With the meeting concluded Jacobs was vested with assigning the individual tasks of the senior officers while in orbit of the planet. Aside from manufacturing work schedules Henry also had to consider that it was time for crew evaluations and that while some were doing extremely well there were also those that needed additional supervision and guidance. ~Some of these people are not gonna like what they are gonna hear~ he thought to himself, mentally preparing himself for what would come. Fortunately for him it wouldn't be on his mind for long as the helm console began to beep. "Incoming message from Admiral Kensington." ~Kensignton? I don't think I know that admiral~ "Put it through" Henry managed to reposition himself from the lean he found most comfortable in the center chair to an upright poise most fitting of the position. The vision of space on the view screen was replaced with the image of a cocoa colored mature gentleman, with lips prepped to bark commands. "Where is Captain Capps?" The man demanded. "He stepped away from the bridge at the moment," was all Jacobs could allow to escape from his mouth, sensing the urgency in the matter. He then followed up with "is there anything I can do for you Admiral?" The question lingered in the air and space between the two men until a face on the Admiral signaled that he had no other choice but to inform the first officer. "The Boudicca has been reassigned," the gentleman lamented. "Two known rouge Cardassian Captains with their battleships have been spotted in the Lubelter system. Starfleet Intelligence has received multiple reports of illegal trade and aggravated altercations between the Cardassian ships and local trade freighters. The Boudicca is being dispatched to investigate immediately." Such an abrupt change in the middle of a mission was not like Starfleet but that was not the only that bothered Henry. He was observing the background of the admiral. The room was not brightly lit and he noticed there was no identifying symbols are marking reminiscent of Starfleet. "Will the Rosenante be joining us?" Henry finally asked. "No they will continue the investigation on the planet. Lieutenant you have your orders. The captain will be receiving a communique from command in his ready room. Make sure he reviews it." The communication halted with out warning and it was clear that the admiral had ended it on purpose. Jacobs took no time at all to respond to the orders. He stood up from the command chair with a quick step over to the helm. "Break orbit and lock in a course for the Lubelter system. Maximum warp." The helmsman acknowledged and typed away at his console. "Captain to the bridge" (Reply Capps) "Mr Anderson, let our friends on the Rosenante know of the change of plans. Let them know we have been reassigned and that they are on their own." (Reply Anderson) "I will also need a combat readiness report prepared for the captain before we arrive" (Reply Anderson) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - Ensign Carter Anderson - 1301) Anderson nodded. "Yes, sir." He said and continued on with his report. He noticed things were moving along fast and knew he had time to finish up his report for the FO. Meeting crews of other ships was a good experience, must things must move on. (TAG Any) (POSTED By Brett Goodson) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - ENS(jg) Harvey Armstrong, Sciences - 1306)   The First Officer had more to say.  Anyone with half a brain knew that.  The man seemed frustrated that the Admiral had been so curt with him.  Orders were orders, Harvey thought.  He turned his concentration towards his console and began feeding LCARs data to himself from Stellar Cartography and the Federation Information System on the  Lubelter system.   The system was a single Class O type sun with incredible hues of light blue to the visible eye.  It was hot with one of the highest core temperatures on record within the Federation.  There were six planets within the system and a number of moons.  Of note was the phenomenon located in orbit  of the first planet designated Lubelter -One.  That planet was located in an almost perfectly round orbit, approximately one point six AU from the sun.  In orbit around Lubelter-One was a pair of moons known to the Federation and many pirates as “Twin Moons”.  It was a refuge for pirates until about fifty years ago when the Federation saw the value of forcing the pirates out, it seemed they had returned.   Lubelter possessed a phenomenon of solar flares that could be measured almost seasonally.  Stars did not have seasons, but this one had a calculable frequency for the flares and an intensity that seemed to increase and decrease predictably.  This was the ‘summer’ season of the Lubelter, the sun was at its hottest stage and the flares were frequent, intense and deadly to shipping.  That was what made the Twin Moons so appealing to pirates, they were located in such a way that almost prevented stealthy approaches and during the hottest part of the solar year if you did not understand the local gravitational currents and eddies you could not possibly plot a course through the area.  Much like the Badlands this area served the criminal element well.  It was also on main shipping lanes for legal traffic, it had to be patrolled if pirates were moving back in.   The Twin Moons were M-Class moons with rich resources, the ultraviolet radiation in the system was specifically designed for agriculture and seasonable weather patterns on the twins.  They were lightly populated as the conditions in the system were such that most people chose more easily approached habitable planets to live on.  There were several fine resorts for people on vacation and the moons were renowned for their naturally occurring hot baths in the mountain ranges.  Agriculture, tourism, shipping and conference centers made up the viable industries from the Twin Moons.  The history of piracy gave it an air of danger as well but that was fifty years ago, or was it?   Harvey wondered if they might find themselves on the Twin Moons, he would love to have a chance to take samples of the hot baths and of course the piracy had been required reading during his Security Training.  Who knew maybe Harvey would have a chance to document a new species or discover some new compound found only in the pools that formed the baths.  He laughed at himself, how many scientists had preceded him to this place in the last fifty years, still fifty years was not all that long in the field of science.  He prepared a brief of the system for the time that would come on the Bridge to deliver it.  He would wait and do so when it was right or leave it for the next officer to sit the station, science was a long term business.   (Posted by Andy C.) (USS Boudicca - Captain's Quarters - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1310) The Captain was in the middle of putting on a fresh uniform. Affixing his pips to his uniform a call from his first officer came through his communicator. "Captain to the bridge." It was a call that didn't need to be answered. Instead Calvin quickly fastened any other part of his uniform and left his quarters at once.  (Posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - ACMO  Ensign JG Tian Noble - 1310) After the meeting with The Rose had been concluded, Tian started to get up from his seat when the Admiral came on the viewer and began to tell Jacobs about the Boudicca's newest mission. Tian froze when he heard the one word that made his good mood about being back on active duty turn sour. ~Cardassian~ He thought to himself..  Tian thought back to his childhood to his father,  ~he could remember the day his mother and him go the news that his father was KIA~ He remembered watching his mother, such a strong woman, crumple to the floor with her grief and he remembered the burning hatred that started in the pit of his stomach when he thought of someone taking his father from them. Tian couldn’t help but get a little worked up at the thought of seeing the cardassians.  (Posted by Richard Tomlin) (USS Boudicca - Captain's Ready Room - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 1320) Henry sat across the desk from his captain waiting for him to finish observing the communique before he spoke. The moment came. "So what do you think of it all?" he asked knowing he wouldn't get the run around. (Reply Capps) "There is definitely something going on that we were left out of. How should we proceed from here?" (Reply Capps) "I suggest we run departmental drills. There is no telling what we will encounter once we get to the Lubelter system. This way all stations will be on alert." (Reply Capps) "Agreed," Jacobs stood from his chair and pressed a button on the captain's desk that activated the ship wide communications. "All hands, be advised. We are en route to a hostile location. Commence with battle ready drills and prepare for a captain's inspection. Jacobs out" (Reply all departments) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Ready Room - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1321) Once he was on the bridge it was made known to him that his first officer needed to speak with him right away in private. The Captain, trusting Henry, moved to the ready room. Inside, Lt. Jacobs briefly described the communication from Admiral Kensington, and shared the communique that was waiting for Calvin to see. "So what do you think of it all?" Henry asked knowing he wouldn't get the run around.  "It is all very suspect. One, when are in the middle of a fairly dangerous mission. General M'locha is not a man that can be underestimated. But, like Starfleet Command, I put full confidence that the Rosenante and her crew can succeed in the task. I just hate to just leave them so suddenly. Also, these Cardassians are actually two well known Captain's that have rebelled against their own government and Orders. They hold very strict ideals of their own and only work toward their end goal. When we find them I expect not just illegal trading but some further plot. They will not hesitate to fire on us. They do not see Starfleet or the Federation having any power over them. Lastly I have only heard the name Kensington once and that name doesn't fit here. However, his command codes match perfectly so we have not choice. We must tread lightly." Calvin said briefly about what he knew.  "There is definitely something going on that we were left out of. How should we proceed from here?"  "I have the same feeling, but this isn't the first time I was given less than ideal information. It is part of our business at times. We will proceed as ordered. I see you have already broke orbit and we are on our way to the Lubeltter system. We need to be prepared." The Captain thought out loud. "I suggest we run departmental drills. There is no telling what we will encounter once we get to the Lubelter system. This way all stations will be on alert."  "Very well, inform the crew of a hostile encounter and of a Captain's inspection." At that point the first officer did just as the Captain asked.  (reply none) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 13.25) He heard the order to break orbit and go to a star system he never heard of before.  The pirates on the other hand were somewhat familiar to him with several encounters  in Klingon History.  The Cardasians he was definitely familiar and hated by him along with Romulans.  If Cardasians were involved, then it had something to do with weapons or explosives and torture was a great possibility as well.  Anything of the sort would be without compassion or honor.  Department reports were ordered.  He really didn't have to give a report but he did anyway. "Sir.  Security is ready for combat as from the several drills conducted for the previous mission.  What are the initial orders of the mission sir." (Reply Jacobs) (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 1327)   Jacobs had just finished his all call over the ship's communication system when he was prompted with a question from the security officer. Henry turned to face him before he would answer. The truth was that Henry was just as unprepared for what waited in the Lubelter system as anyone else on the ship.   "For now I need an updated roster as two who is on each security detail. Once that is complete you need to personally oversee a deck by deck inspection of the security systems. I do not want there to be the possibility of us being boarded, and I definitely don't want anyone getting far if they do."   (reply Trei)   "This all needs to be completed by 1100 tomorrow. Understood?"   (reply Trei)   Henry walked around the bannister that divided the two tactical positions from behind the command wing. He placed his hand on the half-klingon's shoulder. He leaned closer to the man's ear to make sure no one else could hear him speak.   In a whisper he spoke. "You know Denton, you have done a great job with the ship's security. Every time I have asked for something you have produced it. I appreciate it."   (reply Trei)   He continued, in the same low monatone manner, "I would like to see you as chief of security again. Continue the good work you are doing and it will happen."   (reply Trei)   Once Henry was done he patted the Klingon on the shoulder and moved back down to his chair. He sat down and immediately started tapping on the armrest console, getting right back into his work.   (reply Trei) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Bridge - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 13.30) He received the response from Jacobs to go to Security and prepare for a boarding or any unforeseen attack.  He was happy to do so and responded back  "Yes sir."  He also took some sense of comfort that Jacobs appreciated his work.  He left his post. (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Ready Room - CO Captain Calvin Capps - 1331) After Henry left the Ready Room Calvin turned his attention to the unknown and somewhat mysterious Admiral. "Computer identify Admiral Kensington." [There is no Kensington with the rank of Admiral.] The computer informed the annoyed Captain.  "How many Kensington's are in Starfleet?" [Two hundred and twenty-three.] Calvin swiveled his desk computer so that he could see the screen straight on. He navigated to the communique from the Admiral and opened it. "Computer pause playback, scan humanoid face, run facial recognition with all personnel with the name Kensington.  A second for each image passed, [There are no matches.] Calvin took a moment to think. What would be the best chance of finding information about Admiral Kensington he questioned himself. Another Admiral, he concluded. "Computer, secure communique with Captain Level 10 clearance, send to Admiral McKline, priority high, use lock code and decryption Omega One Delta." [Level two pass code needed to continue.] "Captain Nine Four Boudicca Delta." [Do you wish to attach a message?] "Recipe originator needed," he said. It was a simple message. Nothing too difficult to decipher. Admiral McKline was the Admiral that Calvin worked for for a short period of time. The two had formed a deep relationship, a friendship that he now was counting on. [File ready.] "Send," Captain Capps said. He didn't like not knowing who the Admiral was and hated going into engagements so blindly. (reply none) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - Main Engineering - CEO Office - 1333) 'Quantum Warp Core Harmonics' read the title of the padd that Ryan held in his hand. He had finally found the time to pick up one of the latest papers on the subject direct from Starfleet Command. ~lets see what the genius' back home have to say~ There was no time for Ryan to turn to the next page of the paper because Lieutenant Jacobs came over the comm, breaking the solitude the he was granted inside his office. =^= All hands, be advised. We are en route to a hostile location. Commence with battle ready drills and prepare for a captain's inspection.=^= He had noticed the ship had broken orbit and had jumped to warp. This only came from his hands on knowledge of the ship through and through. Even with the most sophisticated inertial dampner installed he could feel the slight shift in his surroundings every time a change was made. Ryan stood up from his comfortable position, let out a great huff, and moved along until he was out of the office and in the middle of engineering. His very first instinct was to walk over to the main core controls and double check the manual lock outs. If there was the chance that the ship was boarded he want to ensure that he could lock out the core preventing the ship from being powered until the crew had regained control. He typed in a 4-point command into the console and the panel went black. Almost simultaneously a level 10 forcefield was erected around the core. "Looks like that works" No one responded to him, and he didn't need anyone to. He was making a rhetorical statement. He began typing on the blank console. It was impressive because he had memorized the layout of the LCARs panel to the point where he did not need to look. If indeed the core was locked out he would be the only person who could undo it, except the previous CEO, the current First Office who had come up with the lockout procedure. Jericho was finish and the console illuminated and the forcefield dissipated. He turned his back to the warp core and addressed the room. "Who here knows what to do in case we get boarded?" The room grew quiet as all eyes fell on Jericho. "I can guarantee no one knows the answer." (Reply none) (Posted by Darry McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Security - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 13.35) He entered Security finding the department prepare for inspection.  The frenzied running around was more than he wanted but the preparation was being done just the same.  He sensed their apprehension  for the conflict we are going into and understood it fine.  The work will calm them down.  He felt a bit of apprehension  as well but it was more of a warrior's fear of something out of his control.  He reran the boarding drills to sharpen their readiness for the inspection .  He waited for Captain Capps to come and inspect the department. "Good afternoon Ensign Noble, how are you feeling?" Not taking long to think about the question the Captain had an immediate concern. "It would be important for us not to make our presence known. Is it possible to launch the probe and remain concealed?" (reply Armstrong) "I have always said knowledge is power. Permission granted. Permission granted. Make sure to have all data analyzed by the time the science department has its inspection," the Captain expressed.   “Of course sir.”  Harvey stated and continued working the launch trajectory.  “The probe should be useful upon arrival as well at current speeds sir.” He said aloud not expecting a response.   (No Reply Necessary)   (Posted by Andy C. ) (USS Boudicca - sickbay - ACMO Ensign JG Tian Noble - 1405) Tian walked out onto the floor of sickbay grabbing a few of the of the normal emergency  medical doctors and nurses he had about 12 total on the emergency staff witch was more then enough he explained there duties to each of them. When Ensign Noble entered her office, as she had an open door policy, she looked up and smiled at him. She was happy to straighten out her back and slightly stretch it out. After a few words over what Tian had already accomplished he wanted to continue with level 5 medical drills in the holodeck. “Which is why i’m here i’ll need your approval to run these drills.” Tian said. "These drills would be very advanced, do you feel it is necessary," the Chief Medical Officer asked.  “Yes i feel there necessary for us to be ready we have no idea what we are going into.” Tian sit there and watch her think about what he said. “i’m sure this will get us both extra points with the capitan even if i do mess up the holodeck” he added this with the hopes it get him the approval.  "I don't think it would be possible for you to mess up the holodeck, but yes it would show Captain Capps that we are doing everything in our power to prepare our medical staff for any situation. Let me see?"  Mira looked through the holodeck time logs to see how much time she was willing to use for the unscheduled drills. "I approve the drills Ensign Noble, and you will have 2 hours max to finish all of your preparations." (reply Noble) "You are very welcome, and you are doing an excellent job Tian. Keep it up!" Lt. Vosh complimented the Assistant Chief Medical Officer.  (reply Noble) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Boudicca - CMO Office - ACMO Ensign JG Tian Noble - 1510)   "I approve the drills Ensign Noble, and you will have 2 hours max to finish all of your preparations." Tian was already out of his chair when he heard the compliment it shocked him it wasn’t something he was use to. “um thank you” he replied trying to not too sound too shocked. After leaving the office things in his head went back to normal and he went straight to the holodeck to get ready for the next step in the drills.   (Reply none) (Posted by Richard)   (USS Boudicca – holodeck2 - ACMO Ensign JG Tian Noble - 1530)   Tian entered the holodeck and looked around at the three teams he had assembled who were waiting to start the drills. "This is what is going to happen." He said, his voice loud and clear. "We are going to run a level five medical drill, the goal is to do our best as always. You have your medical kits, the objective is to stabilize anyone with major injuries and transport them to sickbay where they can receive further treatment. For the rest of them patch them up and move them along."   Tian turned to face the computer terminal. "Computer run level five medical drill please. Authorization Noble Delta 2."  Tian watched the room go from the black and yellow grid to a battle field. This simulation would put even his skills to the test. Tian carefully observed each team for a few minutes and then decided he should work with them in turn. He started with the Beta team, working within the team was more than a little challenging, due in no small part to the level of the simulation. After ten minutes or so of working with them he stepped back to make a few notes on his Pad and moved on to the Delta team. Tian spent the same amount of time and energy with each of the teams, making more notes along the way to improve their speed and success rate. Tian looked around again at the teams and the work they had all done. "Computer end program." He called out. The room morphed back to the empty black and yellow grid. After a few minutes of looking around hoping to find one of the senior staffs to eat with he decided that he just find an empty table and maybe one of them would see and find him.   Tian sit at the table place an order for a ale he had most night and a salad. Picking up the padd he had sitting on the table next to him he started reviewing the drill data and the report he’d be giving tomorrow. He was very pleased with the results he didn’t expect for the teams to do so well.   Tian Sit the padd down he really wanted to just relax and enjoy the rest of his night. Even though the month had just began Henry started working on them early because he knew with the upcoming possibility of trouble in the lubelter system that things would get away from him and the reports would not be done. There had not officially been someone doing the evaluation since the departure of Commander Caskie and at this venture it was well overdue. Henry wanted to make sure he was fulfilling the duties of First officer to the best of his ability and this was one of the main tasks. Acting as the liaison between the crew and the captain took a lot out of Henry but he would not let fatigue slow him down or prevent him from carrying out his duty. He knew that he had stared at enough padds for the evening when they all started to blend together. He was almost done with his work and all he had left to complete was a handful of the senior officers. Those evaluations he would leave for a later date for two reasons; one because they required a dedicated overview, and second because he would be observing all the senior officers the following morning in the departmental drills. While he had nothing but complete faith in everyone on the ship, anything and everything each individual did during the captain's inspection would weigh on their personal evaluations. He tossed the last padd he had in his hand over to his desk and stood up. He grabbed the empty cup and plate from the same desk and walked them over to the replicator to be recycled into the pattern buffer. He disrobed and moved over to his bed. ~tomorrow is going to be a long day.~ he thought to himself as he climbed into bed and under the covers. "Computer, lights off" The room went dark and Henry fell right to sleep. After a couple of turns after they got off of the turbolift they made it to the security office door. The automated door recognized the Captain's presence immediately and allowed him to enter.  Entering the room Captain Capps saw that the security department was ready for their inspection. The Cheif of Tactical/Security was standing in attention behind his desk. In front of the desk facing inward on both sides of the desk was Lieutenant Trei on the left also standing in attention followed by a few other security personnel including 2 non-commissioned officers. The right was much of the same except Ensign Anderson was standing closest to the desk.  Calvin begin walking through the human wall with his hands behind his back. He took the left side as the First Officer to the right side. The Captain inspected each crewmen and officer for cleanliness and perfect uniforms.  (reply Jacobs) Once the commanding officer made it to the desk he looked at Lieutenant Blake. "Lieutenant, what is your department readiness." Lewis with a commanding voice responded, "Excellent sir. Lieutenant Trei will give you his report for our security preparation." (reply Trei) "Very well Lieutenant Trei." Calvin turned his attention back to Lewis. "And what about tactical?" "Ensign Anderson will provide you with our tactical readiness sir," the Security/Tactical Chief explained.  The Captain turned to face Ensign Anderson. (reply Anderson) "Excellent Ensign Anderson." (Reply Capps, any) (POSTED By Brett Goodson) (USS Boudicca - Security Office - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 910) Jacobs stood silent while Lieutenant Trei gave his overview of the security department's preparedness for the upcoming encounter with the rouge Cardassians. While he obviously took his time in preparing the report, there was important data that was missing and needed to be addressed. ~It's your duty to point it out~ The lieutenant was his friend and he hoped that he would take what he had to say as constructive criticism and not as an attempt to undermine him. "Lieutenant, I can appreciate the report that you have given so far but I feel there is a lot that is missing," he paused before continuing. "I would like to know how many security teams we have assigned, and how many are assigned to each team? Also how many teams overlap on a given shift? If we are to be prepared for anything in the Lubelter system." (Reply Trei) "What is the status of the armory? Do we need to replicate anything?" (Reply Trei) Having to ask Trei for this information because it was not in his report didn't sit well with Henry. He immediately thought of the evaluation he would have to complete on the Lieutenant and made personal notes in his head. (Reply Trei) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Security - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 09.15) Hearing Jacobs ask him about the security teams ready or what is needed in the Armory was like a betrayal of trust.  He didn't tell about that because his report was a general one and he will file this in his mind as a betrayal of trust.  Such a betrayal is a death sentence but he will take his anger on the Cardassians.  His eyes darkened when he turned to continue his report. "We are well stocked with weapons although several phasers could be replicated to cover all the security teams.  There are 4 teams of 6 officers on a regular rotation  with 3 backup teams of 8 officers to jump in ready for action.  Is there anything else you need sir."   After he said the word sir, he growled a curse under his breath in Klingon. ~  Is that enough for you Mr. Jacobs.  Be ready to make this up to me or suffer the loss of a friend traitor.~ (Reply Jacobs) (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca - Science Lab One - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 1000) With two departments down Jacobs and the captain made their way to Science Lab One to check on the status of the science department. Once the doors swayed open the two men walked in and waited for someone to noticed their arrival. The first to notice their arrival was Ensign Romanoff, the Chief Science Officer. He walked over to the two men and greeted them. "Thanks for the welcome, shall we get started? Where are your ACSO?" The ensign smiled and prepared his mouth for a reply. "It has been a very busy morning," he started, " and Ensign Armstrong has been working quite diligently to ensure that everything was prepared for the inspection. As a matter of fact here he is right now" (Reply Armstrong) "Good to see you. I understand you have done some extensive research on the Lubelter system. We are at the moment pressed for time can you give us a brief overview of your findings?" (Reply Armstrong) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Science Lab One -ENS(jg) Harvey Armstrong - 1008) "It has been a very busy morning," he started, " and Ensign Armstrong has been working quite diligently to ensure that everything was prepared for the inspection. As a matter of fact here he is right now" Armstrong eyed the two men and shot a look towards Romanov, “Gentlemen.” He said by way of introduction, “Welcome to the lab.” "Good to see you. I understand you have done some extensive research on the Lubelter system. We are at the moment pressed for time can you give us a brief overview of your findings?"   “Certainly.”  Armstrong wanted to be brief and had to think of what to omit from his report, it could easily get out of hand as the system had many complex issues but the ones that would affect he mission were paramount.  He recapped the size and type of the system which he had placed in an earlier report, and then went into the specifics that had caused the science department to have personnel working around the clock since the split from the Rose.   “Here is the data we have evaluated so far over the course of the past twenty hours or so, which has been the main function of this department since late yesterday.  As you know the system is plagued with extremely intense solar flares which affect the system’s gravimetric conditions in ways that can be treacherous for space travel.  There exists a ‘safe’ zone within the proximity of the two moons referred to commonly as “Twin Moons”.  This is the location of all trade in the system, all life and humanoid supportable areas.  It has been a refuge for years for pirates as it is extremely difficult to navigate safely.  The Federation secured the area for the last forty five or so years, with the reports we have received from the admiralty it is safe to say that the Federation Security is nonexistent or stressed beyond safe limits, the pirates have returned.  This causes a couple of major issues, agricultural trade will be affected, and the tourism industry will feel the sting as well.”  Harvey paused for a moment and then added the most recent data he could provide from the Probe he had launched late the afternoon before.   “Our Probe is currently maintaining orbit in the polar regions of the planet Lubelter One, The “Twin Moons” orbit this planet.  From the probes vantage point it is currently mapping the gravimetric eddies and subspace currents caused by the flares that are at their peak this time of year.  As that data continues to make its way to the Boudicca we will update the Bridge.  Right now we are modeling a theory of tachyon guidance through the system.  It is our belief that if we release charged tachyon particles into the currents it will act as a subspace dye of sorts and allow us to see the ebb and flow of the forces working against us in the area.  It will help us predict the sheering forces caused by the flares before they affect the hull or navigation as we enter the area.  It is not without danger however.  Like active sonar of the past, as soon as we release the charged particles we will be visible and anyone doing subspace scans will see the particles as well and be able to utilize them to their benefit.  However, we are working for a more discrete method and it might not matter that others can see us, that will be a tactical decision at the moment of release.” Harvey paused to allow the two officers to digest what he had said and to answer any immediate questions they might have built up in their minds concerning the data.   (Posted by Andy C.) (USS Boudicca - Science Lab One - First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs - 1014) "Excellent analysis ensign. While we are receiving telemetry from the probe please also download a copy of all data to a padd that will be delivered to the captain at the top of every hour." He looked in the direction of the captain receiving the nod to continue with his distribution of orders. "Ensign Romanoff can remain here and examine the telemetry as it comes in. I would like you to man the science terminal on the bridge. I believe that if you keep at you will be able to implement your "dye" solution and assist in safely navigating the Boudicca through the system." Jacobs made air quotes with his fingers when he mentioned the word dye. It was a habit that he had picked up when ever he heard someone making an analogy to something. For the most part it was used in a very sarcastic manner but in this case he was in full support of the ensign's idea. "Finish up whatever you need to here, and then continue your work on the bridge. We will need an update once we return from the inspection in engineering." Jacobs motioned with his hand towards the door to lead the captain of the the lab and to head to the turbo lift to head to engineering. (reply none) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca - Security - TAC/S  LT(JG)  Detron Trei - 10.20) After calming down a bit from the inspection, he thought back to a time when he was on a Scientific mission on a Klingon Warbird.  The name of the Warbird was K'Hechnach.  It is roughly translated as "Death's Head."  On that mission he participated in for experience  before going to the Academy, There were quite a bit of fights per day about 4 or 5 deriving from some sort of challenge of authority or honor.  He had been in several fights of this nature.  He had won most of the confrontations and fared well in the defeats.  The betrayal of trust that Jacobs displayed in the inspection would certainly be a fight at the spot on a Warbird.  He hoped for Jacobs's sake that he is well prepared to fight in a similar situation.  Those fights tend to go on until one cannot continue to fight.  That was great experience for his Warrior training.  He looked upon that experience fondly. (Reply None) (Posted by Edward) (USS Boudicca – Main Engineering – Chief Engineering Officer Ensign Ryan Jericho – 1100) Ryan spent the last few minutes leaning against the warp core panel with his arms folded while he waited for the captain and first officer to arrive for the inspection of engineering. He made sure that everyone walked around on eggshells while they waited for their arrival, making sure that there were no last minute screw ups before the pair showed up. The two men walked into the room and Jericho quickly stood up from his lean. He did not stand at attention, a formality that was required on most ships, instead he dusted off his yellow patterned uniform and waited for them to walk across the room. “Captain, “ he greeted to his commanding officer. “Sir,” he followed up with a nod to the first officer. “I know the two of you have spent the morning inspecting the individual departments. This may be the most technical inspection you may have, but I assure you that the most has been done here to ensure that we are prepared for the Cardassians. “First off,” he turned his back to the two men and motioned them over to see. “The emergency core lock out protocol has been tested and is still operational.” He shifted his eyes towards Lieutenant Jacobs. “As you know this protocol was created by the lieutenant when he was the CEO. If, on the off chance, we get boarded, this will be the fail safe to prevent anyone from powering the ship. There will be no propulsion whatsoever during this time so the ship will not be able to move until access is allowed, by myself or the lieutenant.” “The other major item on the list is the secondary shield. I am not as familiar with it as some of the past CEO’s, but what I do understand is that only one can be operational at a time. This being the case we need to ensure that we have the Secondary Shield System (SSS) charged before we bring it online.” Ryan handed the first officer a padd. “Here is a list of things that need to be addressed the next time we are at a spacedock or starbase. They have been put off for too long. We can manage through this encounter but I encourage we stop as soon as the mission is complete.” (reply none) (Posted by Darryl McDaniel) (USS Boudicca –SICKBAY – ACMO Ensign JG Tian Noble - 1300)   Tian had kept himself busy for most of the day, but he was running out of things to do. He was really starting to worry that he didn’t have anything else to do today. Pressing a few buttons on the medical console in front of him he pulled up the information on the transporter bio filters he kept a pretty regular check on them but he figured a few day early wouldn’t really hurt anything. ~well as long as no one wants to use the transporters for the next hour~ he thought to himself. Most of these scans only took a few minutes unless there was something wrong then that’s when things got messy. Thinking back on the drill he ran with some of the medical staff yesterday and how hard it had pushed them he assumed it had helped him process things a little, having to get out of his own head and work hard had given him a chance to mull things over with more of a level head.   Tian sat at his desk going over the report from yesterday and thinking about other ways to improve sickbay for the upcoming mission.  He had been running these drills daily now trying to challenge his staff. Without thinking Tian picked up another padd, this one was a letter from home from his other. She worried a lot about him and expected him to write as much as possible. She was getting older now, she had never been a helicopter parent, always allowing him to make his own choices but supporting him when he made the wrong ones. He sat up called for the lights and looked over to his dresser to see if there was already a uniform laid out for the busy day ahead of him. There was not, which forced another huff from his mouth. “Okay, I am on my way, “ he replied while managing to get up from the bed and over to the dresser. There would not be much time during the day to stray away from the bridge so he grabbed a clean uniform from the dresser and made his way to the washroom where he ran cold water and splashed it on his face. The cold snap from the water jolted Henry into the reality of the day. He finished in the bathroom got dressed and left his quarters headed for the bridge. There was just no answer.” “No answer?” The other officer merely nodded his head to confirm what was just asked. The answer was obviously  not good enough for Henry, he tapped his commbadge to reach the captain. At this point it was not a surprise to see that there was not a response from the captain. “Computer, locate Captain Capps” Only a moment passed before the computer replied [There is no Captain Capps aboard the Boudicca] ~Wtf~ Henry thought to himself. “All senior staff to the bridge. “ Henry had no idea how to proceed in this this situation. (Reply ANY) (Posted By Brett Goodson) (USS Boudicca – Bridge –First Officer Lieutenant Henry Jacobs – 0540) With twenty minutes to go before the hour Henry had yet to see the captain or come up with a viable reason or explanation as to why he was not on the ship. There was no message left or any instructions as to what to do when the Boudicca arrived in the Lubelter system. What Henry did know was that they were now at the ordered coordinates and without a captain to lead them into whatever awaited them. Henry cleared his throat to begin to speak but  was cut off by an incoming communication.  Henry managed to compose himself and stand up to look at the operations center. “It’s an incoming message from an Admiral Kensington. It’s addressed for your eyes only sir. He is requesting to speak to you privately in the your ready room.” “That makes no sense. I don’t have a ready room.” Jacobs replied, both confused and intrigued by the statement. “Again sir, he is waiting for you to take this in the captain’s ready room.” “Send it through then.” Jacobs began to power walk across the bridge and into the captain’s ready room. He sat at the chair and pressed the flashing LCAR’s button that opened the channel. There was no greeting from the man just like the first time the two men had spoken. The admiral just dived into what he had to say and Jacobs’ only job was to sit there and listen. “By now you’ve noticed that Captain Capps is no longer on the Boudicca. This is no accident. “  Henry leaned inward towards the viewscreen indicating that the admiral had his full and undivided attention. “Calvin Capps, along with a select number of others have been reassigned to a most pressing matter and will no longer be onboard.” The screen that Henry was watching split as a list began to scroll of everyone that had been pulled from the Boudicca’s roster. Of note Henry noticed the CMO’s name along with the commanding officer of the Marines. It was Henry’s job to know every member of the crew and as he read each name the image of each person flashed across his mind. Thirteen crew members were pulled in total and when he saw that number he was urged to speak out. Henry attempted to interrupt the still speaking admiral, “Just what are these people being removed…” but was easily over spoken as the admiral moved onto the next topic. “Effective immediately you have been promoted to the rank of Captain and will assume command of the Boudicca until ordered to do otherwise. You will also assign new department heads in preparation for your encounter with the Cardassians. There will be a new command structure onboard the Boudicca and it is up to you to ensure that this mission goes as planned.” There were hundreds of questions that swirled around in Henry’s head and all he needed was an opening to let them all out. The problem was the admiral did not give him one and closed the conversation by saying that he would be in contact with Henry very soon. All Jacobs could do was run both hands through the short curly locks on the top of his head. He remained sitting for five additional minutes before he stood up and walked back out to the bridge.
