sickbay.” (posted by richard) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - Captain Henry Jacobs - 0636) One by one reports came in from the various department stations on the bridge. The first to speak was Lieutenant Trei. "The ship is secure. Measures have been taken against boarding so that scenario is covered. The armory is full and every inch of the ship is well armed if necessary. The Security department is on watch at all times and can respond with force in seconds." "Very good Mr. Trei. Let's hope it does not come to that. Nonetheless, its better to air on the safe side then not be prepared." The next person to speak was the new CMO. He spoke about the preparations that sickbay had been making incase of an altercation. Medical team rotations had been established and all bases seemed to be covered. "Feel free to return to sickbay ensign, just make sure you remain available at all times should I need to refer to your expertise." Henry watched as the young man walked to the turbo lift and left the bridge. The next report came from the CSO and it was this information that would help navigate the Boudicca through their next set of obstacles. "Sciences remains on alert. we are currently tracking the systems gravitational signature and the solar flares with the probe and our own sensors. We are prepared for the deployment of the tachyons in order to more fully 'sense' what's out there, on your order sir. Please be advised the tachyons will be detectable by others as well as us." Henry stood up from his chair to face the ensign. "I have been thinking about that. Maybe we dont need to emit the tachyons from the Boudicca on such a large scale. Would we be able to use an away team in a shuttle to essentially plow the way for the Boudicca?" (reply Armstron) "If it is possible how soon would you be able to modify the shuttle to do so? Time is of the essence here and the longer we take trying to navigate this area the more likely we will be dectected by the Cardassians." (reply Armstrong) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - ENS Harvey Armstrong - 0637)   The Captain stated, “Maybe we don’t need to emit the tachyons from the Boudicca on such a large scale. Would we be able to use an away team in a shuttle to essentially plow the way for the Boudicca?" “It is possible, sir.”  Harvey said making calculations in his mind as quickly as he could, “There are some inherent problems placing a shuttle in the gravitational eddies, such as Hull Fracture, guidance issues due to gravimetrical interference similar to what the helm is experiencing on the ship and all of these could result in loss of life.”  Harvey stated, “But it could be done with modifications.” The Captain immediately followed up as he often had as First Officer, ~Good Harvey Thought, little change but rank~  "If it is possible how soon would you be able to modify the shuttle to do so? Time is of the essence here and the longer we take trying to navigate this area the more likely we will be detected by the Cardassians." “With the right team we could make the necessary modifications in two to three hours, sir.”  Harvey stated, He was by no means an engineer or system specialist, he understood the theories but would need a professional to change idea into reality.  “Remember also sir that the Cardassians are having to deal with the same issues but may have a more sophisticated and up to date map, as we are developing now.”  Harvey knew the Captain would ask for progression so he just threw the data out, “We are currently nineteen percent complete on the mapping.  Estimated time of completion, 04:19 tomorrow, sir.”   (Posted By Andy C.) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - TAC/SC - LT(SG)  Detron Trei - 06.40) Jacobs spoke and told of the officers that no longer are with the Boudicca on assignment or other purpose unknown to him.  Under the circumstances, he promoted Anderson to Chief of Tactical, he promoted him to Chief of Security, he promoted Noble to Chief of Medical, and promoted Armstrong to Chief of Science.  With that came upgrades in rank including himself being now Full Lieutenant .  He welcomed the promotion but didn't show it openly.  He stated his opinion of the situation at hand and thanked Jacobs for thee upgrade.  Jacobs then sat in the Captain's chair and asked for reports.  He jumped in with a brief one. "The ship is secure.  Measures have been taken against boarding so that scenario is covered.  The armory is full and every inch of the ship is well armed if necessary.  The Security department is on watch at all times and can respond with force in seconds." He listened to other reports and waited for further orders to respond to. (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - Captain Henry Jacobs - 0642) Henry took a seat to ponder the report that he had just received from Ensign Armstrong. The time it takes to map a system is well understood but Henry was an engineer at heart and he knew well that people over estimate work times. "Solicit the assistance of Ensign Jericho. You have 90 minutes to complete the modifications." He didn't leave room for reply. That was all he had to say on the issue. He turned his attention to Ensign Anderson. "While he is working on that you will need to monitor the telemetry from the probe. We already know that this is a hostile area, we will need to know when someone else is aware of our presence." (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - Ensign Carter Anderson - 0643) Anderson looked at the Captain. "Yes, sir. I'll alert you of any immediate danger." He said as he worked on his console. He kept a close eye on the probe's activities and on the surrounding area. He awaited activity from the other offices to see what they had to say. So far, things were quiet around the area. (TAG Any) (Posted By Brett Goodson) (USS Boudicca - Bridge – ENS Harvey Armstrong- Sciences - 0649) “Ensign Jericho please report to Shuttle Bay two. You and I will be modifying a shuttle for an Away Mission and I need your expertise on the job.” Harvey said to the Commbadge on his chest. He trusted the computer to deliver the message. He waved his relief over to his station, there was no way the Science Station would be unmanned during their time in this unstable section of space. “Watch Sector nine closely, it has been showing signs of unnatural activity, nothing detectable but it might be something. Just keep an eye on it.” Harvey instructed. “Aye sir,” the light voice of a human female stated as she sat. “If I detect anything noteworthy I will report immediately.” “I will be in Shuttle Bay Two. You have the station ensign.” Harvey said and exited the Bridge headed for the Shuttle Bay and too much work in too little time. He made his way quickly to the location; he was finally getting the hang of the ship. He entered and looked at the shuttle in front of him. “Okay young lady, I need you to help us out, are you the right girl for this mission?” He expected no answer; frankly he was always intimidated by the cavernous shuttle bays especially when no one else was around. It was probably the gaping hole facing deep space when the shuttle bay doors were open that caused the issue but he had not ruled out a half dozen psychological disorders. Instant depressurization was something to be respected. It was out of control. (Posted By Andy Collette) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - TAC/SC  LT(SG)  Detron Trei - 06.50) He heard the orders given to Armstrong to modify a shuttle for an away mission to deal with the Cardassians.  It was not said that he will be on that away team but he anticipated that he will be named to that team.  Until that happened all he could do was make the necessary notes on his PADD to use on the mission.  He made notes on the PADD as of experience he had with the Cardassians.  He also made the responses that could be effective against the Cardassians.  He waited for the word to be on the away team. (Reply Any) (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Jericho's Personal Quarters - CEO Ensign Ryan Jericho - 0655) Ryan had a routine every morning of canceling his alarm, which was set for 0630 every morning, and rolling over in bed. This morning was no different as he ordered the computer to end the alarm and in the same motion rolled over in bed and flipped his pillow over to the cool side. What was different was that seconds later, before he could get back to REM sleep, another annoyance interrupted his pursuit of a few extra minutes of sleep.  "Ensign Jericho please report to Shuttle Bay Two. You and I will be modifying a shuttle for an away mission and I need your expertise on the job." As annoying as the interruption was the statement was true and ticked him off nonetheless. He hurried himself out of the bed, tossed on a uniform, and made himself ready,. Just before he walked out of his quarters he tapped his commbadge and responded to Ensign Armstrong with a simple "Understood." (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Shuttle Bay Two - CEO Ensign Ryan Jericho - 0700) Ryan had the unfortunate opportunity to walk into the shuttle bay and interrupt the one - on - one conversation that Armstrong was having with the shuttle. Now walking with a bit of ease in his step he cleared his throat to announce his arrival.  "If you two are finished. I'd like to know what you need my assistance with?" (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Shuttle Bay Two - CScO ENS Harvey Armstrong  - 0702)     "If you two are finished. I'd like to know what you need my assistance with?" Ensign Jericho stated startling Armstrong.   Harvey Cleared his throat and was glad his skin was dark.  “Ensign, I need to overlay the ship’s current navigational and structural integrity modifications onto this shuttle.  I am sure that I could probably just ask for a computer to handle it but the Captain is desirous to insure this modification is complete, safe and worthy of an Away Mission in about ninety minutes.  With you here I might well be able to do more than a simple overlay and allow this shuttle some additional capability over the Boudicca as it is smaller and easier, I would think, to improve.”     “The gravitational eddies and solar flares are the chief concerns from a scientific point of view, I am sure Security will want to beef it up as well.  We might be the eyes and ears for the Boudicca while we are out there and as such be subjected to some pretty severe situations.  And there could be enemy as well.”  Harvey continued in response to the engineer officer.  “Any ideas or suggestions beyond my extremely obvious ones?  It wouldn’t hurt to have advanced sensors as well.”  Harvey knew he was asking a lot but the success of the mission might very well be determined by the work done by the engineer over the course of the next few minutes.   (Posted By Andy C) (USS Boudicca – CMO Office – CMO Ensign Tian Noble -0703) =/\=`Ensign, I need you to prepare hyposprays for an away mission. LT  Trei will be by to pick them up before the away team departs.=/\= “yes sir” Tian replied “I will take care of this personally” "Very good. These need to be done before 0830, The team will be ready to depart by then." “will do captain” Tian left his office and went out to the main floor of sickbay. Tian went to the replacator and pushed in the code for a common anti-radiation medication this worked well ageist being exposed to small amounts of any type of radiation, as Tian was loading the hyposprays he realized that there would be no medical officer on the away mission, but he was the only doctor on board the ship right now so it made since, but none the less he would need to talk to the captain about a field medic at least till there was another assigned.   (Posted by Richard) (USS Boudicca – Sickbay– CMO Ensign Tian Noble - 0712) Tian heard the doors of sickbay open Tian looked up from the hypospray. "I am here to pick up the supplies for the away mission."  “Your early lieutenant, I’m not finished, but while you’re here you should know there isn’t any medical officers on  this away mission so  how well did you do in emergency medical training in your academy years?” (Reply Trei) “Right” well I have you 4 hyposprays that is loaded with a general anit-radiation if exposed you will need to admister each person on the away team.” Tian pick up a case from the floor “this is a field medic kit  in here is a medical tricorder a hypospray with your common medical and everything you’ll need to stabilize. I’ll keep an open com link .” Closing both cases he turned them towards the lieutenant   (Posted by Richard) (USS Boudicca - Sickbay - TAC/SC  LT(SG)  Detron Trei - 07.15) Noble asked him the extent of his medical experience at the Academy or ship experience.  He thought for a moment "My experience in medical is limited to what I studied to be a counselor initially.  As far as medical procedure like giving drug doses I know very little about that.  I understand that I will be the one to administer the hyposprays.  I will count on you to give me the correct information."  He took the hyposprays and medical kit.  He walked out of Sickbay to get statements for his report. (Posted by Edward) (Metrabr - Bridge - Gul Drakor - 1630) Silence fell on the bridge as the Gul stomped his way from the open doors to his weathered chair on the bridge. This was no strange action for him as his crew had become accustomed to his less than cheerful demeanor. Ever since the communique he received from the newly formed Detapa Council relinquishing him of his position and title he staggered himself about the ship lashing out at anyone for no apparent reason. The reason in fact was that all the treacherous back alley deals and agreements he made to secure the position ended up coming back to strip him of his glory. Being the man of low caliber that he was Drakor turned to attacking helpless freighters and cargo ships, that traveled in and out of the Lubelter system, as a means of perpetuating his wealth. His brother Drakel suffered a similar fate of public humiliation by association and had no other choice but to follow along side his brother. He was in command of the Matrabr's sister ship the Ingber and blindly followed his brother's commands because in reality he had no other choice. Drakel was a Legate of lesser prestige but nonetheless also felt the wrath of political backlash . The two ships had just dropped out of warp and began to close in on an Angolian commodities freighter when Gul Drakor, with a practiced hand motion, gave the order to open fire. The two ships, modified Galor configurations, simultaneously released several concentrated streaming beams of phased energy at the propulsion and defense systems of the freighter. Immediately, the single vessel was overwhelmed from the onslaught and lost shielding an other defensive capabilities. Boarding parties made their way over to the freighter and met little resistance as they cleared the cargo areas of anything of value. For the past seven weeks they repeated the same routine. Freighter after cargo ship after supply vessel fell victim to the raids from the two ships and while the proper Cardassian authorities were well aware of the transgressions they did nothing to remedy the situation. The communications channel beep with an incoming message from the Ingber. Once opened the image of Legate Drakel appeared on the bridge's view screen. "Brother," the sibling exclaimed, " the spoils from this raid are great enough to buy all the women a man could dream of." To his chagrin Drakor simply responded " there are much more important things to worry about than women." He watched as his brother rolled his eyes. Drakor was known to make a bad mood out of every situation and this was no different. Drakor shifted his weight from one side to the other in his chair and looked on to the man In the view screen. "Drakel listen, I still have loyalties with some in the Obsidian Order. They have intercepted messages. The Federation has sent a ship to investigate the raids here. I do not want them interfering. Understood?" Drakel's demeanor changed dramatically. " The federation has no claim here, what do they think they will accomplish? The two of us together can easily deal with whoever they send. I wouldn't give it much worry." Drakor's eyes flared with a fiery resolve. "Your lack in the ability of the Federation is exactly why you never made it to Gul. They are coming for a reason. They sent only one ship so they must have extreme confidence in its crew. My resolve is greater though and they will not stop me." Drakor slammed his fist on his arm chair computer panel consequently closed the channel and ended the conversation. That threw him off guard but he quickly recovered and went on about his daily bridge operations. (Reply none) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel)
